Thanks for downloading Quattro Stagioni!
I
started planning this CTF pack just after I finished Bay Of Diamonds,
still my best CTF level so far. I quickly decided that there would
be about 4 levels in the pack, which is probably enough for a few hours
of fun. The only problem at that time was: what name should I give
it? The solution came when I was working in the supermarket and filling
pizza's. I looked at one pizza called "Quattro
Stagioni",
which is Italian for "four seasons" or something. Each quarter
of the pizza had a different topping. Just like every level in my pack
looks - and tastes - different. Let me tell you more about it...

The Levels:
As I said in the introduction, this pack has four different levels,
which I will describe below here.

Level 1: The Lion Sleeps Tonight
This level has the hard job to start off.
I came up for the idea of this level while I was doing eyecandy for Yasco's
level "Fear The Carrot". The idea was that I would start a
level with the Thermal K1 tileset, called "Back to your roots!".
After drawing the layout in JCS, I decided that the Thermal K1 tileset
didn't really fit well to the level. Then, I started to browse my tileset
list and I ended up with Swamps. I already had a little bit experience
with this set (The Mosquito Coast) and I decided that another Swamps
level wouldn't hurt anyone. I picked the evening version because that's
the one who is used less and I think it fits nicely to the atmosphere
of the level.
The level is not too big, and the layout is pretty simple: it looks like
a clover. There are two Powerups in the level (RF and Bouncie) and I
guess the level is pretty well balanced.
Recommendation: Duels are the best
solution, perhaps a 2vs2.

Level 2: Tigris Caves
From the deep jungles of the JJ2 world, we
travel away to a much dryer place: the burning deserts. You can wander
around for miles without seeing anything else as sand, but this level takes
place on a place with slightly more vegetation than in an ordinary desert:
in an Oasis. To be exact, in some irrigated caves somewhere on the traject
of the Tigris river.
As you might have expected, this level uses one of Blade's best tilesets:
Oasis. This means lots of palm trees, beautiful caves and even a few buildings.
And, of course some water of the river at the bottom side. The
flag bases are placed in the upper corners, and it will take some time
before everything is seen. The level contains three Powerups: Bouncie,
Toaster, and Blaster. For food lovers there are enough carrots (one Full
NRG and two minors) so have fun!
Recommendation: At least 2vs2. 3vs3 would be possible easily I
guess.

Level 3: EFIL CASTEL WIT WATER
LOL!!!111
Another level, with a totally different setting.
We move back (or forward, whatever) in time to the Middel Ages for this
level: a huge and sinister ghost castle in the middle of a dark forest.
Not really a nice place to hide for the rain, I suppose :) Anyway, a small
group of rabbits entered theforgotten castle to play a small CTF game in
the dark. Don't get scared away, and beware of hidden dangers...
This level was created during the early days of January 2005, after R3ptile
decided to introduce his JJ2WC CTF Contest. I directly started with drawing
certain layouts and I ended up with the layout of this level. After integration
of the layout in JCS, I noticed the level probably would be too small for
a decent 3vs3 match. That's why I cancelled this one as my JJ2WC Entry
and I just made this a regular level in the pack. It has three Powerups
(RF, Seeker and Bouncie) and a lot of other regular weapons. Have fun!
Recommendation: This would be big enough for a 2vs2, but a duel
would be good too.

Level 4: Quasar Quandary.
After I finished EFIL CASTEL WITH WATER LOL!!!111
I planned to create a new level for JJ2WC. After looking a while for the
tileset, I decided that BlurredD's Odyssey set would be the best one for
this entry. I started to draw some basic layouts, and I ended up with something
which actually worked.
The layout is slightly different from earlier levels in this pack: instead
of a square level which was completely accessible, this level is located
somewhere in the top of a large space tower, a few hundred miles above
the atmosphere. The bases are placed on opposite sides and there are many
ways to move around. I put three Powerups in this level: Seeker, Toaster
and Bouncie. There's also one Full NRG carrot to keep you alive. I designed
this level for the JJ2WC CTF Contest, and I hope it has a good chance for
winning it.
Recommendation: As it is for JJ2WC, I think it's big enough
for a decent 3vs3, and a 2vs2 should do well too.

Other information, credits, and bugs:
Have fun with the levels I gave you in this
pack. All four of the levels were made by me, and the tilesets are made
by BlurredD (Odyssey, Castle 2 Night conversion) Blade (Oasis) and Agama
(Swamps Evening). The music was taken from www.modplug.com and some files
from my Jazz2 folder.
I can't really tell how much people beta-tested this thing, but I think
there are about 30, so I won't list them here (it's better to list
no-one than to list 20 people and to forget someone) My special thanks
goes out to XLM; all members supported me many times during the creation
of this pack. Thank you all!

There's one very annoying bug in the Quasar Quandary
level: when you're hosting this level and other people want to join there
will get an Amnesia error a lot of times. This is probably a tileset/music/conflict,
and it only occurs when people download the level for the first time.
Second time everything should work without problems.

What I'm going to do after this? I don't really know,
I guess I'll low down for a while so I can work with all my strength
on my new Single Player-episode, which will be released somewhere in
2006. Perhaps this will be the last Multiplayer thing I ever make, but
you'll never know! ;)
