And something big this is!
The download was faster than I though when looking at the description, but thats prolly because I chose the right time…
There are many level and / or tilesets in the zip file which is good.
As Blade said most of them use the overused diamondus and carrotus tileset and the levels dont seem to be finished on some parts. However a cool background on most levels and some interesting stuff makes the levels interesting to play. The Blue world level for instance has great variation and background, like the weirldlyness (or something level) which also has messed up :) pallettes and colors.
The levels are IMO meant for 2 – 4 player battle in most stuff and the next level settings of all levels is wrong (no sequence just level by level).
All in all I wouldnt say it deserves the 8.7 given by blade, but more of a…. 7.7
PERFECTO!!
Yeah, I like this pack! This is very good, mostly. Evilmike has made a big count of cool levels and putted it in a single pack. He has used mostly Carrottus and Diamondus tilesets, but there’s too his own ones and other people’s. The levels are race, battle, treasure and ctf levels. The levels have lots of pure ideas, and the level design is so accurate. I like it. The weapon placement is in good condition. And the musics are cool tracks from JJ2. But I think the biggest goof is that the levels are not connected to each other. If you have to change the level, you gotta go to the menu and search the next level from the list. And the level names are miscellaneous. It can be hard to search Evilmike’s all the levels from the list. My opinion is that Evilmike should categorize his levels like this EvilmikesBattle1.j2l, EvilmikesRace1.j2l, etc… And I couldn’t run the level called “Desert Of Death”, because the game couldn’t find the level Evilmike5.j2l. Don’t ask me how that happened. There’s one more thing to whine. In some levels there are not start points for Jazz and Spaz, only MP starts, but that’s kinda little problem.
Anyway, this pack rocks. These levels are so great that I should host a server with one of these levels. Great job, Evilmike!
And Evilmike wishes all of us tell our favourite level. My favourite was definitely that JJ1 Diamondus level “Shine-O-Rific Land”.[This review has been edited by Blade]
I felt like returning to the jazz2 community with something big :)
hmm, what’s that of one sugar rush every level? personally, i had at least three of ‘em every level. in “Backstreet rabbits”, i even initiated a new rush before the old one finished. that’s the only thing on this episode that bothered me a bit: it’s so easy (an episode where i end up with 86 lives is easy in my opinion). still, this episode is some great work. the eyecandy is almost perfect. for some reason, the game crashed every time i found a secret level, i found three of ‘em and i couldn’t enter one (but that’s probably because of my evil and twisted computer). just cut down a bit on pickups next time, and it will be perfect. Great job! :)
Well, To make a long story short here…
Mode Of Play: 0.5/1.0
Eyecandy: 5.0/5.0
Tileset: 2.0/2.0
Gameplay: 0.7/1.0
Music: 1.0/1.0
It’s a 9.2. ;)
well looks like i have got to downlaod this one!
Awesome level! I love the eyecandy. -.2 for use of carrotus tileset. Eyecandy is GREAT! I don’t see why people are complaining about lack of weapons. I think there are just enough. Did I mention how good the eyecandy was?
Very kuel set!It totally ruled with all the blood and gore and spaz in that big water tank being tested on!
It was the bomb!Really nice anims too.Nice set,Good eyecandy too.It gets a 8 from me.
D/L THIS PEOPLE![This review has been edited by Zieg]
This level was pretty good. The background rocked!Like Enigma said though
it is a little small for just a few people. To make a long story short well I will…
Eye Candy:good I epecially liked the water stuff near the bottom of the level.
Game Play:excellent
Tileset used:very good and very kuel indeed
This gets an 8.2 from me and also…
YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THIS NOW PEOPLE!!
“Knightly Kill” is another pretty average level using the well-known “Castle” tileset.
The overall design is above average, but there are some aspects i dislike…some sucker tubes or the many warps, for example. The room filled with super goodies (full energy carrot and a shield!) is a bit overdone, too. Nevertheless, there is some nice eyecandy in the level.
The copter event stinks, because Lori can’t grab it. Next level setting is also wrong.
Really, the mentioned problems have to lower the rating a bit, sorry. But hardcore battle fans may want to download this, i guess (six points; what did you expect? :-).
Heh! I have to say, i really like this new level called “Pyramid Battle” (boring name, as always). Mainly because it uses a tileset that was, as far as i can remember, never used before in a battle level, namely the breath-taking “Egypt_Light” by Kejero. Very good idea, F
Apart from that, the (large) level has a quite proper design (including weapon placement) and some good-looking impressing eyecandy (well, maybe thats caused by the tileset :). The oriental background music fits perfect and sounds a bit weird (even better :).
Conclusion: if you have five or more people in your Internet server, this will be automatically great fun! If not, you will still enjoy the beauty of the tileset and the weirdness of the music. In any case, i RECOMMEND “Pyramid Battle” as a MUST DOWNLOAD for all us people from the western world. Let’s walk like egyptians! :-)
hmm still no rating here..lets get started:
an early christmas level, using the holiday hare tileset – obvious choice :)
although looking good when i entered the level, the moment i started hopping around (and boy do i like hopping around…ok irrelevant) it felt like a big confusing mess (no offence). the level looked more like a single player level than a battle area. it even has useless stuff like hurt events..which is really a bad idea in battle. weapon placement was a bit messy, but works fine.
despite the fact that the author didnt really think about how this level would be playable on the internet (maybe because of inexperience? try to practice), this is a nice level for the battle fans out there. the rest might want to have it.
I have trouble downloading this file, which might be my connection right now (less than 1 kbps)…
Sooooo im afraid I cannot rate this yet.
My review will be altered if this is to work later.
For now, other people go and rate this!!!
First of all let me take a look at the other reviews. They all seem to take in mind the looks of the tileset, which indeed is important.
This level uses the very big and very nifty Egypt_light tileset from tomb rabbit (by Kejero). That makes the looks well taken care of and the eyecandy is indeed well placed.
The level has some major emptyness and is Lori-unfriendly in some points but thats not important as it is 1.23 (as it should be!!!).
The weapon and event placement is a bit on the bad side in some points to me and needs improvement.
I would recommend downloading this level and I give it a big 7.7
Heh, I do really like this one. I’m not actually a big capture-the-flag fan, but ShadowGpW has done a impressive work. The eye-candy rocks, and weapon placement is in good condition. I liked the music as well :) .[This review has been edited by Blade]
I think this lvl is fine in almost all options. The lvl is not too big or too small, nice music (yep I disagree with Inf Spaz). The gameplay in this battle is good I think, enough moving space. Enough weapons for sure ;) eyecandy looks well….the only thing that a bit bugs me is the choose of much springs. Overall I think this a great job of Fire :-)
The use of the Egyptian tileset in this level is very well done. The whole level has a very ancient feel to it, whic is what I expect the designer was going for. The level is realy fairly big with lots of open space, which allows more for the “hunt-them-down-and-kill-them” aspect of battle. Weapons are well placed and accessable. However, the lack of secrets and the presence of only two warps to move players arround the expance lowered the review by a little. Overall, a well done level.
The first lvl was Bad
i wouldn`t realy call it a lvl
Sorry
for the 2 lvl i kinda liked it
the Layout was ok in my opinion
u could make it better
Download ? u r Choice
i wont rate lvl 1
a 6.0 for lvl 2
u could add more things and delete some things like the arrows

First of all: HOW do you think of making a level without jcs? that would be rather impossible now wouldnt it?
Second: Readme included, which is good.
As for the level itself:
This level uses the castle tileset and has the standard castle music file. Although it looks okay I think weapons and springs are overplaced. The eyecandy is okay as well, but offers nothing ‘special.’
I would recommend downloading this if you are a fan of castle levels or if you are a collector like myself.
