This is a nice idea but it is not executed very well.
EYECANDY
Most of the eyecandy in the original Battle1,2 and 3 levels is still present. There is a new background with the castle pillars and the Tubelectric “EPIC” speakers. It does look good but not there isn’t really much originality in the way of eyecandy. Try adding more of your own instead of just using the original.

GAMEPLAY
You start off the level in a room where you can choose which Battle level you want to play in. But this is where the problems begin. For starters, if you were playing a Duel you would have a hard time finding the opponent because they might be in one of the other levels and the combined size of all the levels is HUGE!
This would be OK if you had say 6 or more players.
4/10
WEAPONS & ITEM PLACEMENT
All of the original weapons and items from the original Battle levels are still present. Seeker PU is still too campy. Nothing has really changed with the weapon and item placement.
The campy Water Shield is still present.
There are 2 Seeker PUs since they are still in both Battle1 & 3 which is too much because you can gain Seeker ammo too easily.
You should have tried to change the placement of weapons and not make them too campy.

DOWNLOAD?
While the idea and concept of this level is good it is just not executed very well. Also, since the level is TSF only, not everyone can play it.
So, no download recommendation. :(
Please do not re-upload this again :P Anyway, the first level by Dodges, it’s a quite nice symmetrical CTF-level using Carrotus 1.
Let’s start with the event placement. Two Full NRG’s (they are well placed) and 3 PU’s (seeks, bouncy and RF). They are well spread, so you must use the whole level, which is always a good thing. There are also two coinwarps, leading to the Seek PU-room. There are plenty of coins, which is good, so the PU is easy accessible, I really like it. The ammo shapes are boring, only squares or lines. The ammo choise is okay, I guess. Make the shapes more original next time, please.
Now the eyecandy. You used layer 3 quite well. You used the ‘brown cave’-tiles on layer 4, used layer 5 and 7 for background. Maybe next time use layer 6 and 7 instead and use layer 5 for more background. Anyway, there’s enough EC in this level, except some parts (like the lower corners) which feel really empty. You removed the minor bugs (GJ) and I really like the plants in the walls, it adds a bit more color. And yes, you changed the textured background (which is good), but I don’t like it green :P.
The gameplay is nice. You can reach the bases in 3 ways, but only leave them in one way, which might be in a problem. The ammo is okay, still, this level feels Spaz-biased. It’s hard to reach certain platforms with Jazz (if you don’t believe me, try it). There is enough ammo for this size level, two Full NRG’s and 3 PU’s are okay as well. Some things, like treestomps and giant carrots aren’t really good for the flow, but the flow is okay in the rest of the level.
Still, the level seems a bit ‘normal’, nothing special. Anything, there’s nothing wrong with that, I think it will play well and it’s really good for a first level. Keep up the good work!
That makes it unzip to a directory called Insomniac Carrots in your JJ2 directory, and that’s something which we generally don’t want.
[Misinformation fix. ~cooba]
Please don’t put the files inside a folder in the zip.
The level feels kind of generic, which is unsuprising for a level made with this tileset. The gameplay is fairly smooth, although the bases are far too easy to defend. No real problems with the eyecandy, but I don’t really think this music fits. In general, this is a fairly decent, but pretty bog standard CTF level.
Best CTF level by FS in my opinion. Very original too.

WOW! What a great level! Perfectly strategical, with an original theme makes it the best level yet in my opinion.

What Bluespaz said.
Introduction
It’s been a while since I reviewed but I promised PurpleJazz to review his pack. This pack was going to have 5 levels at first, but it seems the author didn’t want to make another level.
Gameplay
The levels in this pack are all unsymmetrical. The layouts of the levels are a bit experimental, but there’s nothing really wrong with them. The levels don’t have some random platforms, but they are well planned. I think that Sunken Realm has the best layout, but Altitude Terrace and Evening Shades have good layouts too and some new concepts. Doomed Citadel is not bad either, but it can’t compete with the other three levels. People might call Altitude Terrace confusing at first because it’s not easy to learn. A nice concept used is that in Sunken Realm you start with a Gun8 Power-Up.
Eye candy
In my opinion the level with the best eye candy is Altitude Terrace because it uses all layers and the layers have lots of stuff. The other levels also have good eye candy.. it’s pretty original in some places. Sunken Realm uses Mystic Isle II, which hasn’t been used before the old one got updated. It has a nice background with a translucent layer 6. It didn’t crash me though. There is enough eye candy in the walls and also on places where you can actually go.
Placement of stuff
The ammo placement in the levels is nice, with some quite good shapes. I think some people might think there is not enough ammo, especially at the right side in Evening Shades. That level has a Full NRG on an interesting place, a RF PU that’s not very easy to get, and fly carrots. Sunken Realm has a Full NRG and a +1 carrot and they are close to each other. Nothing really wrong here.
Further comments
Because these levels have some original concepts they might not be very competitive. However, I think Sunken Realm can be a good level to play in. These levels are good to host in so-called ‘Random Levels’ but I think they’re more than that. It’s unfortunate that this pack only has four levels, but they’re really good. A CTF fan should download this, they’re well-known for some people already but I’m sure that there are still enough people that don’t have the levels yet.
Cool lvl! :)

Bleh, not good. :/
Too many obstacles = not good for race
~BS7
One thing to say – THE EC IS AWESOME!
It’s just a shame that the layouts are way too simple.
~BS7
The gameplay gets a bit frusstrating sometimes and i think there is too much EC for a race lvl. DR though.

Nice levels! Very original.
awesome level :) btw, nice atmosphere.
nice level with some good ideas in it.. those upside down springs are annoying though. :/
fu… level!

Starting Comments
It’s been a while since I last reviewed something… time to fire up my old writing skills.
Gameplay:
Although I didn’t test this in a bunny-infested online server, I got a good look at the gameplay after all. The level runs really smooth. That’s nice AND practical, since it’s a PIT level. Bad flow in a pit level means unsuspected deaths and therefore isn’t good. The level plays really fast, though a copter event makes sure that there will remain easy targets on the map. ;)
Atmosphere:
The level feels really calm, really serene. The tileset has been put to good use and the eyecandy is (not everywhere, but still) quite original. The music fits the level really well, even for a fast-paced battle level.
Eventing:
The ammo placement isn’t all too shabby either. There are plenty carrots for a pit level and the ammo isn’t too scarce either. The fact that RF’s and TNT’s are missing is a bit of a shame for a PIT level, since they easily knock someone down. All and all, nice placement, equally divided power-ups and a warp. YAY!
Bonusses and substractions
None.
Overall
A nice PIT level, well worth the download. You should collaborate more.

Keep it going, guys!
8.1? Errr… NO! This isn’t worth anywhere near 8. Poor palette and colours. Bad quality DOOM tiles have been added to an existing Hotel tileset and looks very bad.
No textured background. I can’t see how the DOOM characters and enemies would be useful in a level at all.
Also, the filename is far too long. Just call it DOOM2 or something.
