Very good.
The new enemies work also very well.
The last level are all congrats!
But the levels are a little to hard.
Too many gems I, think. But it still is many many fun.
Download recommend.
It contains a link to the place where you can download the around 2,7 MB pack, Trafton :P
Actually, I find that the eyecandy is well-done, but there is wayyyyyyy too much of it. This is, quite simply, a prime example of a level that contains way too much eyecandy for its own good. How is this possible? Just take a look at this level. Vines are everywhere. It is nearly impossible to see where you are going in some places, but there is no denying that the eyecandy is well-done. As most know by now, eyecandy is not as important to me as gameplay is. And this level does not do wonders in gameplay. Flow would have been pretty good if it wasn’t for the extremely excessive eyecandy. It’s simply very hard to see through the tangle of vines, etcetera, and it quickly becomes annoying. I’m not a fan of when people who label their levels “classics,” and I can’t say that this deserves the title. I can see that a lot of effort was put into this level, but it lacks in gameplay and goes far too overboard in eyecandy. Well-done…too well-done, in fact. I will rate this level in more detail when I get enough time. For now, I give this a seven point five and download recommendation, unless you absolutely despise layer 1-3 eyecandy being everywhere. In that case, avoid at all costs.
This level is the proof that levels also can have to much eye candy. Which makes it pretty tough to play. But anyway, since it must have taken a pretty long time to make, I’ll give you 7.2 for the effort.
If you like to play in a graphical fest, download this. If you like to play rather play battle1.
HoLLa.
HoLLa.
I’ll use this! Thx dude. Great Job.
HoLLa.
Firesword…..You did a good job. ;p I like it. It would be great for 2 on 2 duels. ;p GJ. Peace EaZZiE.
HoLLa.
Yeah….Violet did a very good rating and I also think it deserves a 7. For all the same reasons as Violet said. Needs to be a little bit HARDER on the last obstacle. Keep CREATING. Races are very very rare these days. OH WAIT, Violet already said that….oops. shesh. ;p
PeacE EAZZiE.
exceptional. the levels are great, deserving of a 10, but there are some problems with eye candy that….are problematic. Other than that, this is one of the best packs you’ll download. certainly worth downloading
A nice level, good music choice. I feel there could of been more eyecandy and detail in the level, as well as that it is too small. Lots of hidden powerups, nice ammo placement. Nothing really that is outstanding here, but a good CTF level to play if ur bored. 7.5, download it if you want
A fairly short level with few obstacles. The whole thing, except for the “last obstacle” can be breezed through in 30 seconds, with very little thought spent on getting around stuff. The most difficult part of this first stretch is at one point there’s a small hole in it.
It gets a bit more difficult on the second lap, or for anyone who’s not the server (the level has to be played in Race to work, so the host goes over everything first). There’s a little collapse scenery in the level, which is faster then the route under it, but not by a lot.
Ok, the “last obstacle” consists of (wait for it) PLATFORMS. As in swinging platforms. Which only work in cooperative on the internet. And you can’t play this level in cooperative, as it uses set lap warps. So you’re forced to play it on one computer if you want to race in it.
The layer 4 eyecandy’s pretty good, except for the pillars that sit on top of collapse scenery, but there’s practically nothing other then that.
I’ll give it a 7, because it is playable under one condition, and also race levels are rare. Would have probably gotten a higher rating if the “last obstacle” was different. (very VERY hard.. hehehehe)
I dreamed about program like this!
And it’s easy to use!
White Rabbit, 10 surely is best rating for this!
c’mon give it a rating…
Me and Madness made this level because race levels are rare…
I never reviewed my own levels…
Snorky is my brother, he has no E-mail adress. And you can’t submit yourself to J2o without an E-mail adress.
if you dont belive me check the photo’s, there are pics of me and Snorky.[This review has been edited by _Jaws]
Just a great program. I’m sure you must have this if you host CTF. It’s very irritating taht some people is using colored names. Now you can have colored names.
The prog haves a nice salamander layout and can be hided.
And WR, I don’t think you CAN make a long review ;P
It just rule.
Too bad that last obstacle won’t work online…
warps are bad in CTF. but the level itself is good, but small.but the background is little empty. but the music is pleasant, reminds me ALIEN. but the level is worth 6(is that to many “but”?:P )[This review has been edited by GAMER]
One Silver Penny? What an evil idea…
GAMEPLAY:
I can’t find anything horribly wrong with this. I can get around easily. It looks balanced for the most part. I don’t think I can get stuck anywhere. And one coin for the coin warp sorta adds a little originality. I barely played it online, but everything seems alright; No real complaints here.
EYE CANDY:
The eye candy is pretty good. It looks a little bland with all of the purple on purple on purple, but that’s just the tileset. Other than that, it’s definitely above average.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
And here is the evilest part of the level: a full energy carrot only accessible with a coin. Nice idea, maybe too evil since you could hog the coin and keep anyone else from getting it. I like it; it adds some strategy. I have nothing bad to say about where the ammo and powerups have been placed.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
If you suddenly get the urge for a duel or a 2vs2, consider this evil level. I’m giving this an 8 just because.
I’m not going to rate this, but I don’t think it would get anything high. Why? I’m fairly sure the author spent hardly any work on it at all. It looks like he found an image, inserted it in a jigsaw making program, and uploaded it. How hardworking.
I’ll just write a short review, assuming that you won’t make any more CTF levels in the near future:
Just Your Typical Level
GAMEPLAY: Semi-cramped with bad spring usage. No borders at the top?
EYE CANDY: Not bad.
CARROT PLACEMENT: I’ll tell you when I find one.
AMMO PLACEMENT: Alright, but TNT?
HOST THIS OFTEN? Nah.
Non-Union Computer Store
GAMEPLAY: Kinda balanced, alright flow.
EYE CANDY: Almost slightly above average. Lighting at top might be too dark.
CARROT PLACEMENT: Probably too many carrots.
AMMO PLACEMENT: TNT again! Why? Else generally decent.
HOST THIS OFTEN? Nope, but I almost like it.
LabLocked
GAMEPLAY: Not too balanced at all.
EYE CANDY: Average.
CARROT PLACEMENT: A bunch of them thown around once again.
AMMO PLACEMENT: Almost alright.
HOST THIS OFTEN? Much less often than the last level.
Stupid CTF
GAMEPLAY: Simple.
EYE CANDY: A change of pace with a moving layer. Nifty.
CARROT PLACEMENT: None that I know of.
AMMO PLACEMENT: Simple with no powerups.
HOST THIS OFTEN? Still no, but I somehow like this one the most.
Overall review: Some of these levels use shields and they all aren’t too spectacular. It may have been accepted back then, but these levels are outdated. They don’t even loop completely, but I suppose you wouldn’t care too much since you didn’t update them in years. I’m not even sure if you care about this review. Anyway, I’ll be nice and make 6.7 my rating. I would say play this mainly for nostalgic purposes.[This review has been edited by BlurredD]
