Fixed..sorry bout the complexity....Ill have to make it easier somehow...not sure how though !

Found a bug !...the filetypes must be lowercase eg. ".bmp" not ".BMP"

=====================================

1) Copy the image you want (the carrot)
2) Open the directory with the editor in and go into the folder named particles, paste the image there.

3) Load my level editor
4) click place entity - click particle Source

5) Click Set texture
6) Click the up arrow until you see you carrot

7) Setup the values

White Rabbit May 7, 2005 01:27 PM

Oooh... *click click*
Aaaaaaaah... *wirr flash click*
*claps*

I claim page 15. Is that carrot really 3D? Can we see it 360?

Baggers May 7, 2005 02:00 PM

No particles arnt 3D...they just always face the camera, it generaly is used for fire and such...the carrot was just because it was requested as an example !

Just out of interest, how complicated did you find it ...have you got a reasonable grasp of it yet ?

-EDIT-

Heres a zip with some more particles for you to play with :-) I found them on free sites which was cool.
http://www.unseenconcept.net/JazzJac...aParticles.zip

Have a try at these effects they are pretty cool ! Just pick the texture and set the values to what you see in the pics.

Onag May 7, 2005 05:44 PM

This is nice!

I found a bug: Enter a large value (4 digits) in any field. You can no longer edit that field. You can't backspace, delete, etc. It essentially "locks" that field until you close and re-open the editor.

Is it possible to set negative values for speed and acceleration?

Very cool. And easy to use once you understand what everything does.

Baggers May 8, 2005 12:11 AM

Brillian thanks...ill go and fix it now, and yes it should be possible for negative values, i'll have to code them in aswell, back later.

White Rabbit May 8, 2005 05:02 AM

That ring-of-fire explosion reminds me of the explosions from Wild Metal Country. :D Make more shockwaves and explosions like that plx k thanks.

Olsen May 8, 2005 07:49 AM

omg Awesome!! I've been away this weekend and boy, what did I miss! Gotta check it all out. :D

Hare May 13, 2005 06:42 PM

Hi guys. I just wanted to keep you up to date on the status of the jazz model. He still isn't finished, and I'll have to wait until I download an update to my modeling software before refixing the UV map (I lowered the polycount a bit and now the UV map needs retweaking).

I saw Johnny's model when I did a google search. He did an awesome paint job on that thing! I was blown away. I'm inspired. Someone should post the image here, it is looking really good.

The game is looking nice too. LOL, I'm salavating in expectation.

Jazz model. Uv map a little messed up...

i have good hope everyting will be back to normal soon.
i have seen a lot of files in ./www/baggers/ and ./www/razz/.

*lurns making backups is 1337 the hard way*

Baggers May 17, 2005 08:19 AM

Its ok...i should be upgrading my webspace's size and bandwidth limit soon !...just looking into it now.
Oh and heres Jonny's jazz, nice to here your still around Hare, oh the model you sent me of jazz wasnt meant to be boned was it...as it wasnt when i loaded it into milkshape.

Olsen May 17, 2005 09:19 AM

Nice, but he looks like he's on crack (too happy :P) and the green parts should be a bit textured.

Baggers May 17, 2005 10:41 AM

Yeah its still very wip hence the lack to texture on the green bits...When Jonny saw Hares model he was impressed so he said he'd like to try a different kind of style for the texturing, so this is his interpretation !

piet May 18, 2005 12:52 AM

you can post the skin you are using now in the art section.
so others can make skins for it

piet May 18, 2005 02:09 PM

http://www.eckhart.da.ru/baggers/
how bout that, lucky you. dont thank me, thank file scavenger for recovering and thank astalavista for providing cracked version }>

Baggers May 19, 2005 09:51 AM

"you can post the skin you are using now in the art section.

Brilliant Idea !
I'll post a link when its up

Olsen May 19, 2005 10:19 AM

So, no new progress? :P This is just getting better and better!

Baggers May 19, 2005 10:37 AM

Olsen: Oi !...no nothing new, last college day today so as soon as coursework had finished i was out drinking !...so i been socialising im afraid, and i may be out all weekend aswell but it is study period so i can get some work done..plus im working on it tonight.

Ok folks here is the link to the jazz skin, the file is 4.5 meg as ive included a file called viewer which when you run shows jazz with the skin on, so you can see your progress on the model !

http://www.unseenconcept.net/JazzJac...t/JazzSkin.zip

Hope you like !

piet May 20, 2005 02:06 AM

so the x file is the model?
EDIT: yes it is figured it out allready

piet May 20, 2005 03:09 AM

http://razz.eckhart.da.ru/baggers/index.php?page=skin

i have made this little script thingy so you dont have to seek for a image host.

you must save the file as jpg so dont submit the BMP.

i took the model and made it celshaded maybe i can use it in razz arena, but i want to see more of that other model to.

i think this will help a lot of you making a skin:

Stormie May 21, 2005 10:40 AM

Nice. This is going really well. Keep it up.

Hare May 21, 2005 10:32 PM

Oops!

I actually plan to change the UV map though. I'm going to have a larger area on the bitmap for his face, and change some things around so I can get higher pixel resolution for the parts that need it more.

And the model version I sent wasn't boned yet. I heard someone say that GameSpace doesn't allow changing the UV map after bones have been put into place, so I was going to get the UV map finished first.

Baggers May 22, 2005 05:50 AM

Piet: Nice !....oh and the skin submitter is cool !

Hare: Cool just checking .. hmm ah well if people want they can play with the skin and we'll put the new one up when its done ....good too hear from you though !

Olsen May 22, 2005 08:32 AM

Here's mine, a simple spaz skin ;D

Baggers May 22, 2005 09:28 AM

hehe cool !
just wondering why did you change the extension from .bmp to .jpg ?

Other than the smile which looks odd(maybe it looks better from a different angle?), I have to say I love that texture work. It gives me the same trippy feeling I get from playink the first Jak game(which is a good thing).

I did not, the script thingy he made (piet) changed the filename. Read his post and he tells it there.

Baggers May 22, 2005 12:20 PM

Aye but his is a jpeg whereas yours is a bmp renamed to a jpg

Olsen May 24, 2005 09:39 AM

Oh ok. Well, ok :P

Progress? 8D

Baggers May 24, 2005 10:32 AM

Im working on some code to generate textures for walls...before as you saw i could only use one tile for an entire wall, so im writing a program to randomly generate textures to be used on walls !

It should be ready by the end of tonight !

Olsen May 24, 2005 11:06 AM

Sound interesting. :)

Baggers May 24, 2005 12:53 PM

Just completed the texture generator. This is designed to solve the problem i previously had with walls looking boring as i could only texture them with one tile repeated over and over again.
eg: Here

How however i put the tiles i wish to use in a folder within my program and it will randomly generate a seamless texture for a wall.
This piccy only shows tiles of the same size (the slight graphical error at some joins is just me be too lazy to trim the tiles correctly)

whereas this one is made of various tiles of different sizes.

Im pretty pleased with this actualy !...i may incorperate it into my level editor for jazz so nice wall textures can be made on the fly.

Baggers May 24, 2005 01:24 PM

nOOb has just got me the Castle tiles, and so i put all the ligther wall blocks in one directory and hit generate...this took roughly a third of a second.
http://www.unseenconcept.net/JazzJac...ure/Tiles3.jpg

And heres a texture ive put on some boxes...i think it looks pretty good !

Olsen May 25, 2005 10:23 AM

Nice. :D This can make some interesting things ;)

Stijn May 25, 2005 11:37 AM

Well, that's definetely better-looking than before. Variety is a good thing

I'm wondering though, that texture-generator, does it only work if all images it uses as its "feed" are the same size or can we use images of different sizes? Some tiles are just part of a larger "block", like the 4-tiles blocks in the castle wall.

Baggers May 25, 2005 02:30 PM

As long as the pixel size of the larger tiles in a multiple of the smalest tile...eg for jazz each single tile is 32x32 pixels, so valid sizes for bigger tiles are ones like 64x64, 32x64, 96x32...so yeah it can handle bigger tiles !

cooba May 26, 2005 01:01 AM

That texture is a definate improvement, although it's still gimmicky.
