Yes, you can use them in keyboard 1. You just may need to change the keys for keyboard 2 to something else first.

yawnmoth Feb 6, 2010 07:33 PM

I'd start a new thread but apparently am unable to do so, so I'll just post here, instead.

I'm stuck, in Jazz Jackrabbit 2. In the level entitled Jungle Jump, there are boulders that fall from the ceiling and roll after you. I somehow managed to get on top of a pair of these boulders, while it's still on the ceiling, and am now stuck.

What's worse is that that's my latest save, so unless I can somehow manage to kill Jazz, I can't progress in the game. And I've actually tried to kill Jazz. I've unleashed every weapon in his arsenal and nothing happens. If I bounce back with the rockets I bounce back into rock. If a dynamite explosion would push me down all it does is push me down into a boulder.

Any ideas?

Troglobite Feb 6, 2010 09:24 PM

Type jjk. This is a cheat code that will kill Jazz. Then forget that cheats exist, and continue playing.

Violet CLM Feb 7, 2010 12:40 AM

Or if you want a more detailed series of cheats that will get you out but not lose you a life: Highlight block to show spoiler: Type jjnowall, followed by jjfly, jjnowall, jjfly, and jjfly. Make sure you come out in the open air somewhere. Essentially, boulders are buggy and you can't get unstuck from that (or anything else) without cheating.

Custom colors

Could you tell me how can i have custom colors (also custom palette colors) in Jazz Singleplayer ?

Jgke Jan 21, 2011 12:31 PM

You cannot do it without haxing. And that, I think, is against the forum rules, so I won't tell about that.

Seren Jan 21, 2011 12:47 PM

Actually, in case you mean the thing that is done in Agama's Swamps, or more visibly in my Glowee, it's absolutely non-haxish. The effect however doesn't depend on the level, but on the tileset. Just replace the palette entries used by JJ2 with your colors of choice.

Another thing you can mean is use of the JJM script thingie. Not sure if player's colors change would work in SP, but at least a palette change should.

If you won't specify what kind of a change do you mean, it's really hard to help you. Do you even know anyone who's using custom colors in SP? Maybe would be smarter to ask him instead. And if you don't, wonder why do you even ask.

Friend, i want to use colors like this:

Just rabbit with custom palette which changes with level palette.
Editable with JazzTool or jed07b-e...

In singleplayer !!! :)

Seren Jan 24, 2011 12:45 PM

Huh. May be reachable with JJM (needs editing the levels and using an external program). Not sure however. In case it's not, yet you're very determined to use custom colors in SP, you can use JSD. I really don't recommend this solution though, as it'd need editing all the sprites of the rabbits, it's simply not worth it. Guess the simplest possibility would be using JJ2+ Singleplayer mode for a server in local network. It'd probably have downsides as well of course, even though I don't know what kind of them since I never really tested that mode exactly.

Edit: Oh man, I should seriously learn to say things in a better order, from the best to the worst. Don't feel like changing it now though.

Treylina Jan 24, 2011 02:07 PM

Hmm, I actually have a program (but made by someone else and isn't being distributed yet) which can edit fur locally and even enables you to use it in single player too. It has some other nice additional features to it as well. I should really prompt...

Nerd Jan 25, 2011 01:30 AM

You can use Cheat Engine to change your fur in SP (I have done it). You have to scan for the current fur color indices. That way you should be able to find two memory locations with 4-byte variables, one holding the "current fur" and the other the "permanent fur". Alternatively, you could use the memory addresses provided in here.

Admins, I'm not sure if sharing this information is against your terms, so please delete this post if it is. :p

Yes, sharing information from J2O is against the JCF rules. What the hell?

Stijn Jan 25, 2011 04:24 AM

The JCF is not, nor never has been, J2O.......

Joking aside, obviously it's allowed to post information that's widely available, on J2O of all sites, on this forum.

Nerd Jan 25, 2011 04:32 AM

I actually meant the Cheat Engine part, sorry for writing that post in a confusing way. I just asked to be sure, as Jake brought up the possibility of publishing cheating methods being forbidden.

Well, maybe I am just wrong.

Stijn Jan 25, 2011 04:39 AM

That mostly refers to tools used to hack other people's computers (the popular definition of "hacking"), not hacking the memory of your own PC.

Jgke Jan 25, 2011 04:59 AM

Okay, never mind then.

I might release it sometime after I rewrote a part of it and added 1.23 compatibility... (yes, I am the one who wrote the program) also, these "additional features", which are actually the main features, are in fact small tweaks to the JJ2 engine based on suggestions for JJ2+ which were (seemingly) ignored. (Hopefully they're not considered hacks/cheats, they don't allow you to do otherwise impossible things.)

The function allows you to change fur locally in multiplayer. While editing fur in SP is easy, you always have to kill your rabbit to display the modified fur in MP. The fur edits are immediately displayed, without killing your rabbit.

Camou Dec 16, 2011 07:12 AM

I haven't been here in AGES. Tried to search, but could not find an answer
Is .j2b playback broken in the newest JJ2+? Music in custom levels work, as long as they don't use .j2b.

Jgke Dec 16, 2011 08:42 AM

Not as far as I know.

Camou Dec 16, 2011 08:55 AM

Ergh :x any way to fix it? Music is not muted and at max volume, but there is no music in the Jazz levels or menus. Sounds do work.

cooba Dec 16, 2011 09:33 AM

Works for me

Jgke Dec 16, 2011 10:02 AM

And they work without plus on the same install? Try running as an administrator, perhaps?

Camou Dec 19, 2011 07:53 AM

Normal jazz2 1.23 works, on the same computer.
Though I got JJ2 from Abandonia and replaced all the .j2bs I already had, and for some reason it works now.

Grytolle Dec 20, 2011 12:17 AM

Camou is back :D!!

Love & Thunder Jan 3, 2012 02:19 PM

Sorry for the thread revival, but I need a question answered:

Where do I download the latest List Server Patch? The current link here is broken.

Jgke Jan 4, 2012 05:23 AM

Plus should have it?

Sean Jan 4, 2012 06:27 AM

I don't get why he's so anti-plus. It's not illegal in the slightest sense.

Jgke Jan 4, 2012 06:54 AM

It breaks JJ2's TOS, but that doesn't make it illegal.

Sean Jan 4, 2012 07:07 AM

Then again, as noted, uploading level packs to J2O breaks JJ2's TOS as well. :D

Love & Thunder Jan 4, 2012 06:11 PM

Plus is illegal because it modifies the JJ2 EXE, which is illegal except for home use. If someone can prove to me that JJ2+ isn't illegal, then I will get Plus. But, even then, I'm not sure my version of JJ2 is compatible(It's the LK Avalon TSF version).

And you would start distributing this .exe? JJ2+ does not give you a modified Jazz2.exe, it gives you a patch that automatically injects the plus.dll to JJ2. If you feel that modifying Jazz2.exe is illegal, you can always just run plus.exe which does nothing permanent to Jazz2.exe.

Love & Thunder Jan 4, 2012 11:45 PM

The UK.

Stijn Jan 5, 2012 03:42 AM

Did you ever play a level pack? Are you using JJ2 commercially?

Love & Thunder Jan 5, 2012 04:05 AM

Yes, I do download level packs off J2O, but I don't see how downloading levels off J2O is breaking the Terms of Service. It's against the Terms of Service to sell your levels(That's what it means by commercial use), but it's fine to just upload it online.

So, level packs are forbidden. By playing one, you have already violated the TOS, and it doesn't matter if you use plus or not.

Hm. Didn't know that. I'm sure Epic doesn't mind...

Wait a sec, CREATING?! What the hell?

And so far Epic hasn't minded JJ2+ either. It's your choise, shall you abandon the TOS completely, or just ignore the parts you don't like (does this sound familiar?)
