True, but fast fire seekers are the coolest.

White Rabbit Mar 12, 2005 02:38 AM

I like fastfire RFs too. :p It makes more noise and it disturbs the neighbours.

I claim page 2.

Nielsje Mar 17, 2005 12:38 PM

Anyone knows something about this?

It seems like the bases are missing but scoring/capturing still works.

White Rabbit Mar 17, 2005 12:44 PM

:O *phones up Eagle*

Blackraptor Mar 17, 2005 01:49 PM

I've had that once or twice.

Sprites/Anims misplaced or something?

White Rabbit Mar 17, 2005 02:26 PM

But how do you get that bug?

blurredd Mar 17, 2005 03:03 PM

That's what happens when you play Security Breach v2 too often.

Edit: Actually, I got the same bug just now when I joined the LB server. I would assume it has something to do with what the server is using, since I've never seen this bug with this level anywhere else.

I also found a floating dot (it looked like the light from a speed trail but in one spot), which was what my red arrow was pointing to instead of the red flag:

By the way, some springs seem to be missing as well. My only guess as to why this is happening is because the server is using the ghost thing that comes with PC4, but I somehow doubt it.

White Rabbit Mar 18, 2005 08:26 AM

I don't trust Blur's last comment at all. ;P Not after his tricks in my server last time...

blurredd Mar 18, 2005 10:21 AM

Heh, I think I would need to know exactly what's causing it first.

Unhit Mar 18, 2005 10:32 AM

I just discovered this thread right now. Neat stuff :D

White Rabbit Mar 18, 2005 02:05 PM

*Just*? Well, ok. :p

blurredd Apr 23, 2005 09:02 PM

I was undecided between this thread or a more recent one, but it felt more appropriate here even if it meant a revival (although this thread isn't that old). Anyway, below I posted a semi-ambiguous screenshot. It could be easy to figure, or it could take a while. And DizBob can't guess because I said so.

Blackraptor Apr 23, 2005 09:33 PM

The part of the small pillar where you are is in layer 3, and the part where the pepper spray is is in layer 5?

blurredd Apr 23, 2005 11:08 PM

Nope. That's not it at all.

White Rabbit Apr 24, 2005 01:30 AM

I don't quite understand the screenshot...are you stuck in the wall or something? Or is it the way that black mass of tiles cover about 2/3 of a tile?

Apr 24, 2005 04:19 AM

some wearder bug, when you get the flag in some servers, you lose it somehow, not by scoring or dieing, explain plz.

blurredd Apr 24, 2005 08:44 AM

Alex: In a word, lag. You've actually died but, because of lag you don't notice it. It usually only happens in really laggy servers.

As for my screenshot, I took it in Sacrifice in case you were wondering.

Bobby aka Dizzy Apr 24, 2005 08:55 AM

*wishes he could guess*

White Rabbit Apr 29, 2005 08:01 AM

YES! I'VE SOLVED IT NOT!

I have worked out where exactly in Sacrifice the bug happened, so I wonder if it HAS to be there or if it can take place anywhere? Oh, and it seems to me as if Blur's JJ2 screen has not been squeezed/compressed but has simply been made much thinner, while the heiht, I think, remains the same. Could be some kind of next lvl or death bug. NEED. MORE. DETAILS.

blurredd Apr 29, 2005 08:32 AM

I'm split between giving you 2 hints or not.

fiendmm++ Apr 30, 2005 04:43 PM

I'm confused on the flag bug...... But, the seeker bug thingy is old news.

White Rabbit May 1, 2005 02:44 AM

You shouldn't have changed your signature, Blur. It just doesn't fit into the default JCF theme.

Hint: give me 2 hints.

Stijn May 1, 2005 02:48 AM

And the links blend into the background.

How that flag bug is achieved might be better off left unrevealed since it could disrupt CTF games if it's abused. Then again, you can always kick/ban those who abuse it. Try figuring it out for yourself. And the seeker bug (although it works with any weapon) is indeed old, but I wanted to see who would get it.

To White Rabbit, I'm not giving you any hints but I will give you some advice. What you should do is find someone you know to work with, split up your resources, then together screen through all possible solutions.

And sers, what theme are you using that the links blend into background? I checked all of them and the closest ones that might cause a problem are the themes where the links are blue, but it's not that hard to read them.

Back on topic, I already have the next bug ready for posting once this one is solved.

minmay May 29, 2005 12:07 PM

I'm surprised nobody solved this. I didn't want to spoil it even though I knew it from the start, but here goes.

Blur is using splitscreen. He presses F3. That happens. Simple, no? Try it yourself.

Last time I checked, F3 was not a JJ2 bug.

minmay May 29, 2005 01:37 PM

However, it will cause that if you are using splitscreen. Therefore, I win.

You mean it will cause the pepper spray to be in front of layer 3?

blurredd May 29, 2005 02:06 PM

Minmay has got most of it. He's just missing one small part. And Blacky, in the screenshot, Spaz appears to be behind a background layer.

Bobby aka Dizzy May 29, 2005 02:08 PM

I think Minmay is close enough - the last part of the bug is easy to see when you actually try to splitscreen there.

minmay May 29, 2005 03:19 PM

*does a stupid victory dance*

blurredd May 31, 2005 12:09 AM

On to the next bug:

Another easy one, but it isn't general knowledge. The level is 20x15, uses just one layer, and has only two events. And in case you're wondering, the start position is where the blue Jazz is.

So, the question is, how was the flag captured?

Nielsje May 31, 2005 01:00 AM

Ehm... the red rabbit kiled the blue rabbit at the point where the red rabbit is located, and the blue rabbit warped back to the start position. During this warp he grabbed the flag :p

...just an idea :)

blurredd May 31, 2005 01:33 AM

That's one method, but not how it was done. I probably should've been more specific, but instead I'll just say who's right and who's wrong.

minmay May 31, 2005 05:16 AM

Eh, I don't feel like answering any more. I'll just let other people get them.

On a side note, I know this isn't the right answer but they could have wallclimbed.
Of course, then they'd have to use Spaz...

Ragnarok! May 31, 2005 11:33 AM

You used a megawarp or cheat file ;)

cooba May 31, 2005 11:34 AM

Come to think of it, there must be a reason why are the names set not to show up.

KRSplat May 31, 2005 12:55 PM

First Bug: The same way how when you die at a flag, you might be regenerated with the flag. Except you die at your own flag.

blurredd Jun 23, 2005 03:00 AM

I updated the screenshot for my latest bug so it's less deceptive. Try figuring it out now.

Ragnarok! Jul 3, 2005 03:00 AM

I still think that one is too hard. I think its a splitscreen game though.
