1)I can't join/host
2)I'm 15 - I dont have enough cash for old (500 mhz, maybe?) Computer to pluck routerless to net
3)I'm doing jazz levels :P
4)I'm soon playing WoW }>

Does that mean I'm your arch nemesis, or does it mean that's some very old quote of mine? Either way, I'm a little lost here.

Kohhrjacker Oct 6, 2005 12:23 PM

Umm... Er... I'm...
Ok, I'll tell. The game is a bit short. Also I'm playing the same levels so much, I've almost gone to serious gaming like Halo.

*Sniff*And I also can't seem to get a game server.

White Rabbit Oct 6, 2005 12:35 PM

A simple explanation for every active player's inactivity is that autumn and spring are work periods, while winter and summer are traditionally holiday periods.

!Tman! Oct 6, 2005 01:41 PM

SCHOOL DUDE WE GOTTA LEARN!!!

White Rabbit Oct 6, 2005 01:42 PM

Learn to use punctuation?

But you're right. :p

!Tman! Oct 6, 2005 03:24 PM

Sorry for my errors.... :(

CelL Oct 7, 2005 01:18 AM

Let's all go play jj2.

White Rabbit Oct 7, 2005 02:00 AM

Cell. >O Duel on Saturday evening?

Spaz777 Oct 7, 2005 04:09 AM

[QUOTE]You shuold get Project Controller 4 or TEC.exe, so you can host as 1.23... However, 1.23 players can't join if you host an 1.24-only level. =/

Ehy Grytolle, I'm seeing your screen, down of your post, where there are some colours for Spaz and Jazz: can you give me those colours?

White Rabbit Oct 7, 2005 07:51 AM

Ok, I've played today. I won a CTF game and a battle game in under 30 mins, which was fun (Spaz dies in such funny ways). It's fun just rampaging through public servers, rather than playing duels/2v2s. (See, this is why I like AYCR).

snzspeed Oct 7, 2005 09:07 AM

well WC3 TFT >>>>>>>> jj2, gg no re

Slaz Oct 7, 2005 09:19 AM

I know Jazz is not as active as a few years ago. But it's still fun (not TSF, but 1.23). And i don't think Jazz will die in these years, there are many active people on the community website, and I hear that #jj2 is very active too. The online play just lost it's power, a little bit..

ThunderPX Oct 7, 2005 09:38 AM

Because nobody is helping me with my router.

Not that #jj2 had much to do with the game JJ2 though.

(it was meant to be, but there isn't really any talk about JJ2 most of the time)

I agree though. Jazz won't die too fast.

Sasik Oct 7, 2005 12:45 PM

In fact, Jazz will not die ever ;P
It's hard to kill/murder a computer game ;_; Almost impossible in my opinion :p

FQuist Oct 7, 2005 01:13 PM

There's also death of natural causes :(

White Rabbit Oct 7, 2005 01:16 PM

Hey, ppl still play Pong.

Ragnarok! Oct 7, 2005 01:49 PM

Busy with school. Would play if I were allowed though.

Sonyk Oct 7, 2005 02:10 PM

I hate having to host with so much junk to protect my servers. Plus, the only servers being hosted are usually Battle1.

Nielsje Oct 7, 2005 02:30 PM

Reasons for not playing:

1) Studying at University
2) Work
3) Social Life
4) America's Army :p

The game really doesn't excite me anymore, and I just can't bring up the skill and motviation anymore to seriously compete in wars or tournaments. So the only real things I do right now in the business are concerning leadership ( XLM, 8-D ) and organizing (JJ2WC) and sometimes a bit leveldesign. Does that count?
Oh, yeah, I love to stay around in this community. YOU GUYS ROCK!

Nitro Oct 8, 2005 01:31 AM

no proper excuse really.
i can't host and want to play the levels i make.....can someone invent some like dedicated host that i an upload my levels to, like i will be a remote admin to it or someting? i don't understand much about this stuff but it's worth a shot.

Xobim Oct 8, 2005 04:17 AM

School eats away all my time. And I'm busy with some last-minute tinkering on my episode.

However, Autumn holiday starts within a week! \o/

A very good point for a short post like that. Pong was the first video game and people still play it as we speak! If Jazz still has a community that supports it, then it will never go die.

Xobim Oct 8, 2005 06:54 AM

Well, JJ2 has JCS. That would be the biggest reason JJ is still alive. Without JCS, no custom levels and no level-exchanging community. It's some sort of game-life-support program.

Slaz Oct 8, 2005 09:40 AM

Yes, I bought JJ2 in 1998 and I was losing interest in 1999, but later that year I found JCS into my JJ2 folder, I tried it, and then it was the coolest game I ever played! I downloaded much levels from Jazz2City and other Jazz2 sites when I found out that the levels where share-able. So you are right, without JCS Jazz already died for long!

But Pong and JJ2 are different. Pong is simplistic and has an odd charm to it, and you can find versions that will let you play alone. But JJ2 has a community where most people play for the internet play. In Pong, you can play alone or find a version like the original and get a friend or enemy to play. But most people in JJ2 would rather play online.

Slaz Oct 10, 2005 02:20 AM

I agree with you. The only real active thing from JJ2 is this forum and the online play, but there are still much new people coming every year. So Jazz will never die if this community is on the internet!

White Rabbit Oct 10, 2005 03:42 AM

Yesterday was a good day for JJ2. :D There were about 34 players online in 7 servers at peaktime, in the evening. I played a few fun CTF games and firmly established Jazz as the superior multiplayer character.

KirbySSB Oct 10, 2005 04:14 AM

I am trying to play again more, however nobody can join my levels. I hosted a bunch a week or two ago and people could join but now it seems they can't. Odd.

Erm, you can play JJ2 alone too.

DoubleGJ Oct 10, 2005 06:15 AM

And some people (like me for example) even like the singleplayer more than multi.

R3ptile Oct 10, 2005 06:48 AM

Life + other games such as UT2004 and SC
