It must be proven that it is him crashing, and not someone else framing him.

Do I want him back? No.
Do I think he should be banned for maliciously crashing servers? Yes.
Do I think he should stay banned beyond the original time period? No.

Do you think its useless to unban him, and then gather info again, to get to the conclusion he still crashes, and then ban him again? I do. I did it once, twice even. My principles stop me from doing it a 3th times.

I just dont see any reason to unban Orbitz, espescially not after the way he did to me a few days ago. (Saying he'd crash servers again and whatever till he got unbanned or something like that)

If something is agreed among all members of a certain group, do you think that individual members of that group should stick to the agreement and not change their part of it without consulting the rest of the group?

Look at the polls result. 10 out of 35 people agree on not banning him anymore.
"Yeah, you can protect your server" - No, some people cant, newbies won't play jj2 then anymore, because they don't know that they can protect their server, so, easy target. And I, myself can't protect my own server with nimmy's tool because Norton Internet Security blocks it. I don't think I'm the only one with norton here.
There's like no way to protect jj2 from Orbitz and his gang without banning them.

Vegito, if there is evidence Orbitz has crashed servers since he's been unbanned, he will be banned. If there's not, he won't. If requiring the tiniest bit of evidence before sentencing someone to a punishment seems unfair to you, I hope you will never become a judge.

It's just that, to prove that, you need something called 'evidence'. Once that is provided, this guy from your misguided analogy WILL be given another sentence. Monolith has stated thus.

But for that you first need to prove the guy actually committed another crime when out of jail. The judge from your analogy wouldn't throw someone back into jail for committing another crime without actual evidence it was that person, and not some random other guy. Evidence.

That's another thing altogether, an argument you can make when that has actually happened. The solution to your argument isn't to just ban anyone who looks remotely like a bad guy.

I was not referring to the poll result with my post. I was in fact referring to the original agreement and public statement by the listserver council (posted by Nimrod), which stated an end date for the ban of 30th November 2005, with extensions should Orbitz continue to crash servers. Since no extensions were announced, I would consider it safe to assume the the agreement did not change. Either that, or there has been a large breakdown in communication.

I can think of lots of ways of protecting JJ2 from Orbitz without banning him. Examples include patching the bug in JJ2 (Unknownfile is doing a great job with his bugfixing), or sending abuse reports to his ISP.

You can, besides other measures, send abuse reports to ISP for any IP that is properly shown to have committed abuse (in an amount you could decide on). You could even make a tool that documents things like these and collects all reports at some location.

Who has been caught twice earlier, not so very long ago. Thats why he shouldnt have been unbanned.

He was free one day, crashed so many servers with his m8 (Tha Spaz) that he was banned again the same day.

If you know for sure he's been caught, you will be able to provide evidence, and he will be banned again. If you cannot provide evidence, you can either not know for sure wether it's him, or you're gifted with supernatural abilities.

Im talking about earlier, not now. I'm not trying to get him anymore. It's useless anyways. Evidence won't be seen as evidence, since nothing is "water tight" anymore, some people said that, at least. Good way to make people not doing a (-) anymore, I must admit. And that person/those persons knows who he is.

Well, I've had Orbitz, (or somebody pretending to be Orbitz, I havent checked his IP) in my server a few days ago, and I chose to give him a chance... He did try to crash the server, but fortunately I was able to block him. He was trying to recruit people for his Hax clan or whatever it is...
