wb, hope you're still as freaky and edgy as I remember you to be :2

I suppose I'll just follow everyone's lead here and...

WELCOME you back! :), even though I don't know who you are. If you ever played Assassins Creed and liked a certain character named Ezio, we probably won't get along in the future :P.

Haha, thank you! I must admit I've become less of a 15-year-old freaky edgy teenage poser goth and turned into a 28-year-old freaky edgy graphic designer, wearing pants and doing taxes and adulting all over the place, but I'm still awesome!

Yay, thank you so much! Nice to meet you! :D I've never played Assassin's Creed to be honest, so I guess our friendship it safe, lmao!

28 years old? BY god for some stupid reason I always think you are 21. Forever.

Treylina Feb 2, 2015 11:32 AM

Welcome back. I also do art stuff, mostly sketches and pixelart (yes, even tilesets!).

Also, you may be able to play online now. I found that jj2+ fixed the staying connected to servers problem for a *lot* of players, including me. Most servers use the mod/patch/sandwich.

Hare Feb 2, 2015 02:11 PM

WB $klúg :)

(I had to open character map to type that correctly).

This.
Hello. :-) Always nice to see a returning face.

(Also, you can type $kúlg with a regular keyboard, you just need to use Alt Gr for the ú)

Haha, time sure flies! I'm glad to be 28. 21 was awful!

Both of this sounds awesome! I need to chek out your stuff at the Art section! Do you have a deviantART by any chance?

Hahaha, "Skulg" is fine! Spelling your name with a bazillion of accents and other crazy characters totally was a thing back then, though. Am I right, Fl@$h?

I'm thinking about having it changed, but then again this is so awesomely oldskool and pretentious I might actually keep it - in a totally self-ironic manner. *puts on hipster glasses and starts knitting*

Sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I'm Primpy, 14 years old, joined JCF recently. I like your art, especially this one. Did you ever draw something related to Jazz? I'd like to see that.

I do have a deviantart account, but it's incredibly outdated. I haven't uploaded anything to there in years, and my art has improved a lot since then.

My art is now scattered in the art thread, and I posted some unfinished tileset stuff. I have non-jazz related sketches but I don't often show them here, and webcam quality is embarrassing.

Sweet, thank you so much! And nice to meet you!
I just uploaded some of my old JJ-related stuff for you to see here. It's super outdated, though - I really gotta draw some new stuff!

Ooh, I love that smooth look of your tileset style! I'm a total sucker for pixel art; it's freakin' amazing. I'll totally dig through your art threads then!

I'm just wondering, Skulg is some kind of fusion between a slug, an octopus and a hyena?

Jelly Jam Feb 3, 2015 02:03 AM

It sounds more like a fusion of a skull and a slug to me

Very close! She's a tentacle-y alien species I made up that can take the shapes of anmials as it grows up and combine them. Skulg chose to become a mixture of a great grey slug and a French bulldog. A cute lil' guide to her horrendous evolution can be found here!

Haha, the name actually was a thing I thought up when I was nine years old. It was based on the German word for of Guina pig noises, which we call "Glucks". I loved to spell things backwards back then, so it became "Skculg" – I just left out the "c". I had no concept of the English language yet back then – however, today I love the accidental side effect that it almost looks like "slug", as I love slugs to bits! :D

The idea of this thing is really original. The third picture is especially cute and nasty at the same time :D

Aw man thanks a bunch! Nice to meet you! I saw your work-in-progress on JJ 3DX and it's freakin' amazing! Makes me question my life choices and wonder if I should have fulfilled my dream of studying game development instead of graphic design, haha. Keep up the great work!

actually, my main subject is Mechanics(as you see this work I'm not good graphic designer exactly ;P).
But whatever! I'm also love the art like you and drawing something 'meaningless stuff' such as my signature pic.

Haha it's awesome! I love how you worked with the colored outlines; this makes the colors come out even better!

I learned to draw Jazz by literally tracing Nick's comic that came with the Jazz Jackrabbit 1 booklet when I was a kid. This helped me get a grasp on his style and anatomy so I could draw Jazz free-handedly later on. With this as a solid foundation, I eventually developed my own style over the years. So if you'd like to practice drawing him, this is one way to do it!

Of course tracing is highly discouraged in the artist community for obvious reasons, but as long as you don't post it online and claim the whole thing as your own, it's a perfectly fine way to practice!

Hey, nice to meet you, Naps! It's so awesome to see so many new faces here, even 10+ years after the franchise appeared to be pretty much pronounced dead. I'm amazed at how active this community still is, and I absolutely love it! :D

Edit: Wow, one of my posts automatically got deleted because the previous author had deleted his post while I was still writing mine. Great job, Moving Bot, u so smrt.

ShadowGPW Feb 3, 2015 06:12 AM

Yeah the moving bot is on her period today.
