WHAT

Well, I guess I could go home earlier a lot more easily if I can't manage to find a free week (or get bored of you all ;)), so that's fair enough. But we can take the day I suggested as starting point for that week (Aug. 11 = saturday, 12 = sunday).

Electric Ir Nov 6, 2006 06:02 AM

I guess Saturday is better, seeing how it is then possible to visit shops and stuff, instead of walking around in a closed Bruxelles.

Stijn Nov 6, 2006 06:35 AM

Then again, the first day will probably mainly consist of people arriving and, if we're indeed planning to have a multiday meeting, going to hotels etc. So I doubt much shopping would occur that day.

cooba Nov 6, 2006 07:25 AM

From 11 till 14, maybe? A week is certainly overkill, and one day is just uh :| for reasons nakke said.

Vegito Nov 6, 2006 10:41 AM

You should plan a day for people to arrive, and a day for people to leave.
Besides that.. a few days to just do things. Could be 3. (which makes the total meeting 5 days.) Some sort of "holiday meeting" is pretty nice though.
I went on holidays with fellow CCers. You shouldn't stay together too long. You'll get annoyed from eachother. Maybe spending 5 days together is nice. (Fill those days too ofcourse. ;P) Then 2 more days for arrivals and for people to leave. (The first and the last day that is ;)) .. That would make the entire meeting 1 week. And 5 days in which we can do things together.
And Cooba, are you planning to come too? =)

Yeah.. there's a slight chance I might come ;o

nakke Nov 6, 2006 01:32 PM

I don't think a week would be overkill at all. The american meetings have been about a week long.

A week with the first and last days mostly spent for greetings, getting into a hotel and goodbyes would be ThE BeSt!! And the guys living next door (Benelux, I tell you!) could go home earlier if they got bored..... or just otherwise weren't able to be there the whole week.

Stijn Nov 6, 2006 01:51 PM

I honestly don't think I want to go a whole week. But a few days is fine. As nakke said, I can go home earlier.

Unhit Nov 6, 2006 02:06 PM

  • Everyone seems to agree with Brussels as location. Enigma lives there, though, so other Belgian cities are an option too (Several major, interesting cities are there, such as Antwerp / Bruges / Ghent)
  • The current date/timespan proposed is Sunday, August 1st 2007 until August 8th.
  • We need to decide where we are going to stay. An hotel would be an obvious choice, but perhaps camping (tents) would be cool too. It's a more relaxed athmosphere, you don't have the problem of seperate, small rooms, it's outside, and because of global warming there's no rain. And we can play our music as loud as we want }>
  • We need to know who comes. The list is included at the bottom of this post.
Apart from that we need to have some sort of loosely defined schedule, but we can do that later. The things mentioned above need to be known relatively early, because we have to get bookings done et cetera. I think January 1st, 2007 is a good deadline for knowing the Date, Place and accomodation, and whether you're coming or not.

Confirmed
  • nakke / Niklas
  • Stijn
Maybe?
  • Frank
  • Alister
  • Enigma / Nils
  • Vegito / Jorie
  • SlaYo / Lowie
  • ChippieBW / Niels
  • Yasco / Yves
  • Grytoffel / Johan
  • Camou / Gina
(Real names included for eh, fun)

y

I think camping would certainly be cool.. but only if there's one bigger tent to hang out in (if it rains outside). Also we pretty sure wouldn't have interweb access if we went camping in tents. Other than that, it'd be fun, if people have enough tents to bring with them, or there's a place to rent them fer cheap near.
It's outside where all the supercool stuff supposedly happens, so where we sleep wouldn't matter that much.

Stijn Nov 21, 2006 02:42 PM

No internet access is a good thing, imho... It only distracts from the social stuff. Without internet it'd be like web 2.0, but offline!

Camou Nov 24, 2006 08:44 AM

I'll try to see if I can come :) With money and my parents and stuff...

Stijn Nov 24, 2006 08:46 AM

Would be cool, added you to the list.

We need more females ;) Balance is a good thing.

cooba Nov 24, 2006 10:23 AM

Count me out

Stijn Nov 24, 2006 10:33 AM

How come?

Hmm.. I'll be back at the 5th of August from my own vacation ;(
so .. I wouldn't be able to come if this meeting is held from the 1st till the 8th of August.

nakke Nov 25, 2006 05:02 AM

Don't worry, those are anything but final dates.

Vegito Nov 25, 2006 07:22 AM

Alright.
As long as the dates are fine with me.. I'll be in for sure x) ..

Camou Dec 21, 2006 02:37 PM

Sorry, can't come :(

The SlaYeR Jan 2, 2007 11:56 PM

I had a post here about how I was going to attend the EC meeting, but tickets cost a thousand euro's.
HELLO EUROPE.

nakke Jan 3, 2007 04:47 AM

You couldn't come to the EU one too if they don't overlap (and it's not like the next week :D)? It'll be quite close to you, and if we go camping it wouldn't have much extra costs ;O

It'd be like.. DOUBLE THE EXCITEMENT! DOUBLE THE ACTION!

CrimiClown Jan 5, 2007 04:10 AM

I might come, if I manage to get a fair sum of money by then... I figure it'd cost me around €250-€300, living in the northern Netherlands...

Vegito Jan 5, 2007 04:44 AM

hmm.. I am still not sure about what date the holidays will start and end ;o
If the vacation starts at the 1st of August.. I cant come. If the vacation starts at the 8th of August.. I can come ;P

nakke Jan 18, 2007 02:03 PM

I'm betting we should maybe do something about this meeting!!1

I'll do some sort of questionnaire (HEY, THEY COPIED US FIRST) thread in the coming days.
~~KEEP YER EYES OPEN~~

Stijn Jan 18, 2007 07:13 PM
