No-one from J2O (that I know of) is organizing the bash server this year. I hope the community will take up the effort. A logical timespan would be friday 09 april (3 pm GMT?) to monday 12 april.

So.... 1, 2, 3.... go!

P.S. OMG STRIPE HELLO!!

FireSworD Apr 4, 2010 05:12 PM

I already talked with DanZeal about the hosting and he agreed. I also discussed the starting date with some others and friday 09 is about the time we suggested.

Bobby aka Dizzy Apr 4, 2010 07:23 PM

Hey stripe! Where are you living these days?

Slaz Apr 5, 2010 12:31 PM

Hey there Stripe! And I'll be there when the bash starts. ;)

DarkSonic Apr 5, 2010 02:01 PM

Some changes in the final lists:

-PurpleJazz couldn't finish Cerulean Comet in time, this level has been replaced by Electric Canyon by Olsen.
-Cold Cavern replaced by Scrap Brain by me. At first it was Underground Hunting but I wanted Scrap Brain instead. This version has the Sonic 1 music.
-I thought I put Clan Wars: SE II in the Bash but it was Clan Wars: SE (the castle one)

I'm almost done with compiling the packs, so if you want to replace one of your own levels you have to be REALLY QUICK (Faw ;S)

A server starting with battle bash then ctf bash, so no double servers as that seemed to be problematic in the past. I don't have the exact times for when bash starts, alternates or ends. I'll be sure to talk with DanZeal about the times.

Also, would appriciate it if more people would have a say in this.

Stijn Apr 8, 2010 03:58 AM

People might have had a say in this if they had known about the server arrangement

Anyway, let me know the time once it's decided (or post it here), and I'll put up a countdown timer on the J2O frontpage.

Stijn Apr 8, 2010 05:11 AM

Level pack up: http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads...bash-12-files/

Please download before playing, so not to put too much pressure on the server.

DanZeal Apr 8, 2010 05:36 AM

The bash server will be started 00:00 GDT+1 tonight!

If there's no information on what has and has not been decided, it's hard to provide feedback. Provide discussion points if you need any.

What version of plus is the bash server using?

Also which gamemode comes first?

DanZeal Apr 8, 2010 07:42 AM

Seems like we will be using the old version.

And battle will be the first gamemode hosted.

FSHero Apr 8, 2010 08:17 AM

Excuse my ignorance, but does old version mean "1.23"? And can 1.24 clients connect to 1.23?

Myself and my brother Mik look forward to seeing everyone at AB12 -- thanks for organising this!

DanZeal Apr 8, 2010 08:25 AM

It means that it will be hosted with an old version of JJ2+.
You will still be able to join with either 1.23 or 1.24 with or without plus.
Even if it´s recommended to use plus.

Pako Apr 8, 2010 09:44 AM

Oh man can't wait to join the bash this year

And completely fail at simple tasks because I've played too much Team Fortress 2

And constantly complain about the lack of "item drops"

FireSworD Apr 8, 2010 09:54 AM

The update was updated so now bash can use new +?

As long as the host runs it, yeah.

Also note, if the server sticks with the old version, users who update might see the "your version is incompatable warning" but that's not going to cause any problems.

FQuist Apr 8, 2010 03:20 PM

So, is Danzeal still going to host the bash? It's been started.

(We're running on an alternative server now)

DanZeal Apr 8, 2010 07:14 PM

Seems like there was a missunderstanding with one admin of mine.
Thanks Sfaizst for saving the day.

ShadowGPW Apr 9, 2010 03:41 AM

Seeing as how there's a demand for an encore for the bash battle pack, I've thought that we should have a bash afterparty. Should we host all the obtainable bash packs in order from earliest to most recent?

Ofcourse, the server would have to alternate the packs a lot faster. This isn't the only idea, as some people brought up using special levels for the afterparty with or without the bash packs.

Thoughts?

Ragnarok! Apr 12, 2010 06:33 AM

We could do the best 2 levels from each year or something similar?

FawFul Apr 12, 2010 06:53 AM

good idea, but note that it takes time to find out which are the 'two best ones'. maybe not even possible, the whole bash is stuffed with quality.
