Shadow, oh wise clanleader, get on your digital knees and kiss Arjan's feet for us...you still have contact's with him, right?

Newspaz May 27, 2001 01:11 AM

I thought it was just C :P

UrbanMenace May 27, 2001 02:17 AM

Um... what went wrong with this topic...?

Fear May 27, 2001 04:59 AM

Nothing went wrong, we just all spoke about stuff that changed the subject more and more and in the end, we are not speaking about team battle anymore

$TÛNT$ May 27, 2001 10:07 AM

Then y not returning? I really like the idea, that'll Jazz a more teamplaying game.

EverLasting May 27, 2001 10:47 AM

The jazz2 source is written only in C. Nothing else than C. So how do I know this? Bcuz I have the full net part of the jazz2 source code. And I will not give it out since I promised someone I wouldn't.

Cya around!

~SPLASH~ May 27, 2001 11:05 AM

hey ppl

why dont we beat everlasting up, so that he/she will give us the codes?!

:P

GoldBones May 27, 2001 11:09 AM

Ever's a dude of his work, sqelsh all chances of getting it from him ;P

Newspaz May 27, 2001 11:56 AM

Look, Everlasting probably promised Arjan or Michiel so if they don't want to give any out yet. They shouldn't until they are ready for it..

SteelTalon May 27, 2001 01:41 PM

Err, it was not programmed in C. The "Party Mode"/Internet part was probably made in C, but the actual game could not have been coded in C because C isn't an object-oriented code.

Lamer May 27, 2001 06:51 PM

One thing's for sure, it wasn't made using just one language. Also, you don't have to beg Arjan or any of the JJ2 programmers for the source code, if it's just the uncommented source code you want, you could get the latter by using a decompiler, if you can find a good one.

Violet CLM May 27, 2001 08:07 PM

Where'd Lamer's post go?

FreeLance57 May 27, 2001 08:45 PM

I know the source code. Arjan told me not long after I started playing JJ2 because he wanted me to help build version 1.26 (there is also an unrealised 1.25, if y'all are wondering).

It has Team Battle, a Treasure mode where roasts are possible called Goldrush, and an every man for himself CTF called Stand Alone.

It has Lori, also, and Devan is in there as a playable character until we decided that the rabbits were enough. If you can find Devan's number, you can use him.

Please do not ask me for the code, as I am a sucker and may break and give it out. 1.26 is available for those who personally email Arjan praising him as god.

Lamer May 27, 2001 09:11 PM

[This is a repost, since my original mysteriously disappeared, maybe the work of a bug?]

IF I didn't say so yet then:

Exilent idea! good luck!

Some people just don't know when to stop :P

$tilettø May 28, 2001 07:47 AM

Hmmm Does SomeOne Have 1.25 ?

I Heard a long time ago a Guy was making 1.25

But i think he was just Lieing

Fquist_old May 28, 2001 08:10 AM

Arjan told me 1.25 never really got off the ground.

$tilettø May 28, 2001 08:38 AM

So That Means No One Have 1.25?

Nobara May 28, 2001 10:27 AM

Exactly. My guesses are that no one on this planet except Arjan and very few people have 1.25, exspecially 1.26.

FreeLance57 May 28, 2001 10:32 AM

me having both.

(lol i am such a liar)

Newspaz May 28, 2001 10:39 AM

More people will have 1.26. That's the MAC version.

Newspaz May 28, 2001 10:42 AM

*puts up hand* I want a pretty old engine who can be fixed up.

FreeLance57 May 28, 2001 10:44 AM

did I say 1.26? I meant 1.27! how silly of me!

Nobara May 28, 2001 11:50 AM

Yep

Yep

Yep

Michael May 29, 2001 03:39 AM

I can tell ya how to "make" 1.25 or even 9.42356.423 just open Jazz.exe in a hex editor and whereever it says 1.23 change it to X. As in X=version you want.

Easy as that. But then it will be like "joining" a TSF server with 1.23.

Fear May 29, 2001 08:50 AM

Nitro, that will fix nothing. We were talking about a number of fixes ( team battle in this case ) and hex editing isnt going to get that any time soon.

Disguise May 29, 2001 11:35 AM

Shad, you gave me Arjan's e-mail so that I can beg him for the source code

How can Arjan lose money on JJ2 if he releases the source code? Nobody bothers to buy it anyways.

That's about it.

ShadowGPW May 29, 2001 12:25 PM

I will then.. gimmy a few days

Fear May 29, 2001 12:32 PM

Hmm fact is that a source code takes effort to make... He will prolly want money for it, but however the outdating of the code should be enough to make it 'affordable'

Lamer May 29, 2001 03:28 PM

Fear has a point. I think you would have a better chance of getting it illegally (like by decompiling) than by begging Arjan because it is doubtful that he would be willing to let go of something he poured blood and sweat into.

Tik May 29, 2001 06:37 PM

So, why hasn't someone done that already?

Nobara May 29, 2001 11:14 PM

You really thing Arjan would charge us for a dumb source code? I met Arjan Brusse *er, sp?* in my server before. He seemed like a nice guy, but I have only talked to him once.

The only way you can probably get it out of him is by begging him on your hands and knees and praising him as a god.

Disguise May 30, 2001 06:02 PM

Hmmm, I wouldn't do it illegally.

The last way Arjan could make some cash outta JJ2 is if he could sue all of us who illegally used his code. I nkow it's pretty mean and most of you will knock me on the head for even saying somehting like that, but it is a possibility, and I'm not prepared to take the chance.

I'm willing to pay, but I have a low budget, a VERY low budget, I just hope it wouldn't be too much. The way I know source code, it prolly will.

All we can do is hope, and ask Boss to hurry up!

Trust me, that wasn't Argan, it was probably Derby or PiZZa.

Disguise May 30, 2001 07:11 PM

It wasn't Arjan, he would've been in a server with Jeh or Noogy but couldn't because he couldn't join with his proxy. Pretty evil huh? Oh well, that was years ago.

Wild Angel May 30, 2001 10:20 PM

Derby and Pizzie weren't playing JJ2 at that time, it was about...1998

Michael Jun 1, 2001 02:12 AM

Wildie's 'From:' is nice, I like it

Look at myne... *Alien growls* (Read Pizie's Monolith Alien topic :P)

Roaster Jun 1, 2001 08:56 AM

Hey Shadow what does THIS remind you of?

But someone didn't come through with the source. COUGH COUGH.

Fquist_old Jun 1, 2001 09:24 AM

1.25 hasn't been really started on. The source was promised us before but we did not get it.
