BTW, Reptile, do remember to rename all levels in the bash to names like ab6ctf(x) where (x) is the number of where the level is in the pack. 1-20

R3ptile Apr 8, 2004 02:54 AM

Oh, btw, I finished to put the CTF levels and tilesets in a *.zip, and I also linked all the levels and tested it, I'm proud to say it works perfect, and it has a quality when you put all the levels together and you have fun to see the best levels in JJ2 (Ok, most of them). I must say thanks to all the people who helped me with suggestions: AvK, DarkSonic, Snooz, Labratkid, Flash and a lot of other people I don't remember now, but I'll edit and add them later.

I also must say a big thanks to FQuist for allowing me to organize the levels in the packs, and also to Nimrod, for hosting the best server for JJ2 ever - Nimrod-Online, and also because he will host AB6! Oh, I also must say thanks to the community for all the support and the comments!

I almost forgot to say thanks to all the great tileset and music makers! The levelmakers couldn't make their levels without you all! Oh, drama. I'm feeling so proud to be in this community, thanks.

FQuist: I already did, and I put the levels and the tilesets in a zip. Same about the battle levels. Only the musics part left.

(P.S: Yes, I put some classic levels I liked, you don't have a problem, do you?)

Suggestions:
- Hells Angels, by martin. It's classic, come on! :p
- Shameless self plug: Gemstone Warfare, or Spider Swamp? (see sig) ;) They made the last 2 Bash's.

Stijn Apr 8, 2004 04:03 AM

Oh yes, Hell's angels. That level is so 1337 :D

isn't it, unhit?

Unhit Apr 8, 2004 04:06 AM

Oh yeah and it takes some time :p

doesn't if, flash?

EvilMike made that "Officials vs. Competitors" level. Also, I prefer the true name of my upside down DW level, which is D!gwouqnz MgLsou6.

Lark Apr 8, 2004 09:29 AM

Wow, I just understood why that level is called what it is. Stand on your head and read the name. =D

Violet CLM Apr 8, 2004 11:07 AM

Times like this I vaguely miss being able to join servers. Maybe if I just bit the bullet and installed a phone line when I got the chance, I'd be able to show up briefly... ah, why bother.

Nimrod Apr 8, 2004 04:29 PM

Servers up now, go play! :p

Aw. Ya shoulda PM'ed me. Oh well. Nice pack nonetheless. :)

Monolith Apr 8, 2004 05:25 PM

Screenies!

I was in there playing for a few battles when the server first started. Won the second battle. :)

(oh, and beware a couple minor bits of 'language' in some of the shots)

Chiyu Apr 8, 2004 09:59 PM

I must say I like that tileset used in the second level on the screenshots.

R3ptile Apr 9, 2004 02:22 AM

Sorry, I really forgot some levels but I promise they will be in AB6 if I'll take care about it. By the way, if your level was in AB5, there aren't many chances that you will see it in AB6 again, as you can see in the levelslist. Have fun from playing the levels in the special server, and download the packs before you join the match.

For all the people who didn't like some levels and said "My levels are better! Why didn't you put it?", I had a hard choice, and at last I think I chose the best (except one or two levels I could switch by better levels in my opinion, but you suggested them, so don't complain). Oh, and, I couldn't agree 1.24 levels, because 1.23 is much more popular, and the server is 1.23 too, well, I talked too much. Have fun from playing AB6!

By the way, I like the screenshots from AB6 server! They own! I'll make some later.

Shorty Apr 9, 2004 02:51 PM

This is only my 5th time missing it....I'm pathetic.

Blackraptor Apr 9, 2004 04:01 PM

Shorty, you didn't miss it. It'll be up all weekend =P.

Monolith Apr 9, 2004 06:51 PM

More Screenies

Tik Apr 9, 2004 07:03 PM

Because of connection problems I was only able to join for 5 or 6 30-second intervals. But I can say I didn't miss it this year, at least. Stupid connection, though. Sucks.

FireSworD Apr 9, 2004 07:44 PM

Nimrod, I like how you set your server to kick players using ANY shield. It added a nice touch to my level; Non-typical Battle. I mean man, it kicks you for taking the shield! :)

R3ptile Apr 10, 2004 02:38 AM

Screenshots are sexy.

Electric Ir Apr 10, 2004 02:43 AM

Yeah, that's very interesting :P
We saw that happening to Blur at first and were all like 'doubleU tee aff!?' ;-P

CTF Screenies

I think this time I'll include captions.

As soon as I join the server just to check it out, I've already got the flag.Talec and I in formation. And Shadow looks strangely like Eva.
Go SprintMan! (Molineth?)There are three server admins in this shot. Can you see them all?
Red teamwork.Defending the red base.
Blur in pain, flag bearer roasted, and being barraged by missiles.iCeD would score here.. if our team didn't have the other flag :P
Just chilling in the middle of a wall.

Blaim Reptile.
I asked if him any levels have shields on them, he replied with No, therefore I set if that if you get a shield, you get kicked (to prevent cheaters).

Oh and Monolith, good screenshots :)

Oh and Monolith, good screenshots :)

I added this level lately, when you asked me none of the levels had a shield. (Except a level I forgot) By the way, when someone lasers the server, nothing happens -> DO SOMETHING. Oh well, whatever.

(P.S: I'll add some screenshots from the CTF server later)

Bartman Apr 11, 2004 06:32 AM

I'd love to participate, alas, I need to hunt down the 1.23 patch since my hard drive was wiped out...

defalcon Apr 11, 2004 07:09 AM

Bartman! LTNS. :)

Nimrod Apr 11, 2004 03:23 PM

Bash is over guys, and it was Great.

We where lucky enough to have some suprise oldies come back to us, including Onag, Overlord and Spazzyman. People who left the jj2 scene a while back :)

We managed to get a full server (16 people), and had a great time (and moan about the fact that charactors where lagging all over the place). :) It was good to see so many jazz'ers coming back to Celebrate 6 years of Jazz 2.

Also, on the note of hosting, theres no way I can take all the Credit for it. I may have provided the Phsyical Resources to host it, But I wasnt there all the time to keep an eye on it, and Admin it. (Infact, i was out all of Friday and half of Saturday). The other admins did a great job of keeping an eye on the server, restarting it when jj2 crashed (or someone crashed it), and keeping order within the server. I owe them a lot, and they put in as much work in as myself.

So i belive a special thank you is in order for FQuist, Monolith, Labratkid, Xtreem and Optic (aka Ninja), and all the others that helped keep order within the Server, and made it a good Bash.

Thanks again guys, and everyone who took part and came along! :)

FQuist Apr 11, 2004 03:52 PM

I agree, that's all I can say.

Unhit Apr 11, 2004 03:52 PM

I PLAYED HAHAHAAHAHAHA CAN'T BELIEVE IT :|
Was fun even. A bit ;)

FoD Apr 11, 2004 05:17 PM

I was there, but Monolith didn't get me in screenshots. Whew. ;)

I took some screenshots myself. I posted them all here, but there's a lot and it'll take a long time to load, so maybe you'll just skip looking at mine, eh? :P. I'm mad I missed out on famous people showing up. Daugh.

Monolith Apr 11, 2004 06:35 PM

This was an awesome bash. Thanks to everybody that helped (including tyf who provided moral support). I wish I could have played more, but I had a lot of work to do this weekend (and still have to do it), so I only got in the server for short amounts of time.

Oh, and just a few final screenshots:

SORY FOR THE SCREENSHoT* ;( (content warning)
The final level.
The end.

Hare Apr 11, 2004 09:53 PM

'Twas fun :), yup.

I just wish I got the music pack installed earlier, because I wanted to hear the music.

DoubleGJ Apr 12, 2004 12:25 AM

YaY, I have been roasted by FoD, YaY!

Superjazz Apr 12, 2004 12:37 AM

I think that the whole AB-weekend was a good idea and it was fun to play in the server, although it was quite laggy when there were about 16 people in the same time there. I liked the ctf more anyways but battle was ok also because my level were there also. ;)

So, because I had this fun I wish we will have ab7 next year then.

Enigma Apr 12, 2004 01:05 AM

Was quite fun. Ever since I first saw the battle server years ago, I've always wanted to roast Mono while he wasn't idle. :D
