i'm never ever going to offer to help this community again.
you guys have never appreciated me.
in other communities i would've been an admin a long time ago already.

yeah i AM pissed off. and this was my final post here.
have fun with your anniversaries and whatnot

Ragnarok! Mar 13, 2008 01:20 PM

Not that this contributes, but I think Stijn is entitled to take his time... ;p

Unhit Mar 13, 2008 01:24 PM

Slightly off-topic, but the "admin" status isn't like something like "Sir" which honorary members get. You can be a honoured and revered member of the community without being admin.
So please calm down on this issue and cooperate :(

R3ptile Mar 13, 2008 01:27 PM

(WA) that i'm still here after all these years despite eating so much (-) from everyone and volunteer to organize the 10th AB event of this game for YOU and i'm here to change things as all events since the one I had organized were crappy and all you do is PA me for that.. but whatever.

Ragnarok! Mar 13, 2008 01:31 PM

Ok r3p. Maybe everyone does owe you some attention, JJ2WC and all that, maybe you contribute a lot, but have you ever considered why some people dont appear to appreciate you? I certainly dislike you because of how you treat me, ignore the review, everything else builds up though.

R3ptile Mar 13, 2008 01:32 PM

i treat you like everyone else, but apperently every once in a while you keep whining about something that happened 3 years ago. why can't you just be cool like your brother? :p

Ragnarok! Mar 13, 2008 01:34 PM

So don't you think that makes everyone be treated like gunk if you treat me the same as the rest? Secondly, I'm not the same person, and I always try to be different from him. ;\

Pardon me for being offtopic.

DoubleGJ Mar 13, 2008 02:01 PM

a bit offtopic too but I still can't navigate 24 Hour Coffee

I never play this level anywhere outside the bashes so I keep forgetting the layout

Its actually because of your outrageously bad attitude and overall surly demeanor, but whatever.

Raven aka StL Mar 13, 2008 04:05 PM

Let's see some lists and maybe vote from those.

Something I'd like to suggest. It's good to have newer, popular levels in the mix, but year 10 is a pretty big deal. I think it would be good to have at least one notable level from every year, from 1998 to 2008. It might also be fun to order them by year, so that players can see the progression.

That's a great idea, imo, however I'm afraid it'd only work if people remain in the server for a long time or join at the right time (in order to get the full "effect"). But since it shouldn't do any bad to order the levels chronoligally and it has this possible benefit, i highly second this suggestion. Maybe you could even add years to the level's textstrings (like level mady by blah) to the levels which don't have any thus far, that'd be cool.

GENIUS O+

FireSworD Mar 13, 2008 05:29 PM

I'm averse against it. Since bashes give newer levels more exposure and potential to become popular.

If people don't want to do exactly this, how about we add a text string to a corner of each level with a short description of what makes it noteworthy/when it was made/etc?

blurredd Mar 13, 2008 11:22 PM

That idea of course assumes players read text strings. Might as well make a node on J2O or something else that does what you described.

TripleJ Mar 14, 2008 12:34 AM

Battle

-Panic!!
-6 Hour Energy Drink
-Desolate Chemistry
-The Warden Woods
-Sector Probe 68-A

CTF

-Extraterrestrials
-After Dark
-Sunken Realm
-Rooms
-Air Base VII

Newspaz Mar 14, 2008 01:15 AM

What if we just make an entry on the J2O wiki and let everyone add all levels they like. Then in the end we can filter them by J2O rating and have a level lottery or something.

Vegito Mar 14, 2008 03:29 AM

For the rest it looks like an alright list imo.
But yes, I'm with EvilMike's idea here. =O

snzspeed Mar 14, 2008 04:27 AM

it is a nice list, yet people still whine. i personally would never join AB server just to "play"

cooba Mar 14, 2008 04:42 AM

I personally would never join a bash server which has Mulch in the loop :)

FQuist Mar 14, 2008 05:13 AM

It would be nice if people actually listed the levels in the list they wanted out, or list the levels they want in, instead of the (disappointing) nonconstructive complaining. If you want the list to be good, give feedback. And stop whining. I find it rather disturbing that in celebrating that this community exists for 10 years, people mostly act in a way that shows the worst side of it.

I agree with Mike about 10 years being a special event. I also agree old levels should have some representation. I however recognize many people dislike the older levels and want new levels in. What about having some alternative chronological "legendary levels" pack that is hosted at a couple of special times? Or a certain timespan?

Slaz Mar 14, 2008 05:22 AM

Whatever old levels will be in, I wouldn't like the famous 3 Diamondus Warzone, Semi, and Bblair to be in because those are way too overplayed last year (that doesn't mean they are bad of course)..

cooba Mar 14, 2008 05:49 AM

In my opinion, those levels shouldn't be in the bash10 loop:

The Genesis Reactor Core - surely blur has done some better JCS work than this? This is a fine level but hardly matches up to levels like Anarchy Inn

Wormhole Check Point 18 - gimmicky like Happy Canyon.

After Dark - good eyecandy, little else.

The Demon Rampart - the weakest one from the Agony pack I think? And already done last year, too.

Toxin Twister - already done last year, suited for competitive play making it less fun to play in public games, no thanks.

Mulch - Self explanatory, I hope.

Turbo Shock Star Cruiser CTF - same as Genesis Reactor Core.

Foreign Country - this level wouldn't be half as well known if it wasn't for the tileset that everyone seems to adore for some reason.

Sub-terrestrial - this was played to death last bash.

Bobo Meets Royalty - this one is in only because Stijn wanted it.

Forest Awakening - looks pretty but plays just horribly, never played it last year or something?

It's Over PF - I'm sick of this one.

24 Hour Coffee - no comment.

I was a little disappointed to see Stijn's and PJ's lists so focused on levels that are from 2006 at the most, though.

Also, I find it a little suspicious how PJ's fellow xtreme level makers!! have the most levels in this list.

Superjazz Mar 14, 2008 06:02 AM

What's wrong with Wormhole? ;o

snzspeed Mar 14, 2008 06:12 AM

hahahah, biggest anniversary coming up and people just keep blaming/flaming eachother behind backs. some "community" this is..

also its not that easy to make a "superb" list what satisfies everyone so :P

maybe because XLMers made the most levels this year? :)

I forgot that 24 Hour Coffee is a brilliant level that simply must to be in :( :(

DarkSonic Mar 14, 2008 06:26 AM

Hmm.. not bad, but I don't understand why MULCH is in there. I would prefer the new version 'MALCH' or some other level. It also has some levels in that were in earlier Bashes. I can understand that 'classics' are in, but there are also some levels that were in AB8/AB9. I think it's not strange that most of the levels are by XLM members, because most new levels are made by them.

Also, can anyone tell me what Errors of Judgement is? A new level by blur? Or by someone else? I think some people will still be making levels for the Bash, but so far this is a pretty good list.

Superjazz Mar 14, 2008 06:27 AM

If you look at the j2o download-lists, make it show Battle-levels with minimum rating 7, sorted by date, you can see there aren't many from last year.

Battle levels from last year/this year with over a 7: Foreign Country, DarkMatch, Heated Pipelines, Sandstone Ruins, Daring Rebels, The Warden Woods, Hardware Database, Sector Probe 68-A, Christmas Clash, Rumble in the Bogs

Battle levels that haven't been rated yet: 6 Hour Energy Drink, Darker Remains, Scrap Brain, Mixxed Up, One and a half hour Dr. Pepper, Caves of the Arabic Ninja

And then there are the Battle levels that are not on J2O yet, dunno them all.
