Lets stop this discussion now and let's make some levels! anyway, who is up to it?

Xobim Jan 14, 2007 01:52 AM

Allthough I'd love to, I really need to get my marks up.

Sacrush Jan 17, 2007 08:46 AM

I still need someone for the next level, is anyone looking in this thread?

Newspaz Jan 17, 2007 09:49 AM

If it were next week I'd do it. Right now I have a school deadline to reach.

I don't think that that's any problem since not many people are interested in doing the next level. So I guess next week would be fine.

I don't know. I just think I cant match the expertations.

Olsen Jan 17, 2007 12:20 PM

Heh, it's a community project, not an "elite" project. :D

Xobim Jan 18, 2007 08:58 AM

Hey, I'm in too, so what kind of expectations do you think they have? :P

Eh, I'm in. Should be fun. Just one question: Is there any overall level type? Platformer? Shoot-em-up? Puzzle? Cross-breed?

Ok hate to trigger another Zapper attack, but Jazz Jackrabbit 2's genre IS platformer. Also, shoot-em-ups in the sense of Metal Slug do not translate well into a JJ2 made level.

ShadeJackrabbit Jan 18, 2007 01:51 PM

No, I meant: Lots of jumping, enemies, puzzles, or a mix?

That's your decision. You can make the level just how you want to. Just make sure that the level fits in with the story.

ShadeJackrabbit Jan 18, 2007 02:30 PM

Wow. Cool.

ThunderPX Jan 23, 2007 06:52 AM

So is Newspaz doing the next one?

Sacrush Jan 23, 2007 07:50 AM

I hope he is, so Newspaz are you doing the next one?

Newspaz Jan 23, 2007 01:11 PM

I just finished my project and I have the entire next week off. I hope to start tomorrow.

That's great, thanks!

WerBack3>> Jan 25, 2007 09:32 AM

Take me in! Take me in! Take me in!

ThunderPX Jan 25, 2007 09:58 AM

I just had an idea; we should fix all spelling and grammatical errors in levels before the 'official' release of the episode. Just a little polishing thing (and I hate bad spelling.)

I agree that before it's going to be released things should be polished. Not only spelling but maybe also other things. But yeah, we still got a lot of work to do first.

WerBack3>> is added to the list.

Edit: Maybe we should only make the levels available for people who is going to work on the episode and some betatesters. Just so that when it's finished the whole community didn't already played it. What do you people think?

WerBack3>> Jan 25, 2007 10:15 AM

Horray!
I promise not to make grammar and spelling mistakes!(OK, only spelling)

It is possible, but it requires some organisation. I'm not sure if it is useful if only a few other people download the finished levels...

ThunderPX Jan 26, 2007 07:47 AM

I think that when someone finishes a level, they should send a PM with the link to everyone participating (+ possible betatesters), but keep the rest of the discussion here.

Yes, that's a good idea. I could also PM everyone with the link if it's too much work for the creator.

ThunderPX Jan 27, 2007 02:21 AM

Okay, but keep 2xGJ's level on there as a 'demo' of sorts. =P

Yes, screens will ofcourse stay too.

Sacrush Feb 11, 2007 04:17 AM

Newspaz haves some difficulties so can't do the third level. So we need someone else to do it now. Who's up for the challenge?

ShadeJackrabbit Feb 18, 2007 12:18 PM

Hmm... I suppose I could try my hand at it.

EDIT: Oh, by the way, I need to know the storyline progression of level 2 first.
EDIT AGAIN: Now I know. I think I could do it.

TheKax Feb 19, 2007 05:00 AM

List me. I could make some lvls. I want to join.

ShadeJackrabbit Feb 20, 2007 01:27 PM

So, can I do it?

Sacrush Feb 20, 2007 01:31 PM

That's fine by me. Ill send the level ASAP.

ShadeJackrabbit Feb 21, 2007 03:20 PM

Thanks.

EDIT: Okay, I'll start the third level right away. Got an escape thing idea...

cooba Mar 12, 2007 08:31 AM

How is it going? :/

ShadeJackrabbit Mar 12, 2007 08:34 AM

Pretty good. Here's a screenie of the starting area:

The hard part is getting all the proper tiles in place. I've also got the thing layed out, and the base shape of the level carved away.

ShadeJackrabbit Mar 13, 2007 02:20 PM

*gasp* Was that a compliment? ^_^

Xobim Mar 14, 2007 01:01 AM

Maybe you should make the window transculent... :)
And I agree with Cooba here: Looks promising.

Olsen Mar 14, 2007 10:09 AM

I like it, although it looks a little dull at the moment. :)

Anyway, the tileset reminds me why I absolutely hate using "mechanical", humanmade themed "3D" tilesets. There's... never correct slopes...!

ShadeJackrabbit Mar 15, 2007 07:11 AM

Heh, the window actually is translucent, just you can't see it very well because there isn't anything complicated behind it.

ShadeJackrabbit Mar 24, 2007 07:11 AM

UPDATE:

Current state of the layout of the... mine? Some areas have more/less metal because of stability.

EDIT: Updated with better picture. I love Paint .net.

Xobim Mar 24, 2007 08:25 AM

An underground base. Looks nice.
Keep up the good work! :)
