Birdie Aug 13, 2005 09:53 AM

what about ground without the vine stuff with the dirt instead

Risp_old Aug 13, 2005 09:54 AM

Yeah. So much more important then slopes and vines and hooks and other such needed tiles.

I still like yellow over blue a bit more since it fits in better. But I suppose both could be used if there are still disagreements.

By the way, I'm not planning on doing that "shading frenzy" thing just yet, so don't wait for me.

I might add some self-made stuff next time.

Oh, and before anyone asks/objects, the addition to the pipes is supposed to be used to sort of spread thepair of pipes at their ends so you can walk on on the single pipe.. but it can have different uses, too, I guess.. and I guess I should've done more with it, but my attention span is dwindling.
And while I'm at it, the sword-in-rock by Radium looks good and all, but it doesn't fit onto any ground tiles. Something should be done about that.
And I think when this is done, someone should really give the whole thing a little more.. order.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind about Rad's rock.

Regarding the acid in this edit: It's unsightly. The water is cool, though.

Fawriel Aug 13, 2005 11:58 AM

It was intended not to look pretty.

ShadeJackrabbit Aug 13, 2005 12:11 PM

How bout you call it: Corossive Zone

Risp_old Aug 13, 2005 01:49 PM

That sounds like a sonic ripoff.

ShadeJackrabbit Aug 13, 2005 02:08 PM

That... was, well, the point. I like simple names. OH! You could call the tileset: Swampwater! No ripoffs!

MSB3000 Aug 13, 2005 02:57 PM

Kansas isn't a ripoff either.

I'm almost about to do some changes myself.

Violet CLM Aug 13, 2005 03:54 PM

When totally erasing peoples' work, I suggest you at least ask them beforehand. The first post asked you to edit, not redraw from scratch.

cooba Aug 18, 2005 02:21 AM

If you ask me, the wooden pipe stuff should be changed to a metallic gray instead of green... There would be no need to worry about the brown badly contrasting with green and gray, as the pipes would be gray themselves.

..and when someone's at it, the color of the cave tiles could be changed so it looked like metal. For the same reason as above.

Violet CLM Aug 19, 2005 06:38 PM

Increased functionality. :D

Radium Aug 19, 2005 06:51 PM

.. wow. You were busy. =O

CrimiClown Aug 19, 2005 11:29 PM

I LOVE this tileset. Too bad I can't draw that well, or edit... or... Anything... :(

*Waits for the final version*

(Someone PM me when it's done please... :D )

Firewall Aug 20, 2005 08:56 AM

if its finisht i am full standing ready too make a example level

blurredd Aug 20, 2005 03:55 PM

[IMG]http://www.jazz2online.com/d3/metal.png[/IMG]

A fairly quick edit and an alternative to the other tiles. I thought the tileset needed it.

(The colors seem to clash more after I reset the Color Correction on my monitor. Oh well.)

Also, great job on the edit, Violet.

Alright... What else does this set need... uh... (Looks up Event List)

Violet CLM Aug 21, 2005 04:09 PM

A few suggestions for things that might be interesting to add, but which I will not have the time to unless I work on the 31st:
  • Some more background/foreground layers (duh).
  • A bottom for the tree tiles which actually looks like it's turning into roots and stuff.
  • Some tiles with the green vines hanging off of the trees.
  • Some useful small background pipes like in "Wasteland".
  • Some way of turning one of the random lava edits into a Water Block pool.
  • More technology stuff! Computer terminals are always good.
  • Fans? Fans are cool.

n0 Aug 21, 2005 07:19 PM

Also:
* H-Poles
* V-Poles
* Hooks
* Water Block
* Belts

I'll do a textured background once it's finished. My free time is slipping away, however. School starts Tuesday.

fire_byrd08 Aug 22, 2005 12:23 PM

How do I post images?

I figured out the V-Poles

Risp_old Aug 22, 2005 12:38 PM

Since Blurred has apparently made my metal/stone/whatever plates solid, transition tiles between the plates and the normal ground would be nice. If nobody else wants to, I could make simple ones.

n0 Aug 22, 2005 12:57 PM

Risp: They don't look solid to me! Still look like cave tiles...

FireBird: http:\\www.imageshack.us
Then put the "Direct Link to Image" link inbetween [IMG] and [/IMG] tags.

Risp_old Aug 22, 2005 01:12 PM

Oh, I thought I saw blurred adding cavetiles to it in that picture... nevermind, then. Still, it'd be nice to be able to put them behind normal ground without using layer 5.

[IMG]http://img288.imageshack.us/img288/6316/poles7bv.png[/IMG]

Would this work for poles?

n00b Aug 24, 2005 01:39 PM

Currently being done stuff-
Islandish BG characters, each with a mechanical version
Technological stuff like computer terminals, fancy chairs, Spheres with alien text flying around it, etc. etc.

That actually makes really good H Poles. I'm inpressed. Make some V Poles as well, ok?

FoxBlitzz Aug 25, 2005 06:27 PM

I'd make them a bit thinner.

Birdie Aug 25, 2005 06:31 PM

i would like them thinner aswell

n00b Aug 25, 2005 06:52 PM

And I'd like your sig to be less flashy and eplitec(I need to find out the correct spelling of that) prone. I'm looking at it out of the corner of my eye and my head is already hurting badly.

Birdie Aug 25, 2005 07:01 PM

:P changed it :D and now it has uber spelling ;D
(it needs the framerate i gave it though it was slowed down some how)
FIX THE POLES!!!

DoubleGJ Aug 26, 2005 03:05 AM

Dang, deadline is getting close and I still haven't finished my addition.

Stijn Aug 28, 2005 12:02 PM

nice ...thumbnail

White Rabbit Aug 28, 2005 01:39 PM

What about H poles that stick up from the ground?

fire_byrd08 Aug 28, 2005 02:07 PM

In case nobody noticed I just shrunk the wood tiles to 25% to make the poles really not much effort

They do look good though

Birdie Aug 28, 2005 04:36 PM

>( they are still to thick

fire_byrd08 Aug 29, 2005 03:37 PM

Fine. I'll make a thinner version.

fire_byrd08 Aug 29, 2005 03:44 PM

[IMG]http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/8819/polesv219tz.png[/IMG]

If that's better please say so I think it $ucks
