We did, they're not very useful.
I suggest we go W, S, E and tie the rope to the brigde in the carving room and use it to slide down to look if anything interesting can be found under the bridge... |
Carry the campsite crystal to the carving and see if any of it's edges are similarly shaped to the small square or the arrow...
Xobim, that's a bad idea. There's a very mean monster down there that tore pieces of a Water Elemental, a Mythslayer, L33tz4n, and Shuriken to shreds. Possibly Uberbob too, depending on how well he held on to the rope.
Ask L33tz4n to summon an acupuncturist in case one is needed.
And cast Defender on yourself.
Examine the crystal in our inventory.
List faces in quantity by type of polygon (please ;D). I think we should try and check to see if the trapped crystals can be turned on their edge without triggering a trap. ;|. I have no idea where we are as far as rooms go. |
Hey guys, Rad's asked me to do a few DM posts. I'm taking the first three commands as they don't conflict with each other.
Fed up with the dissatisfying properties of water on solid matter, and geometric crystals in general, I stormed into the empty room to the West, took out the crystal I had recently obtained and, in an uncharacteristically violent fit of rage, smacked it as hard as I could with my spear. The crystal merely slid across the floor until it hit the icey wall. Then it stopped. "Beautiful," said Araches as she and Uberbob suddenly walked in. "That gesture said more than words ever could." "Fawriel, that was an ITEM!" Uberbob cried, apparently deeply offended by my actions. "We don't attack our items, we hold onto them until they help us solve a puzzle, or we trade them to the invisible gremlins for something better!" The simple-minded rabbit walked over to the gem and cradled it in his arms like a newborn baby. Araches watched with a look of disgust and loathing, then gathered herself together and turned back to me. "In his own stupid way, he has a point. We probably need the gems to get out of here." "Yeah, yeah," I replied, utterly exasperated, and just a little bit tired. I then noticed that the Archmage was no longer in their company, and decided to voice this revelation. "Hey, where's Fooruman?" "He's back in the other room, playing Tarot with the fountain or something," Araches replied. "Oh, okay," I said. "Well, if you'll excuse me I have to go touch the sleeping bag in that other room." Araches raised an eyebrow. "Why?" "It just feels right." Araches then, quite forcefully, slapped me across the face. With my face being numb from the cold, it took about five seconds for me to feel the blow at all. I rubbed my cheek with my empty hand, trying to massage feeling back into it, then looked up at Araches. "Thank you," I said. "Don't mention it." Having been assaulted back into sanity, I strode one room west, into another glowy-floored, dome-shaped and icey chamber. Lying on the floor were two crystals: one was like a poofy triangle, while the other looked like a drop of water. Resisting the rising urge to stab them with my spear, I walked over to the enigmatic crystals and knelt down beside them, reciting all the clues we had gathered thus far in my mind. I then got an idea. After carefully laying down my spear, I took the drop-shaped crystal in my hand, rotated it so the point was facing left, and, very carefully, lifted it up off the ground while keeping the faces constant. No sooner had I lifted it more than an inch off the ground did an ice-cold spike rise lightning-fast out of the ground, and impale me, much like the meat on the kabob I had brought from the mansion for sustainance. I knew there was irony in there somewhere, but either my frustration or the loss of large quantities of blood was keeping me from finding it.
Inventory Code:

Attempt to roll raindrop crystal on the floor out past the door.
I dropped the crystal back on the ground, and the spike immediately retracted back to wherever it had originally come from. Though I was now horribly wounded and in too much pain to even stand properly, I decided to try out another plan, just for the heck of it. I now attempted to roll the crystal out of the room, but the moment I tried to push it toward the door another ice-cold spike shot up and impaled me again. I'm pretty sure it hit some major organ, because the blood pouring out of me was black this time instead of the usual red.
As my life flashed before my eyes, I realized I was having "one of those days."

Here we go again...
I suggest using Minmays theory from page five on the puzzle. |
...gah. You guys...
Heal self, assuming Faw even has any healing magic left. |
Why are we so obsessed with keeping Faw alive? If he dies, so what? We can just reload. Honestly, the policy of keeping him alive completly prevents you guys from expirimenting solution ideas.
Fine, let him sit there in agony and die. D=
...but you know you're not doing anything to solve this puzzle, right? |
It's because he knows what the solution to the puzzle is, from me. He's not ALLOWED to play.
Of course I'm not, I already know the solution =P
edit: Do people HAVE to post one second before me like that?
List faces on our crystal from the inventory (after healing ;|).
So yeah, I am taking lots of stabs in the dark, but this is because I can't understand the 'hint' given to us. Or I might be looking in the wrong post for the hint. |
Don't kill Faw just because Stratten is peer pressuring you into it. Stratten is a SABOTEUR.
...I currently have almost no ideas.
Look at the campcrystal through another crystal? |
The poem doesn't say anything about looking through crystals...
E, E, see if any surface of the campsite crystal matches a surface of a crystal in this room...
[/lurk]
move a little to the side, then place the crystal. [lurk] |
Absolutely NO.
We should place down crystals when we have a clue to solving the puzzle. Just doing random things will eventually lead to Faw's painful death...
I must agree. Although I think it already has lead to his painful death...
And what was that hint Rad gave?

- After healing, switch the dropcrystal and the campcrystal real fast. Hasn't anybody seen Indiana Jones? |
Resetting means we have to redo entering the caves. Thats bound to get annoying if all we're doing is killing Faw.

We did?.

...Dev, are you not posting because you hate us?
Or did you disappear again? |

Well, we've tested what we thought we knew. Now what? Do we impale Faw a fourth time?
Yep. But try different ways to get him impaled.
Okay, so I guess Ae can try swapping the crystals if he still wants to.
Does anybody know all the clues given in this puzzle? It would probably be much easier if everything would be summed up in one post...
There's the carving, the poem, and a bunch of other things that could be clues. If anyone wants, they can put them all in one post.
Structure in those things can really help us solving this puzzle. I notice much posts going about ideas we've allready tried. I'm just too lazy and confused to make that post... |-|
Throw the campsite crystal into the dark pit in the carving room...
if nothing somewhat useful happens... go into the SE gem room and repeatedly pick up the gems |
