It's not JJ2 related, so not anytime soon I believe.

R3ptile Jun 14, 2006 05:45 AM

Valco Jun 14, 2006 06:23 PM

Help Me!!!

How do you take screenshots?

MSB3000 Jun 14, 2006 07:30 PM

F12 or Print Screen.

UF, could it be that that is made with JSD? =O

...I think it's been stated thrice that this is a Hocus Pocus mod, not JJ2...

n00b Jun 15, 2006 07:34 AM

Even if it was made in JSD, There is NO way that JJ2 would show the health as numbers. It only uses one heart sprite, and if we could change that, well, we'd have JJ2 mods off the wazoo.

Not only that, but NO airborne enemy in jj2 shoots projectiles.

Let me explain it better =D
You could create a program that reads your health, it would reset it when you got hurt, but it would also keep track of how much damage you recieve. It would subtract the amount of damage you recive from whatever number you specify, and then to display it, you would have some text (like text event text.) that got memory edited, to display the number in the correct place, to prevent the text from moving or going off the screen you would nop the ASM that makes the text move.

n00b Jun 15, 2006 11:26 AM

That would prove impratical. AFAIK, in Single Player JJ2 can only display 1 text event at a time. Why would Violet leave a Terexin NPC around if he won't say anything?

Very impractical, but still possible ;D

Blackraptor Jun 15, 2006 02:35 PM

Violet's screenshot interests me more than most of the other ones here, sorry =\.

Theive's Guild scenes

Here are some screenies from my latest levelpack!

The screenies include scenes from the thieve's guild, one dodging the security spotlights (And doing a pretty bad job of it!), the other doing a box puzzle after sliding down a garbage chute.

Hmm, looks nice.

Biohazard UOI Jun 20, 2006 04:59 PM

I finally uploaded my BioWinter tileset that I've been working on for quite some time now.

The tileset is all great, but the dirt could use some improvment.

That looks quite pretty. Except the background tiles meant to cover up the upper half of the parallax(sp?) background don't tile well...

And what Birdie said to Biohazard. The tileset looks awesome, but the ground is too repetitive.

It's pretty hard to recreate the old Beach BG, except for the poorly colored bit, I'm actually extremely close.

minmay Jul 1, 2006 06:57 AM

Ugh, once again everyone is wooing over Cooba's screenshots yet I see absolutely nothing special about them.

n00b Jul 1, 2006 07:09 AM

Cooba's screenshots look decent, but the ant-gravity 'shrooms bug me.

DoubleGJ Jul 1, 2006 07:10 AM

I guess they're supposed to be growing on the mountains.

n00b Jul 1, 2006 07:13 AM

Those are some gigantic 'shrooms then.

do you ever see special stuff in any screenshot which isnt yours? :o

don't you bother arguing over these screens, defost.

R3ptile Jul 1, 2006 07:52 AM

there's a very early alpha

Good point, n00b! If spaz were to stand on one of those mushrooms, he could kick his way from one end to about halfway!:p

(And Spaz's kick can go pretty far!)

Also, P4ul, I LOVE the eyecandy in your level,*giggles* it's better eyecandy than goes into my Theive's guild or even my Jack city level!

Iv'e got a question for you though. What level type is it for?

Yes, but only rarely. And I hardly ever see anything special in my own.

Does saying I like them count as arguing? I like Cooba's, too, you know, I just don't see anything special in them. Since saying I see nothing special in these (despite liking them a lot) will start a flame war, I won't say it.

Biohazard: Some parts of your tilesets are of lower quality than what they resembled, such as the frozen dopefish and baddies, the HH98-style ground and the HH94 (or 95..?) trees. I don't like the grass very much either, since it's more dotty than patchy and they look like spikes.

The big picture still looks stunning. The mountains, sky and clouds are amazing, and it doesn't really matter that textured backgrounds are harder to use. I really like the in-built animated snow (finally you can have proper snow in multiplayer!).

While there aren't many natural objects, every single one is..um, adorable. I loved the stompable ice surfaces, revealing water underneath...looks cold. :p The blue, snowy Carrotus pole tree is also a nice touch. Good job getting the white colour right. Talking about colour, the snow is a bit untextured, but that 3x1 'curl' of snow looks kinda delicious. Ooh, and I still enjoyed the deep-frozen characters. They reminded me of the ice cave scene in Ice Age. You could add more interesting stuff into the ice (I actually thought that castle was also in the ice block from your screenshot..), not just dopefish. ;)

I have to stop writing now or I might as well turn it into a review (was I using a constant tense throughout? :|). A final thing...with a few tile adjustments and additions, this cold very well be turned into Blackraptor's Lair. ;)

R3p: Your picture's down.

minmay Jul 1, 2006 03:29 PM

I don't want to show a very large portion of this level. I feel I'll be flamed enough for this tiny screenshot.

n00b Jul 1, 2006 03:41 PM

I read that as "I want to show a very large portion of this level" That threw me for a loop.
