Stijn Nov 9, 2008 11:45 AM

wtf?

Jimbob Nov 9, 2008 01:30 PM

@cooba: Looks like a clone of Medieval Skyscrapers to me.

Still very nice ;D

Stijn Nov 9, 2008 01:38 PM

What, because it uses the same tileset and game type?

n00b Nov 9, 2008 01:40 PM

I have to admit, after reading a whole page of rampant to mild hype, Cooba's screenshot was a bit of a letdown.

My sentiments are the same as St. Louis' about it.

Jimbob Nov 9, 2008 02:03 PM

dude, wtf? I was just saying something. calm down.
You don't have to (-)(-)(-)(-)ing PA me over one single comment. You ALWAYS do that.

cooba Nov 9, 2008 02:07 PM

Jimbob calling my level a clone = "just saying something"
Me calling his level a clone = "(-)(-)(-)(-)ing PA"

Jimbob Nov 9, 2008 02:25 PM

because they way you said it, it came out very rude.
"Still very nice" and
"Still very not nice"
are totally different.

Stijn Nov 9, 2008 02:26 PM

That's not a PA though, it's just cooba saying that your level (or levels by you in general) is (are) "still not nice".

If you don't want people telling you that your level doesn't look good, don't post screenshots here — and reconsider the way you give feedback.

"But it was just him dissing my level, he didn't give any constructive criticism!" — nor did you offer any arguments for why cooba's level is "a clone of Medieval Skyscrapers".

Jimbob Nov 9, 2008 02:29 PM

but it's only cooba that does that.
Also, "cooba[si]: If you want to be a (-)ty level maker, go right ahead."
I still remember that.

And I wasn't being negative about that screenshot.

Stijn Nov 9, 2008 02:31 PM

Well, it's not against to rules to speak negatively of someone else's level, so deal with it or stop posting in this thread. Of course it'd have been nice if cooba replied constructively instead of just qualifying your screenshot as "not nice".

But then again unfoundedly claiming someone else's level completely rips off another level is not very nice to begin with.

Jimbob Nov 9, 2008 02:37 PM

But I wasn't trying to be negative D:.

And from what I understand, nowhere did I say that it was an exact clone, I just meant I thought it looked similar. Ok?

Oh, no, of course, not at all. We're cool.

Olsen Nov 9, 2008 11:56 PM

Oh the hate =D

Ragnarok! Nov 10, 2008 06:30 AM

I say this thread gets closed altogether

Err, guys seriously.

And at the level, yeah it uses the same set, so? Does that mean any battleships level made is a ripoff of SBv2? In which case... I rip blur a lot... (And to answer any questions, this is not directed at Jimbob, its just some others said its a ripoff too (possibly not in this forum))

Hitch Nov 10, 2008 09:43 AM

Memories 2: Radiant Garden

Jimbob Nov 10, 2008 11:10 AM

Well I have a bad habit of saying things I don't mean... sorry. D=

I didn't mean to 'claim your level was a clone', cooba, but I just meant to say it looked kind of similar.
whatever.

Stijn Nov 10, 2008 11:23 AM

Yeah, we got it Eigus. No need to keep repeating it.

Troglobite Nov 10, 2008 12:25 PM

All these post seem to be distracting from the fact that Hitch just finished some awesome levels. I haven't had a chance to play them agianst other people, because my router's been giving me problems, but from what I've seen, the levels rock. I especially like his flag run level. It's much larger than many flag run levels, and I think the dead zone was an awesome idea.

Raven aka StL Nov 10, 2008 03:24 PM

I expected better from you, troglobite.

n00b Nov 10, 2008 03:51 PM

Troglobite: The only one in this thread with some sense.
His is the correct answer, people.

It seems you've used up layers 5-7 to make the background... failure is nigh.

Not rlly. The tileset features enough tiles to make 'layer 5 eyecandy' in layer 4.

Posts like this is why I can't take JJ2 level making seriously.

So? Better to try to "Fail" than to not try at all.

CrimiClown Nov 12, 2008 03:35 AM

I seriously don't get his point. stlois ur wierd. :(

Raven aka StL Nov 12, 2008 06:07 AM

Fine, my comments here are done, since they seem to collect half-arsed, twice as pointless replies and too much attention. ;)

Thought so, excuse me.

You people need not be so dead serious about everything.

Stijn Nov 12, 2008 09:21 AM

Replies more pointless than yours?

He who is without sin... with your shakespearian replies all the time you are the one coming across as overly serious, really.

Troglobite Nov 12, 2008 01:00 PM

I'm starting work on a new tileset. I've barely done anything, but I took this screenshot for fun (and in hopes of getting this thread back on track.)

The tileset's going to be a small, suburban town, where Jazz might spend time when he's not saving the world. I used Neobeo's sprite dynamite to get all the frames of the Jazz running animation, but replaced the gun with a lawnmower. I haven't even made any ground tiles, so I used water to make sure the palette's ok.

Raven aka StL Nov 12, 2008 03:00 PM

That's ridiculously awesome. Let me beta-test it. :D

Just keep it the way it is and name the level "Mexican Jesus".
