Add more sections like Site Map
I don't think you need that, because the website is not confusing enough (well maybe jv2 is)

Maybe somehow making the site allow you to change the theme like this board
Ye! Cuz this yellowish greenish black skinny sucks! You know what? Make a skin as follows: big white letter on black or light blue background ::thumbsup::
hehe

How adding some Flash to the site?
Nooooo way!
I do not like flash website, cuz the do load too much time, but then they freeze up n I never return to that kind of websites. Except if they are made in flash v.6 or less.

How about removing J2O PM system at all, leaving JCF?

Good idea!

Site music, although it sounds 'cool', is dumb. There is no reason for it, for one, and I don't really like MIDIs, since everyone is screwing them up now.

Not a bad suggestion, assuming it doesn't count for review stats.

That's probably because I am an amateur; I am getting paid nothing to post here. The point I was trying to make is that, to be blunt, site music is a horrible, horrible idea. Site music is annoying, neophyte-ish, bandwidth-stealing, and just not a good idea in any imaginable way. The same goes with site counters, although those are a good deal less annoying and a good deal more reminiscent of 1999 (which is a bad thing.)

That's what I said, any review written after the first one will not count toward the review count.

Hey, 1999 was a great year! Ask Prince if you don't believe me!

NeoBlaze May 16, 2004 10:29 AM

Why, site music could be a great idea, but while these two conditions are true:
1) There is a few different midi files, which are randomly picked.
2) These midi files are a good "ear candy". (ye, I just invented this term)

Risp_old May 16, 2004 10:41 AM

3) There is an option to turn it off so it doesn't automatically load and play

Right!
And that option I could create.

MoonBlazE May 16, 2004 12:08 PM

I bet my money on FQuist could do that perfectly fine himself.

NeoBlaze May 16, 2004 12:33 PM

I meant, I could help him if he needs it. I am just offering help, which he said I could offer if I wish. Why, you got a problem with me helping?

Really, that should be new, I haven't seen any music work on the internet with JJ2 sites ever. This would be interesting...

With the JCF, since you were talking about how you could make it (disable smileys in user options) in a very short time I believe. No help with J2Ov2 needed but thanks for the offer.

I don't see any reason for site music. I mean, that's what you have winamp for, isn't it? And on by default? Way to go for reducing our visitor count to 0.

Yeah, you are right. Me, personally, would disable the music immediately.

I don't really understand what you mean, except that you don't need help with j2ov2.
I didn't say I make the option in a short time, but I am also not working on it, because you didn't reply in that topic, about where exactly do you need that option.
Still, it is easy for me to do, but you have to add a new field in the user's options table (I think, that table is called USER) called something like smiliedef, which can carry value 1 or 0, zero by default, not null (that's the field's settings)
Then, I believe, I will have to do the following:

1. register.php:
- edit INSERT INTO user query)
2. register template:
- add radio box
3. profile.php?do=editoptions
- edit UPDATE user query
4. editoptions template:
- add radio box
5. showthread.php
- set the variable value
6. quickreply template
- insert the hidden field with value from 5
7. newreply.php?do=newreply
- get the user option
8. newreply template
- replace the static field value with the value from the variable

This hack will need no additional queries.
So...?

Tubz May 21, 2004 12:14 PM

I really think you should PM Nebula, Neo. He is like the head programmer of J2O.

NeoBlaze May 21, 2004 02:12 PM

JJ, I don't really care. I am just offering help - if admins here do not accept it, thats their business, not mine. I can live without this website as well.

Tubz May 23, 2004 10:53 AM

^^^

Lol, I'm just saying that Nebula is strictly programming. He probably doesn't care what goes on with the site, like the downloads and stuff.

Blackraptor Jun 12, 2004 07:26 PM

If this wasnt mentioned before, I suggest there being a way to sort the reviews you wrote in various ways (ex. by lenght or by date posted) so you can see which are your oldest/shortest reviews and which are your newest/longest etc.

No he's not.

How come you always manage to say these things about J2O/JCF which are based on no single fact?

I'll do that soon.

cooba Jul 28, 2004 11:00 AM

I would like to have one year old topics automatically closing to prevent revivals.

Stijn Jul 28, 2004 12:06 PM

And what if a revivial is useful? Like reviving a thread about your levelpack that you are gonna work on because it's done (one year later)?

n0 Jul 28, 2004 09:12 PM

Make a new post and give a link to the old post!

This is for J2Ov2, not the JCF. J2Ov2 is the new version of J2O and will NOT include the JCF.

Crono5 Aug 5, 2004 12:55 PM

I would like to see J2Ov2 actually made. what, its been like 2 years now? common people, its ok to take your time but this is absurd.

Tik Aug 5, 2004 12:57 PM

You have NO idea, Crono.

Violet CLM Aug 5, 2004 02:08 PM

Yeah, it has been like two years, but it's mostly done now.
