FawFul Feb 16, 2009 03:48 AM

that's like the 10234th time you use diamondus o.o (ok seriously around the 6th time)

but.. o well.. i am making an exception because it's an old diamondus pallette of mine :p

Superjazz Feb 16, 2009 07:06 AM

I have a fear that the gameplay there is going to be almost entirely tunnely. Now that is at least a suitable amount of diamonds(or scenery in solid wall general). It though unreastically repeats itself a bit too much. I guess that the level name is quite relative to a DF song title. I appreciate it though, since I like naming some of my levels after songs too.

Jimbob Feb 16, 2009 08:57 AM

Lol, I guess this happens quite alot for a person who likes spamming diamonds and making tunnely gameplay (not literally, but you get the point lol).

Plus I love Diamondus (I just wish it wasn't so fricken overused) and CTF is my personal favorite gametype.

Could've been mine too, if the 30 sec timeout was solved...

FawFul Feb 17, 2009 05:35 AM

yes, but don't tell me Diamondus is the only tileset you like.. maybe you should try something different.. hanging on 1 tileset makes people find your levels very unoriginal after time.

I know it looks bare right now, but this is only 17% complete.
The Ground Floor and Basement are finished!
Just 1-5F and the Roof to build.

I always find it awesome how precise people are able to estimate their progress.

Hitch Feb 18, 2009 01:03 PM

Haha 17% spaz D:

Keep it up!

you posted faster than me :()

PurpleJazz Feb 19, 2009 03:32 AM

My level is 41.0493949838921039404095382% complete!

CrimiClown Feb 19, 2009 03:51 AM

With me, it's simple. When I first announce making a level, it is still 0% complete (not counting the idea itself, but only the actual JCS progress). Then, before I have the chance to post again, it is 100% completed, betatested and available on J2O.

Troglobite Feb 19, 2009 04:12 PM

You simply have to calculate the number of tiles your level will have, and how many tiles you have already added. Then its a simple division problem and you know exactly what percent is done.

FawFul Feb 21, 2009 04:20 AM

what about difficult designs left to do? or eyecandy. or amount off Events that must be placed. and bugfixes :P?

Jimbob Feb 22, 2009 02:55 PM

As you can probably see from my signature, I am making a new level pack (which hopefully I will actually be able to finish!)

PS: Tell me if the name's already been used.

PurpleJazz Feb 23, 2009 12:02 AM

Yellow light (y_light.xm) would not fit that level imo. It sounds more like something that would fit a futuristic city better.

Jimbob Feb 23, 2009 06:12 AM

Imo it does fit the level actually. It looks (and sounds) way better in game than it does on a screenshot ;p

New Ages
Impressions
Memories
Legends
Legacies

That totally isn't a cliche pattern, no.

Grytolle Feb 23, 2009 09:36 AM

hahahaha :D

Jimbob Feb 23, 2009 02:47 PM

But I like cliches xD.

Unhit Feb 23, 2009 03:28 PM

im currently working on a hard level. im attempting to map all the memories from saturday night :/

Hitch Feb 23, 2009 05:28 PM

Update: Memories 3

Well I've made up my decision on what to end up putting in the overall pack.

Finished:

Assault x1
Assassination x1
Bank Robbery x1
Flag Run x2

Working on

Jail Break

Addition to the pack

Battle x2
Gold Rush x2

Overall levels in the pack: 10

For your information, the Battle levels will have a Gold rush version, for an extra addition. Most likely, I'll be mixing up the Battle and Gold Rush levels, so there's something new to expect from each level. Since there's such a low quantity of Gold rush levels, I'd thought it would be a nice treat. And for the battle levels, we could always use more.

Now for some pictures!

So far, I've spent about 5-7 days on this. It's almost finished, just have to figure out how I want the center to look like. Other than that, it's nearly complete. I'm so used to Symmetrical levels, it's takes nearly half a day for me to complete the other side. After finishing this level, I'm going to take a break for a bit. I got back into playing Tennis, and made the team, so I'll be doing that quite a lot, (4-6 hours a day.. I try) Though when I get home, and there's nothing to do, I can always open JCS and let my mind flow. Anyway, it's not that far from releasing this pack. Expect a release this weekend early may ... at the latest.

SPAZ18 Feb 26, 2009 10:00 AM

Another screen of the Assault level:

Those two pedestal like things are switches. There are 4 doors (2 on left, 2 on right). These switches will open 2 doors and close the other 2.
Just jump on top of them to press them down.

The layer 3 bricks look out of place and obscure the view. In contrast, the bricks above and below are too bland. Focus more on layer 4 eyecandy and less on layer 3. Try to obstruct the player's view as little as possible, especially in multiplayer levels.

CrimiClown Mar 5, 2009 12:48 AM

Thanks for the critique, but to be entirely honest, this isn't a level I'm making. It's a mock-up of Left 4 Dead and only few people will get the reference.

DarkSonic Mar 5, 2009 02:57 AM

And I am one of those people! ;D

PurpleJazz Apr 8, 2009 09:05 AM

What happened to this topic? D:

Something to keep you busy.
Rag deserves credit too.

Violet CLM Apr 8, 2009 09:14 AM

Now that's Crysilis. None of those crazy squared-off pipes dominating the entire level.

SPAZ18 Apr 8, 2009 12:12 PM

WOW!
That has got to be one of the best uses of CrysillisV ever!

Raven aka StL Apr 8, 2009 12:39 PM

Awesome revival, nice use of ground, bad use of masked pillars.
And it looks good and interesting.

(And whoever wants to point out some minor unavoidable? tilebugs can get out of here).

Jimbob Apr 9, 2009 06:55 PM

An Update

Just started working on the pack again today.

This is the fourth level. It might look a little bit bland but that's because I just started working on it today. I've been working on this level for about 5 or 6 hours today and this is the only area complete enough to screenshot.

By the way, yes, you can walk in the water :s

FawFul Apr 10, 2009 12:07 AM

looks nice

CrimiClown Apr 10, 2009 02:49 AM

Yes, very nice indeed. What a theme. :)

PurpleJazz Apr 10, 2009 05:28 AM

180x180? O.o
Are you sure?

Jimbob Apr 10, 2009 09:18 AM

Yes I'm sure. Hey at least I'm making one ;p

I tried to create a monster, but it turned out pretty well if I may say so.

Ragnarok! Apr 25, 2009 06:54 AM

;D I'd say.
