It goes to the right imo

^Vegetable is right. It indeed goes right.

DoubleGJ Mar 21, 2010 10:36 AM

I for one think it goes up. Notice the wall on the very right edge of the screenshot.

"Need to place some enemies."'

So far this has been fun to design and whatnot. It will be most likely one of my last 2 projects, and my hopefully also my best one. :)

EDIT: what to do is also add some lightning. I also took other screenshot off, because the level looks bad in screenshots..

TechnoPauluz Mar 23, 2010 12:04 PM

Crazy Rabbit Mar 23, 2010 09:20 PM

Go ahead Snooze, your lvls rox... ;)
I know it on 110%

JanusJackrabbit Mar 23, 2010 10:33 PM

Here's a cave-in scene from A Pipe Dream - a level I'm working on. I might make it into a pack if reviews are good enough, but it's going to take like a year. This level is HUGE.

I really love those 'double bridges'. Haven't seen that one before, nice eyecandy.

What size exactly do you mean? I actually think that there is no stand-alone level I would be making as long.

I just set an arbitrary number: 512x256. I've used up about 1/4 of that space so far, but there are very few "open air" type areas. I have a thing about wasting space.

Thanks, I was worried that level I'm working on will have a rival. I'm making an 800x800 one. It's something like 60% done in two months, so I just can't imagine making smaller level a year. Don't you drink snzspeed?

Puffie40 Mar 25, 2010 08:49 AM

speaking of level sizes

Just out of curiousity, is there a maximum size you can set your level in JCS?

Hey, its looking NICE! ;)
But what's this?

Violet CLM Apr 2, 2010 09:49 PM

It looks rather similar to a graphics edit for the JJ1 bonus stages.

FawFul Apr 11, 2010 01:15 AM

looks good. but i don't see very much possibilities, except in the stone building. perhaps make tree ledges like in diamondus ^^.

It looks good, and should turn out to be a good tileset, but I suggest that you try to find something to make it a bit more unique. Right now the tileset is very similar to townsville 2, judging by those screenshots. Ask yourself what you can add to it that will make it different from anything else out there.

Seren Apr 11, 2010 02:43 AM

I'm making some kind of a sacrilege:

And as I already said, it'll be 800x800.

Torkell Apr 11, 2010 10:18 AM

@Obi1mcd: the dirt/earth texture looks like one of those random dot stereograms...

PurpleJazz Apr 11, 2010 11:34 AM

I've also just noticed how messed up some of the proportions are. The bin is almost as large as that door, and the fence in the background hills also seems to be massive, considering those are distant hills, they give the impression that the fence is much taller than it should be.

Aside from that, the tileset looks very promising so far.

Distance is a matter of scroll speed. If the hills scroll quickly then the fence isn't so large. The screenshot makes them look distant, but they might not be in the actual level.

Looking interest! Can you later make Village House Inside? :-)

Obi1mcd Apr 13, 2010 02:53 AM

Evilmike: Townsville 2 did give me some inspiration, but I have some ideas to make it a bit more unique, thanks!
PurpleJazz: The fence has been bugging me a little. Dunno yet. It's still a work-in-progress though, and I'm less than 1/4 of the way there.
Torkell: I see. This is the 3rd texture, so I'll fiddle around further.
Thanks for the comments!
