JCF Name Change Requests (Read first post!)
 

We are now allowing people to change their username. This will reduce the frequency of double accounts just for a different name. There are, however, several rules for name changes.

1. You may not add or modify clan tags. You can remove existing ones, keep them the way they are, or move them to a different spot in your username. We discourage the use of clan tags in usernames.
2. You may not change your username within five months of your previous username change, or within five months of registration. So choose your usernames carefully.
3. Requests need a good reasoning, especially if you have changed your name before.
4. Admins can always refuse to change your name for any reason.
5. The new username must follow all normal board rules (e.g. no profanity, no misleading names like "admin", etc.)

Post your requests in this topic. If your change is acceptable, it will be permanently recorded in this post with the date of the change. This serves as a record in case there is any doubt of your identity. We will also add a "former username" field to your user profile (and shown on posts) which you can request to be removed after one month.

1. The former username field is only for former usernames. It shall not be used for any other purpose.
2. The former username field may be removed after a one month oeriod upon request.

To make changes as efficient as possible, please specify exactly what you want your name to be. It would be a good idea to put it in quotation marks ("") if there could be any confusion with punctuation or spacing. If we incorrectly change the name, we'll fix it, but it's best to be right the first time.

There is already a user "Xeno". I'm assuming it's you - so do you want to rename it to "Xeno_old" and change "Vercoln" to "Xeno"? Or do you want a new password for "Xeno"? I can't really merge the accounts, so you'll have two accounts no matter what. Currently "Vercoln" has 123 posts and registered in June 2002, and "Xeno" has 226 posts and registered in March 2001.

Xeno has an old, unused email. Just switch that one to Xeno_old and make this one Xeno (or whichever is easiest).

Just to escape one of those useless rules, about clan tags. This would perfectly legitimate to do anyway. So I'm changin my name to just Tublear, 5 months from now, that should be allowed, ha.

I don't yet have a clantag in my name. But I'm not the good old Alexander BG anymore for 3 and even more months. And I'm well known as Alex[LR], but if I become just Alex or Alexander, people who know me as Alex[LR] may not recognize that it's me (same is with the name I have now :p)

yeah, give it some thought. I wouldn't worry too much about people not knowing you. It's not your name, it's how you play. :)
