Patch Problem

I just bought J2, and when I installed, and tried to patch it using the patch hosted on this site I couldn't because the patch on this site is for version 1.21-1.23, whereas the version I have is 1.00, Does anyone know where I can download a patch for version 1.00?

White Rabbit Sep 28, 2005 12:02 PM

Whoa, 1.00 is a really old version. Did you get the game with a box, manual and CD case?

I don't think there is a patch for 1.00 to anything, but other ppl know more.... :p

cooba Sep 28, 2005 12:04 PM

There's no patch for 1.00#'s, sorry.

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 12:16 PM

argh

(-), that sucks, cause I wanted to play online, and I have the secret files, but no one appears to play taht, they all play 1.23, and taht's the original jazz.

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 12:16 PM

thanks for you help though

Cpp Sep 28, 2005 12:19 PM

You can still play 1.23 with 1.24 using this program.
Cheers.

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 12:21 PM

thx

n00b Sep 28, 2005 12:27 PM

Speaking of which, what version of 1.00 do you have? 1.00g or 1.00h?
If it's 1.00h be prepared for random people who will ask for your copy of the game.

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 12:30 PM

i have 1.00g,
but when I tryto run the controller 4, when I try to change the version, I says,
'Game is not running'
and when I hsot the game, and try to save changfes, it says
'game is in progress cannot save changes'
sry, i know i'm a noob, but its been a really long time since i played jazz2, and I was lucky to get it, and sso I've been looking forward to playing it, and now there are problems
anyways, help would be appreciated thx

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 12:40 PM

hmm... I have my Zone alarms shutdown, my ports 10052-10054 conifed for port forwarding, and yet I still get a connection error, the jazz2online help said to post it in this forum, so here's the post:
help plz

Sonyk Sep 28, 2005 01:21 PM

1.00g is an illegal beta version. Being a beta, you can't upgrade it, or really use it for anything but single player. The levels are in a different format, and it doesn't come with a JCS.

Buy the game please.

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 01:44 PM

OMFG! I got ripped off!
oh well... thank you for you help
ARGH!

White Rabbit Sep 28, 2005 01:57 PM

It's not all bad. You still got TSF. ;)

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 02:01 PM

That happened when using Controller 4 for 1.00g and not 1.24, right? If the answer's yes, don't worry about it. If no, then...

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 02:15 PM

when i run 1.24 TSF, i ge the error, never tried it with 1.00g
always connection errors

White Rabbit Sep 28, 2005 02:21 PM

Connection errors? Hm...have you downloaded the listserver patch for TSF?

Buy the game please.

It's legal (-). It all depends on how you aqquire it. As he said he bought it, and I beleive him since OEM discs have been seen on Ebay and Baggers bought one at a Garage sale. That and multiple sites have explained how the OEM discs were distributed.

Maybe you should research everything first.

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 02:26 PM

yeah i did, same prob

White Rabbit Sep 28, 2005 02:27 PM

Lol? Ask n00bz. :p

raidercomgmail Sep 28, 2005 02:28 PM

k, thanks

White Rabbit Sep 28, 2005 02:29 PM

You're welcome. ;) It's always nice to help out. :D

Sonyk Sep 28, 2005 03:00 PM

@n00b: That's 1.00 OEM version. Not the betas. Which from my memory (I had one once, installed it and never really played it, then lost it), only said 1.00. Maybe you should stop acting like a pompous jerk.

1.00g is an OEM version.

Wow...i have a rather rare item here !

There you have it, 1.00 is the legal OEM version given out with certain hardware from 1997 or so. Your definition of OEM is confused with beta. 1.00g is a beta, 1.00 is an OEM.

I'll leave it at that.

Baggers was kind enough to send me his beta version and I noticed that it was 1.00h which is a beta as well.

n00b Sep 29, 2005 01:28 PM

So there's some other version of 1.00g floating around that wasn't originally distributed as OEM from Intel? Fascinating.

White Rabbit Oct 11, 2005 07:19 AM

Any updates on this? :(

NovaStar Oct 18, 2005 12:24 PM

 :OZOMG
I had 1.00 and I could update it!
It was 1.00 with nothing on the end too!
Zomg....

LittleFreak Oct 19, 2005 03:48 AM

1.00 with no letter at the end? Are you sure?

VashTheStampede Oct 19, 2005 02:29 PM

yeah wel get ready to flame me,

i have almost every version of jazz2

all xmas, 1.00g and h, 1.20, 1.21, 1.22, 1.23,1.24, beta of battery check, full battery check.... the list goes on.

how i got this?

fiendMM gave it all to me. i have no clue where he got it though.

Grytolle Oct 20, 2005 12:10 AM

Who doesn't? (;

VashTheStampede Oct 20, 2005 12:56 AM

hey i just realized after being deleted from the forum ("on accident") a few years ago, this post puts me at 1234. though it really is something like 16xx

For starters there are two seperate patches: one for the retail version and another for the Shareware Demo. Are you sure you got the right one?

Can you give more detail on what happens when you try to run the patch, and how you run it?

Well,I have the full version 1.20, and the patch runs and passes by till the check of the previous version, then in the "Patching Files" process it stops immidiately and says

"There's a problem with the patches for the following files :

Capture1.j2l - Unknown version

Please reinstall jazz jackrabbit2 from your CD or Shareware installer and re-apply

this patch"

Thats all and thnx :)

LittleFreak Nov 15, 2005 10:20 AM

I take a wild guess and say your capture1.j2l is damaged somehow. Maybe replacing it with a normal one will fix the problem?

If you give me your e-mail address I can send you the file and you just need to replace it.

There's no guarantee this will work, but it seems to be the cause.

The Rock-it Rabbit Nov 15, 2005 12:25 PM

Thanx Little freak, I also guessed this and wondered if it would work,

anyway my public e-mail is : samurai_2150@yahoo.com

I'll wait for your message

and thnx alot :)

LittleFreak Nov 16, 2005 03:18 AM

Sent.

The Rock-it Rabbit Nov 16, 2005 08:41 AM

Thank you LittleFreak, the file was sent, and believe what?????

It works !!!!!!

That was a crazy idea , but many time crazy ideas are the only solution for stupid situation like this!!!

Never stop[ thinin' crazy!!
