What 1.25 should have. You can post your own, too.

Hi! Pako the freak here.

20. Instant-death events.
21. Animated deaths ala Crash Bandicoot.
22. All the nonworking events in JCS, FIXED.
23. Regulable brightness in the light events.
24. More dynamic lights.
25. Vehicles. (like mechs, motorcycles, cars and stuff)
26. Character editor.
27. Vehicle editor.
28. Enemy editor.
29. New WEAPONS, not ammo.
30. Built-in updater.
31. Automatic turret events. (Like events what shoot things without making generators)
32. Black Hole events.
33. 8 degree turnable springs.
34. 8 degree turnable tiles.
35. Up to 5000 tiles in tilesets.
36. Automatic type level saving. (1.23 levels with 1.23, TSF levels with TSF and 1.25 levels with 1.25)
37. Toggle wallclimb on-off.
38. More game modes.
39. Events archived for each game mode, like ammo in battle folder, CTF flags in CTF folder, gems in Treasure Hunt folder, etc.

42. Not only 1ups, add 3ups, 5ups and 7ups.
43. Casino events.

I just didn't want to bump an old topic :(

LittleFreak Oct 10, 2005 07:58 AM

Fixing of all bugs that have absolutely no use and nothing else. After all it's a patch, not an add-on.

Hipper Oct 10, 2005 08:45 AM

Clothes. - Aren't those too much for small rabbits?
Format type chat. - Quite useless.
Automatic uncolored names in CTF. - Why???
Cutable, Copiable and Pasteable chat. - For flooding!?
Autoshield when chatting. - Eh.. Not good idea, if noobs start chatting when some1 shoots them ;p
No-hurt events. - Where will go the singleplayer challenge??
Vehicles. - I think that's too much for 2D platformer
New WEAPONS, not ammo. - ....
359 degrees turnable springs. - I think 8 directions would be enough
8 degrees turnable tiles. - No....?
Not only 1ups, add 3ups, 5ups and 7ups. - too much

UNKNOWNFILE Oct 10, 2005 08:53 AM

Dream on, there never will be a jj2 v1.25.

Because that way is easier to recognize the teams.

What if someone uses the aforementioned 5000 tile big tileset and saves the level as 1.23?

Already doable if we're thinking of the same thing. (diagonal tubes?)

Not at my JJ2:S I saw some people talking about an actually woking bubbler event too, but it doesnt work for me:S dunno whats wrong here, but maybe a nice fix would be fixing the parts of my JJ2 that dont work:confused::confused::confused::confused::confu sed::confused::confused::confused::confused:

As far as I know, it IS working. Or in case you've been trying to get the bubbler event to push you up like in Marinated Rabbit, that is done with float ups.

I'm not even going to bother going through the rest of the list, but this caught my eye. A set of clothes for one rabbit alone with be approximately a megabyte. If you wanted it to apply to all three, that would end up being about three megabytes. How practical is this?

UNKNOWNFILE Oct 10, 2005 11:58 AM

;p I still think there is no way for a 1.25 patch, unless someone could create a sort of trainer that runs in the background and stops bugs from occuring.

Nitro Oct 10, 2005 12:14 PM

i don't like how when you shoot someone they flash invincably for so long, you should flash for 1 second at the most.

kudos Oct 10, 2005 01:27 PM

While we're dreaming, I would like to see...

- Ledge hanging (and ability to fire away from wall while hanging, like when hanging from hooks and those things in singleplayer)

- The ability to fire diagonally

- Select with how much hearts the player starts
- Select the standard playing character
- More text strings :P
- Easier way to format and color your text
- More animation tiles, if possible
- Multiple events on one tile, if possible
- Customize enemies (how many hits it takes to destroy them, how many points they get you, how many damage they do to you)
- Select the number of gems that earns you an extra live at the level exit
- Make bonus/secret levels less buggy and easier to work with
- Add a "Medium" difficulty level in the event properties window, and change the dropdownbox to checkboxes (so you can select multiple difficulties an event appears on, not just one)
- Make no fire zone work in singleplayer
- Add a spelling check to the text string thingy
- Set how many tiles a spring moves you up
- Customize hotkeys
- A button that brings up a file browser where you can select the music, instead of that dodgy text field where you have to fill in the filename manually
- A somewhat easier way to set the angle a trigger rock falls on (like a window with axis where you can simply drag a line to the correct angle)
- Ambient sound selector
- Choose how long a shield lasts and how much damage your Whammo Ammo does
- More 1337 light effects
- More "auto-morph" events (not just jazz>frog and frog>jazz)
- Disable or enable (certain) cheats for a level
- Easy color selector for the textured background (though I don't need that :P)
- More background/layer movement effects
- Time limits for SP and MP levels, perform certain actions if a certain amount of points/gems is reached
- Sprite movement scripting (though this might be very difficult to make, it would be extremely cool)
- Choose how many hearts a carrot gives you back
- Customize weapons for each levels: for example, an option that prevents TNT form destroying all blocks, an option that sets the amount of damage a weapon does, etc
- More triggers and warps, and something that keeps track of which trigger/warp IDs you already used :P
- Resize the JCS window parts horizontally
- In case a level has multiple bosses, you should be able to select which one is the final boss for the level (e.g. the one that lets you finish it)

IN JJ2 ITSELF, FIX:
- Co-op mode
- The easy way of killing bosses by buttstomping/kicking
- The fact that you're invincible while buttstomping (at least most of the time)
- JJ2 crashing because of various reasons (flipepd trigger sceneries, too much sprites etc. JJ2 could also just go back to tge main menu without crashing your PC)
- The Bubba boss jumping out of the level
- Lori not being able to grab copters
- Seekers going to the wrong spot (especially in MP)
- Events not falling down when a trigger removes the masks they're standing on
- The esc-thing with the chat
- Dodgy team chat
- The CTF bug :P
- The Rocket turtle, though I have no idea how
- Non working events, like:
- Fast Feet (should increase your running speed for X time)
- Purple gem (should actually give you gems that show up when the levels end)
- Slide (some sort of belt which lets you move with the same speed you had when you stepped on it)
- Stop Enemy should work with all enemies
- Add monitors for the Laser shield and the TNT powerup (though I don't know how a TNT powerup would benefit you)
- The "scenery" events should work (which would probably need tweaked palettes for most tilesets, but whatever)
- The "bonus warp" event should work with any amount of coins
- Remove events that don't have a sprite and don't modify the gameplay (like the "dim light" event) or fix them
- Add an event that does not modify the gameplay but is just a sprite (like MCE's or the stopwatch event). You should be abel to choose which sprite it uses

AND ALSO ADD:
- A "limit y-scrolling" event
- "enable y-scrolling" and "enable x-scrolling" events (they would act as the opposite of the "limit scrolling" events)
- A time limit for Race (player who has travelled the longest distance wins when time's up)
- An instant death event
- An "empty box event" that could contain whatever you want
- Multiple bosses in one level
- More advanced HUD (for example, the F9 players list could be made easier to read and it could contain some more information)
- A layer that hides the player's name and all other HUD elements, plus the text
- More server options, like these: (all options can be disabled :P)
- Make chatting/idle players invincible
- [In-game Project Controller functions]
- Disable certain events
- Co-op and Race should be selectable game types
- Easier level chooser
- The abilty to choose Devan as a character, after beating the Single Player
- Custom cutscenes, between levels
- More supported music formats (if possible)
- Auto-update (if needed)
- More advanced Home Cooked Level browser (filters for gametype, more than 256 levels etcetera)
- "Favourite" Home-Cooked levels (easy to choose)
- J2E maker for free :P, and the abilty to disable J2E's so they wont show up on the list
- A macro recorder (you know, the demos) that has less bugs and is easier to control (also, if possible, a .avi-exporter for the demos)
That's all for now >)
Probably full of grammar and spelling errors, but whatever.

Maybe I'll add more tomorrow or something.

Risp_old Oct 10, 2005 02:07 PM

Make it so laser shields don't crash the game in multiplayer, or at least make it impossible to use them in multiplayer.

Sonyk Oct 10, 2005 02:38 PM

I think Cooba summed it up the best.

Especially the part about there never being a 1.25.

Fawriel Oct 10, 2005 11:44 PM

I think Cooba also said a lot of nonsense. *shrugs*

Which is no excuse, because I'm Dutch, and generally I've seen Dutch people speak crappy English 'round here. I'm twelve. So yeah.

Fawriel Oct 11, 2005 09:46 AM

Dutch people generally speak English well. There's a great difference between being 10 and being 12. And I could probably collect a list of things about you that I don't like. But I don't, because I have no reason to.
Now be quiet, everyone, and let's reply to the actual topic at hand. And stop being so darn pessimistic, too.

I read it all. And.. well, I was impressed at its completeness. Not much to add there. Except the usual "more music file formats" and "more colors for tilesets" and stuff.

@ Spaz 777: The 1.25 patch is not going to be made. This thread is about what it should fix if it was released.

By simply reading the topic, you could have noticed that yourself.
