n00b Apr 3, 2006 05:32 AM

I started playing Jazz in fall of 95 or soemwhere close to it.
I probably played it in 94, but never got into it until 95

Sonyk Apr 3, 2006 05:34 AM

I first played the Jazz 1 Shareware in 1995, when I was 4 years old. I got addicted to it and bought JJ2 around when it was released in 1998.

jam Apr 3, 2006 07:13 AM

First played the OEM version (1.00h) in 1998.

DoubleGJ Apr 3, 2006 07:53 AM

First time I played JJ1 was in 1996 at my buddy's. Later I forgot about it until I played JJ2 in 1999... at my cousins'.

MSB3000 Apr 3, 2006 12:29 PM

I forget, maybe 7?

Anyway, my mom bought the HH98 shareware, which included the shareware of the actual game.

Odin Apr 3, 2006 12:45 PM

I started playing JJ1 when I was three or four. Around there. So, around 1994/1995.

ThunderPX Apr 3, 2006 12:46 PM

Two. I'm dead serious.

Doubble Dutch Apr 3, 2006 11:40 PM

I believe that. I played tetris when I was two.

But Jazz had to wait until I was four!

Tweeter Apr 4, 2006 12:36 PM

Older than many of you.

ShadowGPW Apr 4, 2006 07:57 PM

15 years old at 1998 (Shareware JJ2)

Blade Apr 23, 2006 11:38 AM

JJ1: Hm, I was probably six or seven. Always played the shareware version, I got the full with my JJ2.I have never finished JJ1, though.

JJ2: That was 1998 first with shareware version at 11 years old. I was quite a kid. World looks and feels a little bit different these days :)

Chiyu Apr 23, 2006 11:58 AM

I was 12.

MaGoo Apr 23, 2006 12:01 PM

10 years old, 1998 (Shareware JJ2)

Before that I played jj1.. I played that from hmm... my 8th.. (1997)

NovaStar Apr 24, 2006 02:29 PM

6 in 2000. My auntie's a school principal and I went to her school's fair. In the library everyone was playing JJ2. It was AWESOME, so we got a copy of it. HH98 I saw in a school book order magazine in 2001, I IMMEDIANTLY ticked the appropriate boxes, got the money and sent it thru. A week later I was the proud owner of JJ2 1.23 x, or HH98.

Enigma Apr 25, 2006 10:46 AM

I think I played the JJ1 demo pretty soon after the game was released, so I'm assuming it was 1994, which would mean I was 8.

Booman Apr 25, 2006 11:19 AM

Five, got JJ1 as christmas present 95 i think.

KRSplat Apr 25, 2006 05:45 PM

I was two. The year was 1994. It was a rainy, dark evening (yes, I actually remember.) My dad brought home a disc full of shareware PC games. My even younger sister wanted to play Jazz Jackrabbit because she liked bunnies. And there you have it.

I never bought the full version of JJ1. I did look, but I was young and not very good and finding stuff.

Then in 1998 I picked up JJ2 at CompUSA. Of course, it came with the full version of JJ1. I was very pleased.

Hare Apr 26, 2006 12:13 AM

Uhm.... JJ1 demo in '96. There was a corner market that had shareware disks for like, a dollar apiece. I bought a few, but didn't pick up jazz right away since the cover art was a little ugly. I think I was around 15 at that time.

Downloaded the JJ2 demo, then later bought the full version in 2000 with money from my first real job. I ordered it off the net along with some supplies for a real rabbit that I would get later :). I was 19 and I've still got the reciept. Oh yeah, cover art still butt ugly :P.

Cpp Apr 26, 2006 12:54 PM

If I'm correct, I first played the jj1 shareware I got on a shareware collection CD. Don't remember the exact date I got it, but I think it was before the Win95 days back in 1994/95. My age was about 10 years at that time.

Aiko Apr 26, 2006 02:15 PM

I was 13 when when i first played the JJ1 shareware in 1994.

Doubble Dutch Apr 27, 2006 09:35 PM

Thats unlucky.

Alister Apr 28, 2006 08:17 AM

I was 15 when I bought JJ2 (with TSF). I guess I must have been 14 when I first played the JJ2 demo. I have no idea about anything before that.

PurpleJazz Sep 22, 2006 12:22 PM

Iam Canadian Sep 22, 2006 04:58 PM

I played Jazz when I was five, around 1994 or 1995. I got the demo for Jazz 2 in 1998, so I was about eight at the time. I think I started playing online at nine or ten.

And I'm still here. Go figure.

nyanni Sep 23, 2006 12:33 AM

I was something like 4 or 5 when I played Holiday Hare '94. And yeah, that was in day-nursery. Thanks for the ladies there who told us about Jazz. :'D Next was the Holiday hare '95, and after that, JJ2. I was around 6 then.

minmay Sep 23, 2006 11:03 AM

I trump you ALL. I played Jazz in 1995, when I was 1.5 years old. Seriously. Ask my mom.

DanYjel Sep 23, 2006 02:54 PM

I played Jazz1 first in 1997, when I was 7. I got Jazz2 to my 10th birthday. It was the best gift I've ever got

The SlaYeR Sep 24, 2006 02:29 AM

JJ2 shareware in 1998 when I was 14.

I am not sure when I first played Jazz Jackrabbit 1. I can remember playing it twice before I played the second game but I could never get into it then.

(I played nothing but adventure games before that, those were so much better then everything now.)

DanYjel Sep 24, 2006 10:18 AM

heh, it was my second game (first was cosmo comic's adventures, an awesome game).

Jimbob Sep 24, 2006 10:50 AM

I think (not quite sure) that I started playing Jazz2 probly around 2000.
(I played Shareware)
I would be around 6 at the time.

Actually, I was 14 when I bought TSF, and 13 when I played the demo.

No idea when I first played JJ1 or the JJ1 demo. My earliest Jazzy memory is of playing the second level of the 1994 Christmas edition.

Puffie40 Sep 25, 2006 10:15 AM

Back when I was a kid, I would buy anything with a rabbit on it. So when I saw a little 3.5" floppy disk cardbord box with a green rabbit on it in Calgary (I think it was 1997 or '98) I immediatly latched onto it and got it. Despite it being a shareware game, I played it inside out multiple times. (I also played Duke Nukem 2' shareware inside out as well)

I remember first hearing the menu music playing and thinking, "This has got to be a really cool game!" Ordering the JJ1 CD was my first mail order when I turned 14
