+ Tilesets

Most of you will probably have heard of (-) +. I've decided I want to make more "+" tilesets but I'm not sure which one to do next. Please vote in the poll above!

Fawriel Dec 17, 2006 02:02 PM

Make a pretty beach with sunset and... give the sand a nice color. It's harder than it sounds. Trust me. Trust me on that.

EDIT: If this has nothing to do with changing colors, excuse my ignorance, please.

PurpleJazz Dec 17, 2006 02:10 PM

That's a great idea Faw. I'll vote on Beach.

n00b Dec 17, 2006 02:29 PM

As long as the additions are stuff like sucker tubes and not "look at all of these other tiles I copied and pasted into the set!"

JanusJackrabbit Dec 17, 2006 09:02 PM

Beach and Colon could both use better backgrounds. I'd find a colon remake more useful, though. The tileset needs some reorganizing, and some varied backgrounds (and evening version =o).

Birdie Dec 18, 2006 04:17 PM

I would personally want beach, but what n00b said.

Puffie40 Dec 18, 2006 08:48 PM

Yeah, beach was one of the worst OEM tilesets in jazz2. if you could improve that, you will gain a lot of respect :)

Hareoic Dec 18, 2006 09:49 PM

More shipwrecks in the beach tileset!

WerBack3>> Dec 19, 2006 08:22 AM

Christmas time
New tilesets and wine
Rabbits singing christian rhymes

HH98 is pretty old (but 'till good)

PurpleJazz Dec 20, 2006 02:42 AM

Ok there's a clear winner in the poll above. Please keep on giving suggestions for Beach +!

Super_Jarno Dec 20, 2006 06:28 AM

Don't whine, it's just a english word/tileset name with a + behind it.

Add a boat, like in the distance for bg and stuff you can make translucent for mist!

JanusJackrabbit Dec 20, 2006 10:04 AM

Well the sand could definitely use some contrast. Background cliffs with fir trees would be good.

But PJ7's is much better.

Yes because when I think of beaches, I think of fir trees and cliffs.

PurpleJazz Dec 20, 2006 01:24 PM

One problem is with size, theres a lot of stuff you want added, but I'll only add stuff which I think is nessacary.

Jerrythabest Dec 20, 2006 02:15 PM

while I personally like the Beach tileset and don't know why it's that hated, it deserves more to be +ed than Colony or HH98... it could use grassy dunes with small bushes on the background

Violet CLM Dec 20, 2006 02:30 PM

It Needs A Cabana. ;)

Camou Dec 20, 2006 09:55 PM

Dunes with green plants on them

Is that sarcasm?

ThunderPX Dec 21, 2006 05:20 AM

I agree with the inclusion of dunes. Also, is there some way to make the water less headache-inducing?

Jerrythabest Dec 21, 2006 06:45 AM

some people say the water color depends on the tileset palette, but I haven't found out which entries that *should* be then, since I never saw any difference

since you can't change visible events through tilesets other than by palettes, I doubt you can change that

n00b Dec 21, 2006 06:51 AM

Thats only in 8bit mode Jerry. In 16bit the water defaults to blue.

The majority of beaches I've seen have cliffs and trees...

Oh thanks somehow I never tested that on 8bit

n00b Dec 21, 2006 01:01 PM

I spot 1 cliff, 0 fir trees

Jerrythabest Dec 21, 2006 01:24 PM

where's that? I'd like to go on holiday there ;P

anyway, I spot no dunes on that picture, so we could say the following: there are two types of beaches, of which we have seen one picture each :P

On my picture, the dunes are on the other side. Never been to the beach or something?

JanusJackrabbit Dec 21, 2006 02:42 PM

Ah, southern beaches.

that's just a small hill

and now let's talk about Beach + again

ShadeJackrabbit Dec 23, 2006 01:06 PM

Rainforest, with Tiki stuff and a temple. Underground/water addons would be cool.

Jerrythabest Dec 23, 2006 02:12 PM

rainforest on a beach? yeah right

I think he means as a new tileset, from Raneforus.

PurpleJazz Dec 30, 2006 01:10 PM

I have a feeling something good might happen on Monday...

Jerrythabest Dec 30, 2006 02:16 PM
