Possible JJ3 ad?

Scanned from the latest issue of Edge.

Birdie May 19, 2007 06:50 PM

Woo, Raving Rabids?

EvilMike May 19, 2007 07:14 PM

That has to be referring to jazz jackrabbit, but I remain skeptical as to whether this is something new, or something old. You say it's the latest version of Edge, but is there any proof of that?

Violet CLM May 19, 2007 10:09 PM

The latest issue of Edge came out nine days ago, but I see no mention of this elsewhere on the net. Also it seems suspicious that the ad would use the JJ2 cover art...

niek May 20, 2007 12:57 AM

This cover art is much better than the new screens of the Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 game, that's for sure. Altrough the one has more photoshop than the other..

Jerrythabest May 20, 2007 01:18 AM

That's defenately Jazz and Spaz... what does it say in the blue part at the bottom?

EvilMike May 20, 2007 03:27 AM

It says "this is fake"

Torkell May 20, 2007 03:29 AM

Which page?

er... that's Evil ;p

it starts with "... they're here to" (on the first line)

DoubleGJ May 20, 2007 05:54 AM

Whatever this is, this whole "ad" is done rather badly...

Pako May 20, 2007 06:00 AM

I think it says "...they're here to make gamers curse dodgy collision detection"

EDIT- Thx Thunder

No no, I'm pretty sure that says "This is fake"

The apostrophe is silent.

Make gamers curse.

Jerrythabest May 20, 2007 01:39 PM

............ that makes no sense to me

Play "Bunnies Never Close Doors" without reading anything about how to play it but the ingame instructions.

Jerrythabest May 20, 2007 01:47 PM

You mean play this? That made even less sense...

n00b May 20, 2007 01:51 PM

How the hell do you play a game by watching a video on the internet? Honestly Jerry, let's take a moment and think what the word "play" means.

No, he meant this minigame. I needed help to win this one!

Birdie May 21, 2007 08:27 AM

Yeah, that one is tough.

n00b May 21, 2007 08:28 AM

The secret is to aim for the bunnies, not the doors (which is what's implied to aim for in the directions).
Makes the ordeal 100x easier.

The second one is tough either way though

Jerrythabest May 21, 2007 09:35 AM

Okay, I get the dodgy collison detection joke now ;p But, back to the original subject of this thread, what's really in the blue part? I won't believe you if you say that it really says such a thing XD

Sonyk May 21, 2007 10:58 AM

"They're here to make gamers {illegible} dodgy collision detection"
Start unbelieving.

Jerrythabest May 21, 2007 11:43 AM

I still don't see the relation with Jazz and Spaz...

DoubleGJ May 21, 2007 12:06 PM

I find that ironic considering the widely known Bouncer glitch.

Jerrythabest May 21, 2007 12:30 PM

... Okay, that's a point. Don't forget wallclimbing =)

This is what it seems to say to me:
...they're here to make (gaming/gamers/grammer) (curse/cure) dodgy collision (installation/inflation/detection/detention)

Looking at comman themes:
...they're here to make gamers curse dodgy collision detection.

EDIT: Looks like a photoshop to me, on purposely made blurry. If possible, how about a full page shot including someone's hand, or at least a full page scan.

n00b May 22, 2007 03:05 PM

This Is Fake

Did you guys not get the "This is fake" hint or Rayman Raving Rabbid discussion?

ShadeJackrabbit May 22, 2007 03:58 PM

Yeah, I got the hint.

Torkell May 23, 2007 02:08 AM

Hence why I asked "which page", instead of saying "cool!", though I'll admit to being partially taken in.

In retrospect, I should have realised that the blue circle couldn't be part of the original scan.

Jerrythabest May 23, 2007 09:01 AM

Now that I look back at the first post I can clearly see it's a very bad edit lol ;p the yellowish glow just suddenly stops at two places: where the ears were ;p

very nice tho ;p you got me

The post was more for Jerry (and partially Zapper, although in retrospect it shouldn't be)

ThunderPX May 23, 2007 10:16 AM

People also didn't get "MAKE GAMERS CURSE" at size 23 so it doesn't really surprise me.

CrimiClown May 23, 2007 11:27 AM

You RUINED MY DREAMS. :(

It's Shade.

Actually, I could tell it was an edit. You can even see the leftover white parts due to not increasing the selection value enough while editing. Plus, it was obvious that the orange part was distorted very unprofessionally.

My previous comments (about needing more proof) were simply to back up my theory.

MSB3000 May 23, 2007 06:55 PM

I believe :3

I'm missing the reason why you're defending yourself.

ShadeJackrabbit May 24, 2007 09:32 AM

Not really defending myself, just talking...
(In all actuality, I forget what retrospect meant...>_<)
