Anniversary Bash 17

This is the official topic for AB17.

No one is organizing it yet, but Blackraptor and I potentially will. What are everyone's thoughts on that?

Jelly Jam Feb 19, 2015 10:03 PM

Heck, It's gonna be awesome (y)

Primpy Feb 19, 2015 10:47 PM

So, what's an Anniversary Bash?

Sweet! I think this is awesome.

ShadowGPW Feb 20, 2015 01:13 AM

I haven't attended one in a while.
Can't wait!

Love & Thunder Feb 20, 2015 03:08 AM

Looking forward to it! :)

Will mouse aiming be on this year?

Borgia Feb 20, 2015 03:47 AM

April 9th, eh? For three days? Right in the exam period...oh well, I guess there is some time to spare for a Bash. I mean, I've never participated in one before, so I'm quite curious as to what it will be like.

Slaz Feb 20, 2015 05:03 AM

I will attend, as always. And this time I might take some more screenshots. :p

How come you weren't in last year's bash? We started playing online about at the same time.

I started playing online in May of 2013 (around the 16th), so I missed that year's Bash. Why I didn't attend the one of 2014? Well, most likely because I had no knowledge of it at the time :). I'm sure I could haven been aware of it, for I made an account on jazzjackrabbit.net in August 2013. However, as you know, my account here didn't come into being until December 12th of last year.

And I didn't really spend much time on Jazz2Online either, that changed when I started uploading my levels. However, I did have an account since February 2014....

Complicated :P. Bottom line is: I just didn't know and didn't bother to look for anything.

SAMI Feb 20, 2015 11:44 AM

Cool. I'm interested to attend this aswelll. But there are possibilities that my exam may start in April. I just hope it (exam) wont start during this period. Cause during exams I can't play PC [ Of course I can, but I'll end up getting F grade as its the only day when I start studying :P]

Edit: 90% chance of exam to start at this time. F□□king hell D:

Edit: Okay, exam already started and it will end before 20 March. So I'm in.

Stijn Feb 21, 2015 10:29 AM

While I don't necessarily agree with cooba here, Primpy, how about using the search function before asking questions like this. We're not your personal FAQ service.

DoubleGJ Feb 23, 2015 12:24 AM

I'm in!

Treylina Feb 23, 2015 04:48 AM

I'll be in. I hope to finish a battle (a bigger one) and a ctf level in time for it, at least.

FireSworD Mar 2, 2015 04:08 PM

Blackraptor and I are currently in charge of the organization of AB17. If anyone has a problem with this arrangement, please let it be known.

ShadowGPW Mar 4, 2015 11:36 PM

Nope!

cooba Mar 12, 2015 09:22 AM

Just saying, if FireSworD's idea of the AB17 list is including example levels for tilesets from 2009, then my expectations for this bash are very low.

FireSworD Mar 19, 2015 12:28 AM

We need to have the finished and/or latest versions of the levels to assemble the lists. It's important to make these levels available to us soon, preferably a week or two before the bash.

Also, who's up for hosting the bash?

snzspeed Mar 25, 2015 04:29 AM

I have a level ready soon. Made esp bash in mind! :)

Loon Mar 25, 2015 05:16 AM

^..

Talec Mar 26, 2015 03:26 AM

y'all seem kind of grumpy this year but I had an idea for a level, drew it out and will see about making it before the bash

Slaz Mar 26, 2015 03:48 PM

At least it'll be a bash full of oldies, or so it seems. WB Talec! ;)

FireSworD Mar 27, 2015 01:04 AM

The deadline for potential AB17 levels to be finished and released to us is April 4th; Any levels released/finished afterwards will not be added to the lists. I will reveal the lists here soon after that date.

Talec Mar 28, 2015 08:27 PM

Thanks!

cooba Apr 3, 2015 02:10 PM

The deadline is far too harsh and will prevent a lot of otherwise nearly-done levels from being listed. I have a CTF heavily reliant on the next release of JJ2+, which is imminent but not within the deadline.

I understand you want to avoid a situation where levels are finished hours before the servers go up but a week of lockdown is draconian. You definitely do not need a week to test a pack.

Seconding this. I'd much rather have a little extra time to finish the EC in my level so I don't need to rush it. It's not like the level can't be tested anyway, as nothing is fundamentally going to change after this is done.

Thirded. I'm getting sleepy and I really don't think I can finish the EC of my remaining three levels right now. I cancelled two levels (that were meant to be finished for the bash) already.

FireSworD Apr 3, 2015 03:29 PM

New deadline: April 8th. No more extensions.

Kyro will likely host the bash.

AB17 should start on Friday the 10th. I'll reveal more details later.

cooba Apr 5, 2015 12:49 AM

I've contacted BlurredD, and chances are that Irish Beatdown will become the bash server.

FireSworD Apr 5, 2015 01:22 AM

Discuss hosting with BR and/or I please.

cooba Apr 5, 2015 03:25 AM

I would have, but it's easier to contact BlurredD than either of you.

Slaz Apr 5, 2015 04:36 AM

Whoever hosts it, I'm looking forward to play it! I had suggested Pool Party as one of the maps to Blacky, as it was one of my favs during events last JDC.

Jelly Jam Apr 5, 2015 05:46 AM

Why yes, pool party was the blast! We will deffinetly have fun at the bash :).

FireSworD Apr 8, 2015 10:23 PM

The deadline has passed. Thanks to everyone who made levels in time for AB17! - I will reveal the lists here soon, but a lot needs to be tested.

The hosting situation needs to be resolved soon. If Blur hosts, I'd like to have Kyro as backup at least.

Talec Apr 9, 2015 02:25 PM

Inability to focus hit me hard ;_; I'm sorry. NEXT YEAR and I'll have time to polish this mofo

Before I upload the packs to j2o, I at least need to get a better version of The Cauldron and a certain music file. It really helps to test levels, phew.

Blur is going to host the bash, unless something prevents that. Kyro is backup.

ShadowGPW Apr 9, 2015 11:10 PM

Wow, 3 times this year.. i'm like.. uberly honored. Motivates me to build more :)
