Domain expiration

The domain to this website will expire in March, if there is anyone interested in this domain remaining online, I'd like to see if an donation thingy can be arranged. The prices for renewal are as follows:
$29.99 for two years or, $34.99 for one year.

As for news and updates for this site. As soon as there'll be something to update with, an update will happen. If I can find some time, the gallery will be upgraded as well.

This post is also a news bit on the website.

Dutchfurs going down? O.o

Hazel-rah Nov 10, 2004 09:05 AM

I think he is talking about loricentral.com

That's too bad. :(

You could probably get good results using PayPal donations.

Fawriel Nov 10, 2004 11:16 AM

Why is 1 year costier than 2 years?

Violet CLM Nov 10, 2004 04:51 PM

I assume they just want people to stay around longer. Is there a cost to discontinue services before the time is up?

Monolith Nov 10, 2004 10:37 PM

If it's just the name you need to renew, I'd say go for a cheaper registrar.

Cheaper registrars aren't as secure as NetworkSolutions is. If I go to someone else, I'll risk a hijacking.

DoubleGJ Nov 11, 2004 05:17 AM

Not again...
And I'm still out of cash. :(

How aren't they as secure? You can lock domains at other registrars so that it can't get transfered without your permission.

DrJones Nov 12, 2004 08:22 AM

True, still...putting together $29 is doable if enough people want to donate, and the problem will be solved for two years.

If some might wonder why I still keep the site around...I'm still somewhat hoping for things to pick up someday. And to some, the site is a valuable piece of JJ2 community.

Nov 13, 2004 01:05 PM

Is it this time again? I don't want LC to go, it is part of the community...
I dont have a paypal account, and if i use any other means of transfer ill be paying more sending costs then a 2 years web domain :P... do you acceept Euro's? or only dollars?

PS: nice new forum header image, hadn't seen it yet..

Doubble Dutch Dec 21, 2004 03:09 AM

(-)! Now I wish I hadn't wasted mney on that life saving surgery for my grandmother!

Slaz Dec 24, 2004 10:44 PM

But it still doesn't matter me many that the domain is expiring, i only want that site alive!! :O

CrashMash Dec 25, 2004 05:38 AM

If i COULD i should do it, but soon i'm able i think.

Slaz Dec 25, 2004 09:33 AM

Now the site says "This site is moving to a faster server. Stay tuned!"

So i think it isn't death, pff.

DrJones Jan 9, 2005 04:23 PM

Don't worry everyone, the site is not dead. I'm just moving it to a faster server, this will take a few weeks more since I'm busy with my university related things.

And, as soon as I figure out how, I'll put up one of those donate things by paypal. Once enough money is accummualated, the domain will be paid and all will be good.

DrJones Feb 10, 2005 03:43 PM

The donation link is up now, Paypal only.

Just need $35 to keep the domain up for another year.

MegaJazz Mar 30, 2005 11:27 AM

I've seen your Lori Central website a long time ago, i like it, but sorry, i am not able to donate you some. I hope your site and domain can be succesfull continued and keep going on making good sites like that!

Apr 1, 2005 08:40 AM

Donate! Donate! Donate!

Everybody donate! you don't want to this site to leave its current domain? If you don't have paypal and live in Europe there are other possibility's for donating! most banks in Europe do free transactions within europe (ask bank first)
you could even put some money in an envelope and post it if you want, (not advised though)

Grytolle Apr 5, 2005 06:13 AM

I cant say I really care ...

DoubleGJ Apr 5, 2005 06:20 AM

I do care but I'm out of cash. Constantly. *puts a "will do stuff for food" label on his forehead*

DarkJazz23 Apr 18, 2005 10:32 PM

How can the prices for one year be higher then for two years?!

Doubble Dutch Apr 19, 2005 04:22 AM

Discount.

Marine1969 Apr 19, 2005 04:32 AM

It says "just $35 needed" but for only $20 you can get two years.

May 23, 2005 10:09 AM

I got a question..
how is it going with collecting the money?

Depends on which domain name provider it is. I went with one that is slightly more expensive, but offers more options.

Slaz Oct 7, 2005 09:09 AM

Hi DrJones! I want to ask: is Lori Central really going to return? like your site says.
