No, no, I won't believe this!

:( Why? Why do EpicMegaGames have to canncel JJ3 and ignore our e-mail messages, why can't they make JJ3, I really want to see that game! Please tell me if it won't come before I die, please don't tell me that! I hope that won't happens, what am I deposted to do? Well, I want JJ3, oh well! :(

Stijn Dec 2, 2004 03:30 AM

Because they became arrogant, sick of our e-mails our obsessed with Unreal?

DoubleGJ Dec 2, 2004 10:57 AM

Because money makes the world go round. And Unreal means hard cash.

White Rabbit Dec 2, 2004 01:38 PM

Not enough ppl bought JJ2 or JJ1 despite the great reviews both game received, so Epic's eye(s) are set on Unreal.

Violet CLM Dec 2, 2004 02:02 PM

This is not quite true. Several attempts have been made for a new Jazz game, and each time (AFAIK) Epic has cooperated. Its the other companies that get in the way.

i.e. the Publishers, especially (back then) G.O.D. games. JJ2 was the only game they lost money on, so they didn't want to publish JJ3 (chickens!). And P2 Interactive (European publisher) went backrupt.

OK, can someone give the link to the JJ3 FAQ (if it's still there) and close this already? Because this topic is useless now. :p

The team could not fund it, seperated and left a unfinished demo that has been leaked :P

Violet CLM Dec 2, 2004 03:09 PM

The JJ3 FAQ is currently dead.

I remember there being a Jazz Jackrabbit GBC game. AFAIK it had the Jazz not seen in JJA(i.e. Normal Jazz from JJ1,JJ2,and JJ3) But it was cancelled for some reason or another.

Odin Dec 2, 2004 07:59 PM

All we have to do is find a company that will publish JJ3, one with a big enough name. Take 2 (Not to be confused with Part 2) would be a good choice.

MaGoo Dec 2, 2004 08:23 PM

Even if a third Jazz Jackrabbit game were to come out on the market, I can guarantee that most of us would just get a cracked version of the game, play it, and then burn it into the ground.

Blaze The Movie Fan Dec 3, 2004 01:24 AM

I don't think they will do the same for JJ3 like they did ti JJ2, I think they will make the disc un-burnable and the CD is always requested, well, JJ2 didn't sold really much, because it isn't popular, you just have to install and let your friends do the same and done, you don't need the CD anymore!

Safe Disc 2 anti-piracy technology
Contained on a DVD disc
Use a method similar to Battle.net where a valid CD-Key is required to play online.

There are many ways to lock it down so the warez0rs won't have much fun with it.

merder Dec 4, 2004 02:17 AM

it's the same with a lot of companies they have a good sidescroller but later discover that they have more of a succes with a 3d game and then stop with the sidescroller(examples:id with commander keen becouse quake sold better and epicmegagames with jazz jackrabbit becouse unreal sold better.(i'm a fan of both tose sidescrollers))

DoubleGJ Dec 4, 2004 03:37 AM

Konami made a Contra game on PS2 lately. It's a 3D sidescroller, like Duke Nukem Manhattan Project. Epic could do at least something like that.

It's a shame Epic has totally abandoned everything but Unreal. Besides Jazz, Epic has a lot of franchises worthy of a sequel: Xargon and Tyrian, to name a couple.

Hazel-rah Dec 5, 2004 01:59 AM

rofl, Xargon.

That's funny. I played Xargon 1 & 2 a little, but I never opened Xargon 3 because I was disgusted with the first two. :P

DoubleGJ Dec 5, 2004 10:11 AM

++Tyrian

By the way, I just read that Epic is looking for a new publisher, because Atari is nearing to bankrupt.

GlydeBane Dec 5, 2004 12:42 PM

Mmm Xargon could use a sequel.
