JJA Soundtrack

Jazz Jackrabbit Advance TEH SOUNDTRACK!
Go and download the music of the game you either love ot hate.
I personally think the game has one of the best credits music in years.

Violet CLM Mar 7, 2005 09:34 PM

Nice find. I like how they have Hocus and Wacky Wheels as upcoming releases.

DoubleGJ Mar 8, 2005 07:17 AM

The credits music is indeed the best tune in JJA. It somehow reminds me of Cowboy Bebop music (maybe I'm biased).

Fawriel Mar 8, 2005 11:26 AM

Whey! Now I can even diss JJA for its music! \o/

What a great day! ;)

Tubz Mar 8, 2005 05:54 PM

Eh, I'll check it out. If It's bad, then I'll have an even better reason to flame the game.

A better reason than what? It's a fun game, and if you haven't heard the soundtrack, you obviously haven't even played it.

DoubleGJ Mar 9, 2005 03:48 AM

I have already recorded it on audio CD. Might even sometimes listen... Maybe the music is more repetitive and less constructive than in other JJ games, but it's more... hard. Further planets are the best example.

Fine, pfft. I'll go download the rom now and beat the game.

n00b Mar 9, 2005 01:57 PM

I personally liked the game 10x better on an actual gameboy.
And I still don't see why people complain about the speed.

Hybrid Mar 9, 2005 07:11 PM

thanks! very cool
a++

I actually like the Title Theme the best. It would be nice if we could have a .GSF of the soundtrack, but Jazz Jackrabbit Advance isn't compatible with Sap Tapper.

And your prayers have been answered! Released as of today is the GSF ripped version of the Jazz Jackrabbit Advance soundtrack. ;) And it's only 327kB total in size (zipped), instead of all those big MP3 files. :P
You can grab the GSF-files from the GSF Central page, along with a plugin for WinAmp and compatible players. For those on Linux systems, you can try Playgsf for playback.

Unfortunately at the moment the site is down as an April Fool's joke, so for the time being here's a direct link to the fileset: http://www.caitsith2.net/gsf/gsfs/jj.rar

Just a question.... would you also happen to know about an .rsn player for Linux?

EDIT: Holy! I thought I sent this as a PM! Darn, was I tired.

FoxBlitzz Apr 1, 2005 10:50 PM

Aahgfrgh, their servers are kinda slow right now. 4.4 kb/sec is a joke. I guess I'll just have to wait... zzz... wake me when it's done.

Edit: Hmm... not bad, but not great either. Maybe because of the GBA-quality sound. Maybe I picked a bad one. I'll try the credits one next... ho boy, more waiting... zzzz

MegaJazz Apr 1, 2005 11:29 PM

Nice find! Now i finally have the JazzGBA msucis on my PC. I don't think this music is very bad though, so go and listen to it! ;)

ThunderPX Apr 3, 2005 03:49 AM

Haha. My Tyrian rip owns theirs.

ShadowGPW Apr 4, 2005 05:38 AM

Guess the only way to find out is to ask the composer himself or Shin'en. :)

BossJazz Apr 17, 2005 08:24 PM

There is now a .GSF of the JJA soundtrack!

DoubleGJ Apr 18, 2005 06:44 AM

Haze already told that. No pie for you.
