Fancy Seeing your Art in the Jazz3D Game ?
 

Hey people,
For those who dont know im making a 3D version of our beloved game jj2.
It is going Very well so far and as such im looking into creating the menu system.
However i suck in the art department so...

This is a competition to create the title screen for the new Jazz Game

You can enter as many times as you like but there are a few rules.

* The entry has to follow the Jazz style, so please bear that in mind
* The entry has to be at least 1024x768 in size
* No stealing other members or companies material, your own work please folks !
* The picture can be made using 3D modelers if you wish, if it looks the best then it will win !
* It should preferably contain both Jazz and Spaz in the Pic
* Deadline is May 31st

Um i hadnt planned on putting her in as i know very little of her and it would mean another set of controls and modeling...however she did appear in the original so yeah why not !

A deadline would be appreciated, though.

I would like to say the Deadline is April 30th...if that is too soon then say now and ill extend it...if it seems reasonable ill set it in stone !

Hmm, that's enough time, I suppose. Unless you are asking for something SERIOUSLY awesome that would take a while to color..

What, you're not going to make it a 3D title scene?

I kinda expected a pesudo-Jazz3D style menu... which goes around with Jazz walking around the areas... and a banner on the side with Jazz/Spaz/Lori...

But, this way is much more similar to Jazz 2.

Im sorry im a little confused here...the pic i showed at the top is shown after the intro and before the menus...as i dont want to use that one again i made this competition so you guys could make a new one... so im not really sure what your asking

Oh, I see, you're trying to make it more Jazz 2 than anything I guess.

Well, I kinda expected for a more Jazz Jackrabbit 3(D) aproach to menus is what I'm saying. But, whatever fits your taste.

Ahhh i getya now...Yeah i was really sticking to the original menu style , but dont worry...ive got some little twists up my sleeves !

I don't think it is very fitting to give a 3d game a 2d title screen.

Maybe a loading splash screen though...

If you want the 3D title screen the make it...the reason i havnt is that i cant at the moment, as i cant model the characters and and trying hard to find people that will !

Odin wants you to do something with voxels, he asked me to post.

Yep. That means he got 44 FPS on the title screen. Come to think of it, how could your computer be so bad as to get 44 FPS at that screen? :rolleyes:

It was 44 and that was because as fraps changes from the intro framerate of a lower fps to the steady 60 it uses for the rest of the game i clicked the screenshot button.
So yes its FRAPS and no my computer is not crappy !

Well, crikey. I just remembered this again.
This contest needs more publicity. Not near enough entries so far..

I know, Id just feel like i was spamming if i kept at it .... I feel awkward pestering people for the models they are making me !

Ah come on, you're doing all the rest after all, and one entry so far and ( hopefully sooner than later ) to be joined by my entry... that's just not enough. Maybe you should ask some artists around places who know about JJ2 directly.

Ok what areas do you know that are interested in jazz...are there any secondary forums, fourms with similar platformer game interests ?... just point em out and ill give it a go !

Dunno, just ask on an art forum. I guess (hope) people will ask more about it then.

I'm interested. It would be better if I included Lori or not? 'Cause I don't know if you're actually planning on adding her... (personally I'd suggest yes - it's only the way she's played in TSF that people dislike her)

I hadnt planned on adding Lori for 2 main reasons
1) I have no-one to model here
2) I would have to write tonnes of extra code to get her in there...thus delaying the project, It maybe have to arive in a addon pack when i get back after my year away...unless some clever blighter codes her themselves !
