R3ptile Nov 3, 2005 08:19 AM

CrimiClown Nov 3, 2005 08:40 AM

They already tried with Jaleco... They failed horribly...

Birdie Nov 3, 2005 08:44 AM

i wonder who would want to buy it ;)

CrimiClown Nov 3, 2005 08:47 AM

Well, Jazz Jackrabbit Advance did sell very good the first few months. But, that stopped when everybody finished it and noticed it was crap...

Birdie Nov 3, 2005 09:01 AM

And after that eveyone either bought it used or got a rom.

Whats odd is everyone who I've shown the game to who ahve never heard of Jazz before thought it was a great game and would've bought it if they had heard of it earlier(JJA). Which shows what a better marketing plan could have done.

CrimiClown Nov 3, 2005 11:48 AM

Hmm... If you put it that way... Quite true, actually...

Doubble Dutch Nov 3, 2005 05:01 PM

Yeah, but they had never heard of JJ2.

Sciz CT Nov 3, 2005 07:45 PM

JJA was a decent game, just not a very good Jazz game.

Mostly the really popular games are first person shooters with bloodshed in it. Jazz Jackrabbit isn't like that and so it won't get that popular. And besides that, most popular games require a hefty PC and take loads of time to program. Companies won't invest in such a program if they aren't 100% sure that the game is going to be popular and get sold a lot. So I don't think that it will be continued...

*Points to the popularity of platformer console games*
Cliffy said a new Jazz would more than likely be on the consoles first. The deveolpers would have nothing to worry about.

Xobim Nov 10, 2005 08:57 AM

I hope he's right...
