It's Devan, by the way.

Nice sketchy-doodle things.

Fawriel Jan 21, 2006 01:50 AM

Hah. Those are actually really cool. Especially the one of Devan. The Jazz one looks a little much like a little plushy thing, but you have a really cool style. And having style in the first place is already pretty rare. ^^

LittleFreak Jan 21, 2006 01:53 AM

I like those too. Nice work.

What was that about, UF?

Sonyk Jan 21, 2006 06:36 AM

He originally posted this in the general jazz talk forum.

CrimiClown Jan 21, 2006 08:40 AM

Wow! That Devan is really cool! Jazz is a bit... Well, cuddly... :p

n00b Jan 21, 2006 10:55 AM

Man, I really want to see your work animated, it has that feel that screams "Wtach me Move!". Nice stuff.
By the way, have you considered signing up at Devart? People there will love your work as well.

Black Ninja Jan 21, 2006 11:59 AM

Wow, that's some pretty awesome artwork. I actually like the Jazz one best. It's so..rux? Yeah, rux.

Keep up the rux.

Yea um... Thank you. EVERYONE tells me that I should be an animator... I can't animate though. I don't know the basics or even where to start.

And I already am on Deviant Art. I am not saying who I am though, because I came here to post some Jazz sketches, not to promote myself and get more pageviews. (And no I am not Tweeter on DA...)

Aegis: THANK YOU... like I wasn't publicly humiliated on my first post to begin with. I can tell that this is going to be a... different forum to say the least...

(By the way Black Ninja... what is "Rux"?)

The opposite of 'sux' or 'sucks'. So it's good. :)

LittleFreak Jan 22, 2006 04:56 AM

rux=rocks as in "This rocks!".

Tweeter Jan 22, 2006 08:14 AM

So... if that is true... You replace the 'o' with a 'u', and the 'cks' with an 'x'.

"You rux my sux" translates into : "You rocks my socks." No?

This almost doesn't seem to work because by changing 'socks' you are, in a sense, changing the intended meaning of the word. Instead of sounding like "You rocks my socks" it now sounds like "You rocks my sucks." Which... doesn't make any sense AND gives it a negative feel instead of a positive one. So if 'sux' means sucks than what happened to the O --> U replacement? Wouldn't it go backwards and make it 'sox' which, once again, changes the word.

Does this apply to other, non-descriptive words? For example can you make such words as 'chicks' into 'chix'. Or how about the word 'room'? 'Ruum' just sounds like a drunk pirate. Or do you need the O+CKS combination for this to work?

I am not used to this kind of "Internet slang". Sorry for going off topic but I really don't know about this stuff.

Also... am I reading into this too far?

Risp_old Jan 22, 2006 08:25 AM

Internet slang doesn't follow clearly defined rules.

I like you already.

Also, as for animation, could I suggest playing around with a trial version of Marcromedia Flash? It's mainly for object-based animation, but with a tablet you can use it almost like a digital light table. If you have an interest in learning animation theory, you should find a copy of The Animator's Survival Kit.

By the way, hi! I'm Radium and I'm the local critic.

LittleFreak Jan 22, 2006 09:32 AM

ICQ would be good.

However, you don't need to waste your time chatting with me if you don't want to. =b

You seem like an interesting person though, so I'd like to chat. ^.^

Erik Jan 22, 2006 09:32 AM

And also the host for cool stuff, like ToU!

Radium i mean. (-) LF!

But um... I mean I didn't even talk to you yet! How do you know I am not taken already? (Well I guess the fact that I am posting HERE proves that I am not taken... >.>) Taking the Criminal Clown at face value, which is somewhat difficult to do... seeing as he is a clown, I am lead to believe that I am probably the only female on here...
(Finally an untouched playground full of innocent children that will bend to my will because I simply have breasts! A wicked woman's dream come true. Except I am not wicked... but just a little demented... in the head. But are they not the same?)

Radium : lol

Thanks! I might look into that later then. I have a tablet but usually don't use it. Regular old pencil is the best! :D What really grinds my gears about Flash is it's non-standard user interface. Oh well I guess I should get used to it sooner or later... Now to find a copy of "The Animator's Survival Kit"...

According to the gender poll, you are one of TWO females here (three if you could Freelance, who voted wrong). According to what I know, you are one of maybe 10 or so females here who post at all.

Oooh, be careful.

Hey, what happened to talking about the pictures, people? ;)

n0 Jan 22, 2006 10:23 PM

Whatup tweeter. Love your art. I'd like to see what coloring it does.

Anyways, I'm the resident nobody. Pay no attention to me, for I do not exist.

Now, as in females at this fourm...

Hrm... a lot more use to be active...

Shorty and DoubleD and Poisen Ive (active but a stalker)... is that it? I can't think of anyone else... I see Fox at my school a lot, but she's not active here anymore...

What happened to Gummi and Wildey and Skulg and Phoenx Wing?

Girls have always been outnumbered, but it used to be a more healthy ratio.

Doubble Dutch Jan 23, 2006 12:24 AM

Well, y'see the girls only came here because of Lori, and now that her website is down, they've just drifted away.

Nicknames are just a feature. I'm Frost, probably the most balanced guy around. ;)

Replace the maybe with a "for sure" and I'll agree with you. And after that it'd be nice if you could tell me why everything I type is suddenly striked argh.

`*edit*

Added you on ICQ, Tweet. And yes, I'll do everything you want me to just for the fact you have breasts. \o/

Came for Lori? What, did they think she was hot or something? I am telling you I am here because 1.) I like Jazz Jackrabbit. And 2.) I just found a new forum I can terrorize. }>

Hmmm... I figure that is the same way I am not a bird like creature that makes high pitched noises. And nice to meet you Mr.Frost! (By the way, is your first name Jack?) Yea... I was just messing around a bit there. I do that a lot. Maybe even too much. That whole post was sarcastic. I think this is one of the forums where I won't have to denote my sarcasm with [SARCASM] ... [/SARCASM]. Pretty much, if it sounds too weird, I am making it up on the spot.

I asked that.

But yea I drew some more. I can draw the style of the games too by the way. I actually like the way the characters look in Jazz 1 over Jazz 2. More... cute. :) It's just that I can't find any good pictures on google images to draw off of. :/
Well I will color these and upload them sometime. Maybe later today?

Frost de Vries. Frost is my first name. I'm a hippie, after all, just like my parents. They thought of a cool name for me. })

LittleFreak Jan 23, 2006 08:01 AM

Why weren't my parents hippies? D=

There are many sarcasm fans on this forum, so you might have found the perfect place. =D

I'd totally pwn you in a sarcasm match.

I don't see whats so different about how the characters look in JJ1 compared to JJ2, except for Jazz's legs(and quite possibly, height, and Eva has different clothing. In one of the comic panels from JJ1's manual, you only see Jazz from the waist up, and you really can't tell much of a difference.

LittleFreak Jan 23, 2006 11:44 AM

If I remember correctly, Jazz was... a lot fatter in JJ1. =D
