List Server Problem

I don't know what happened but i played fine before it did..
and now jazz is "Retrieving Server lists" and doesn't find anything.. I tried re-reg the list servers but it didn't work.. Also JazzForce and JazzTool is unable to find any servers..

Change the registry to connect to jazzlist.madskills.org.

Zinser Feb 20, 2006 08:33 AM

Registry, connect.. Where, how, when, apple or orange?

cooba Feb 20, 2006 08:54 AM

1. Start up the Registry Editor (Run command in the Start Menu) by typing in regedit.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Epic Megagames -> (all of your JJ2 versions).
3. Go to your desired JJ2 version(s), and change the jazz.nimrod-online.com into jazzlist.madskills.org.

Or maybe the server was just plain down as part of ThaSpaz' "plan to bring JJ2 online down" It's fine now.

Yeah it's a good choice to use a really unstable and unmaintained serverlist rather than a well working and maintained one ;).

Birdie Feb 21, 2006 04:11 PM

;o You got that one up UF? :p

Zinser Feb 21, 2006 11:13 PM

It was just my connection.. :|

Probably not, according to Nimrod, the server got caught up in a CPU loop and was just down for a while on mechanical error. Not that it's anything to worry about.

NovaStar Feb 22, 2006 04:43 PM

Well, that's lucky.

Well thats mostly true. The List Server (coded by Epic) got caught on a Net Handle error which generates 100% CPU usage, after a couple of minutes it usually gets itself out of that, but for some reason it didnt. After a couple of hours it got itself out of the loop. Hopefully now with access to the source code to one of the list server applications we can work to ensure a stable application for the List Server.
Anyways, hope this answers your problem with accessing the list.

This is your brain on Epic listservers.

NovaStar Feb 22, 2006 07:51 PM

Stop it Unknown. You get an explaination, dirty it and shove it back in one's mouth. I have no other way of saying this unfortunately.

Vegito Feb 23, 2006 10:57 AM

NovaStar Feb 24, 2006 03:10 PM

Well, there goes the 'consistentsy' thing.

Birdie Feb 26, 2006 03:21 PM

Sucer Feb 27, 2006 10:21 AM
