J2MC Season 2 Details

* Because of lack of motivation, I decided to cancel the loser bracket. The grand-final between LB and BFRE will be played next weekend.

However, I have some news related the next edition of J2MC. It'll be a dueling tournament which will use completely new three-five levels that were especially designed for competitive playing. A contest might be held as well. As it seems now, the tournament will begin in July.

Stay tuned ;)

Grytolle May 22, 2006 09:32 AM

Meh, the good thing about J2MC was that it was a 2on2 tournament

cooba May 22, 2006 09:34 AM

Sounds great. Now I we have enough time to bring JJ2WC3 back.

Agreed.

R3ptile May 22, 2006 09:52 AM

if it was so good why were they so many unmotivated players, tons of forfeit losses, etc?

n00b May 22, 2006 09:55 AM

I blame the poor lineup that seemed stacked against lots of people.
I mean, you should've known it'd be near impossible to get two europeans, one australian, and one american to be on for a duel at the same time.

In fact the only bad part was the poor organizing, which lead to unmotivated players, and forfeits.

R3ptile May 22, 2006 10:13 AM

that wasn't the real problem, there were only three non-european competitors.

n00b May 22, 2006 10:20 AM

Well it was my problem, so I really can't much for the other players.

Sucer May 22, 2006 10:35 AM

Bah, Those epic guys should start organizing tourneys, perhaps make a golden edition of jazz jackrabbit and sell it in shops, to get more people playing it!

R3ptile May 22, 2006 11:24 AM

yes and they should pay 1,000,000$ to the winner (me)

I can imagine how much hacking would be involved if such a tourny with such a prize existed.

R3ptile May 22, 2006 12:14 PM

no because it would be on LAN

If the prize was that kind of money I would still try to hack :(

You two are funny men.

I don't believe Epic came even close to making 1,000,000$ off JJ2, so it doesn't seem so likely that they'll feel like making a tournament with any prizes at all. Besides, they'd claim that people don't finish their matches, and they'd probably be right, since every time someone here tries to organize a tournament, some people who have to leave in the middle of it because of holidays keep signing up (for the record, I'm not referring to anyone in particular, I just noticed that kind of thing seems to happen a lot). That, and people seem to be blissfully unaware of the existance of e-mail, and claim that they can only play if all four players randomly get online on an instant message client at the same moment.

R3ptile May 22, 2006 12:19 PM

..it was sarcasm :p

i have to act like Jerry now, and tell people to BACK ON TOPIC!!!!!!!

Enigma May 22, 2006 12:20 PM

Maybe so, but one can hardly pass up any possible opportunities to crush other peoples dreams.

On topic: nice idea and good luck. I'm not signing up though, since I'm not quite sure if I'll have enough time to join in.

n00b May 22, 2006 12:21 PM

When I receive an email, the time suggested could have already passed. It's more annoying than phone tag.

Grytolle May 22, 2006 01:16 PM

The problem was that too many teams were in. When there are demands like "I WONT START TOURNEY IF NOT THIS MANY CLANS SIGN UP" unmotivated/bad clans/teams will sign up.

Sasik May 22, 2006 01:41 PM

I think that a 2v2's LADDER would be much easier to organize. However, I am not sure if a ladder could be more interesting than a double elimination system ;P In fact, I doubt it could :D

What a pity that JJ2 doesn't have a ClanBase ladder...=P

Nielsje May 22, 2006 11:57 PM

So... J2MC is also turning into a Duellist Tournament? I think it would be wiser to join forces and merge J2MC and JJ2WC into one tournament, in that case. Having two seperate tournaments like this will only cause more problems.

R3ptile May 23, 2006 02:39 AM

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Masters' Championships...?

Grytolle May 23, 2006 04:09 AM

Or!!!! You keep J2MC as a 2v2 tournament.

Sasik May 23, 2006 04:37 AM

Or!!!!!1111! Make 4 tournaments!!!
1) Jazz Jackrabbit 2 World Championship 1on1 CTF
2) Jazz Jackrabbit 2 World Championship 2on2 CTF
3) Jazz Jackrabbit 2 World Championship 3on3 CTF
and...
4) Jazz Jackrabbit 2 World Championship 4on4 CTF!
etc.

ok i suck :(

R3ptile May 23, 2006 04:41 AM

5) Jazz Jackrabbit 2 World Championship 8on8 JDC!

maverick May 23, 2006 07:51 AM

JJ2WC Treasure Plz

Yasco May 23, 2006 10:14 AM

Yes , Treasure Pleasure for all!

R3ptile May 24, 2006 01:17 AM

The level contest has begun!

Sucer May 24, 2006 12:27 PM

What about a server with the biggest amount of players? (13vs13)
Perhaps make a clanbased 13vs13 which would be 8D, VS, FoR vs. CC, DM, RR

Dream on ;)
Would be awesome though.

Sasik May 24, 2006 02:03 PM

That's really good idea, I would certainly take part in such game ;D

NovaStar May 26, 2006 02:09 AM

That reminds me, I thought of a Treasure tournament a while back too.
Then I thought of Jazz Ultima. It involves Battle, CTF, Treasure Hunt, Race, Tests and Team Battle. =D

lagless host pl0x ;P

Raven aka StL May 26, 2006 03:14 AM

Biggest amount would be 16v16...
...and great idea, except I've tried that a long time ago and it became the (second) 8v8 in the end...

EDIT: and u know NOTHING about lag, if u haven't played one game as such :p
I had 2 reboot and restart twice... ;]

Vegito May 26, 2006 04:08 AM

gosh, it was sarcasm..

Raven aka StL May 26, 2006 09:21 AM

rotfl, I know, I know... whatevarr...
8v8 owns btw :p

NovaStar May 27, 2006 04:25 AM

Shut up!

Oh, and I'm rather disapointed with TBBR. Can you tell me the real reason for cancelling the loser's bracket instead of giving out lame excuses?

R3ptile May 27, 2006 04:48 AM

You are very rude and ask stupid questions. All answers can be either found in this thread or the other one.

n00b May 27, 2006 05:59 AM

Wasn't the Loser's Bracket the most unused thing in the previous tournament?
