Duellist Invitational Tournament

Hello,

Please sign up for my tournament here. There are 6 spots left, so please hurry up. You can find the participating players, a mappool (which isn't binding) and the rules there.

I will announce the groups as soon as I have enough players (which is hopefully tomorrow). The tournament won't use really strict deadlines, but just finish your matches as soon as possible.

Check the site for more information.

Grytolle Jan 30, 2007 11:48 AM

Ok so give us the link plz

Sasik Jan 30, 2007 11:50 AM

Hint to Johan: look at Qz's signature. :)

PurpleJazz Jan 30, 2007 12:06 PM

I would sign up for this, but since I time out to often every match I played would count as a forfeit. :(

EDIT - Maybe I'll give it a go anyway.

snzspeed Jan 30, 2007 12:11 PM

Please sign me up, i want to try out this

Quickz Jan 30, 2007 01:01 PM

Okay, sign ups are closed, sorry. Check the site for groups.

From the rules page: "Players are not allowed to use any cheat tools, or other kinds of software which gives them a slight advantage over the opponent."

Just to make sure I don't do anything stupid during the tournament: is seekhole a software which gives a slight advantage, or is it a bug fix everyone is supposed to have by now?

[GpW]Urbs Jan 30, 2007 01:06 PM

im in. yay.
and for the record quickz, ur anoying

Quickz Jan 30, 2007 01:14 PM

Thank you, Urbs!

And it's a bug fix, Enigma. But doesn't Carrotade fixes seekholes anyway?

Vegito Jan 30, 2007 01:58 PM

Only client side. (So that means only for the host.)

And eh..
I am looking forward to duel:

Group 1: Mati, RiCCardo, Squirrel, Urbs, Vegito.. 8D

So lets hurry up!
I will lose the finals of the other cup tomorrow so I can duel like next weekend! :P

Quickz Jan 30, 2007 02:09 PM

Actually, there are still four spots left..

ChaosLord, Dejman, Master Sven and Saphir didn't confirm yet (though I think they will participate), so any other player who still wants to participate can take their spot.

Edit: Both Master Sven and Dejman confirmed, Novastar replaced Saphir.. 1 last spot left!

Sasik Jan 30, 2007 03:12 PM

I know it's probably offtopic but....I see that there are 3 players from UK, what about to sign up UK for National Tourney? =P
Rag? ;P

btw. I'm at home for a few next days (semestral break at University), so I'd like to play my matches asap. Just contact me, pwn me fast and be happy. kk.

NovaStar Jan 30, 2007 04:50 PM

Count me in.

I was in fact thinking the same. Please do.

Superjazz Jan 31, 2007 05:28 AM

Impressive that we got even 40 people up for a single tournament. But the popularity of duellist-tournaments was already noticed, once the JJ2WC-signups were done in 1 and ½ hours, so that isn't much a surprise.

The groups look balanced(I'm at least glad about mine), and the mappool seems fine, although it's only "suggesting" this time.

[GpW]Urbs Jan 31, 2007 06:01 AM

you're lucky u dont have me in your group, i'd have whooped you sj:)

You're going to count an austrialian in, who even confirmed she doesn't have a computer FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 10 DAYS?
The timezone already is +11 GMT and even no pc. Its gonna be hard to duel her.

Yes, I give her a chance. If it turns out wrong, I can still replace her (since she won't have any matches played in that case, see the rules).

About the timezone. Yes, you're right. As the rules say, she should arrange her matches herself. If she won't be able to do that, she will be replaced.

Anyway, I think this could work.

Birdie Jan 31, 2007 07:03 AM

Can I suggest Ice cream island for the mappool? ;)

R3ptile Jan 31, 2007 07:28 AM

R3p vs. BLasteR

Jungle's Edge 10-7
Diamondus Warzone 10-1

R3ptile Jan 31, 2007 11:00 AM

R3p vs. Sacrush

Security Breach v2 10-1
BloodBunny's Lair 10-0

[GpW]Urbs Jan 31, 2007 11:12 AM

dang, sacrush lost, ohh well, c'est la vie

R3ptile Jan 31, 2007 11:26 AM

well the first round in sb2 was a lot more tough than result might make it look like

Sacrush Jan 31, 2007 12:13 PM

I made too many mistakes and I just suck in BBlair. :( Still GG though.

Quickz Jan 31, 2007 02:31 PM

Rounds are till 5 points !!!
Btw, the score limit is in the rules now too.

Well, I will add these edited scores @ the tournament page, but play till 5 now, please.

R3ptile Feb 1, 2007 04:32 AM

..sux. why does it matter to you? can't you just let us play to 10 if both players agree?

Oh yes! That level owns...

Alas, it's a lot better with more players. ;)

Quickz Feb 1, 2007 05:09 AM

People don't seem to have enough time for that. So just always play till 5, even if both players agree on 10.

huh this doesn't make sense, if both players agree to go to 10 it means they have enough time

Grytolle Feb 1, 2007 05:38 AM

It does make sense however, as in all matches should be played the same way

R3ptile Feb 1, 2007 05:44 AM

played the same way except to 10 points instead of 5

besides, two matches were already played to 10, it would be dumb to suddenly change that rule after the tourney has begun.

No, actually, I told you the whole tournament would use the system as in JJ2WC3 Duellist Cup. You played till 5 there too. As Gry said, it would be weird to use different rules in one tournament. And I can't change the fact that you played two times till 10 already, but please play till 5 now.

Enigma Feb 1, 2007 07:03 AM

*does a little cheerleader dance*

Group two! Group two! Group two for the win!

(ok, so I probably shouldn't be cheering for the people who are my opponents, but it's all about the positive attitude)

master sven Feb 2, 2007 05:56 AM

MS-Slayer

LVL1: Medieval Skyscrapers
Host: Dejman
Score: 5-3 for MS

LVL2: Galactic Warfare
Host: Dejman
Score: 5-2 for Slayer

LVL3: Distopia
Host Dejman
Score: 5-2 for Slayer

Is there going to be a tourney for 2v2?

R3ptile Feb 2, 2007 07:19 AM

apperently mave never wants to duel even though he always has time to play so just give me a forfeit win and mave, don't sign up to tourneys if you don't wanna play, i hate wasting my time over crap like this.

Grytolle Feb 2, 2007 07:27 AM

Lies. He just said he didn't wanna play before his exams later tonight. Scared to actually play the game? ;p

R3ptile Feb 2, 2007 07:31 AM

the log i showed to qz proves something else. don't protect him just because he's your friend\in your clan\whatever. it also proves clearly that if anyone is scared, it's him. besides, i'm quite positive mave could've talked for himself.

and i get a forfeit win after all.
