Beta help

Hi. I was just wondering weather beta version 1.10g is free to download since it's the oldest version or if I have to buy it. If it's free can somebody plz give me a link. Thanks!:r

cooba Jun 7, 2007 06:55 AM

There's no 1.10g. There's a 1.00g, and 1.10o.

And no, they're not free to download.

n00b Jun 7, 2007 07:00 AM

The only thing they cost to download is your moral obligations! Are willing to brutally hurt your conscience?

sonicnathan 1 Jun 7, 2007 07:04 AM

Um. In English?

n00b Jun 7, 2007 07:08 AM

Que? No habla ingles, tu bibliotecha de muerte!! ;(

Violet CLM Jun 7, 2007 11:11 AM

What n00b said is that they're free to download, if you can find them, aside from the detail of it being totally illegal to do so. However! You might be able to find one on ebay, as I've seen 1.00h there a couple times.

Dermo Jun 7, 2007 01:26 PM

you can download 1.00g and 1.10h if you bought a copy of 1.21 i believe. It's kind of like a Sega emulator type thing. You can download the ROMs only if you own the respective cartridges, otherwise you have 48 hours to delete them off of your PC.

Jerrythabest Jun 7, 2007 02:01 PM

>O lol it's
1.00g 1.00h 1.10o

Sigh.

As for downloading and buying: all JJ2 versions are not legally available for download. 1.00g and 1.00h are sometimes offered on ebay though. 1.10o is extremely rare and you'll only get it if you find a person who has it and wants to send it (is still illegal afaik). 1.20-1.23 are available in *some* shops and possibly on ebay.

n00b Jun 7, 2007 02:02 PM

No you can only download 1.21 because you have the license, but that license only allows one install per computer. So if you lost the disc and never installed it, then it's ok but only if it's 1.21

sonicnathan 1 Jun 7, 2007 02:10 PM

Woops. I already downloaded it. Mainly I just wanted to see if I could get LEV files to open up in JCS by renaming the exstention. Didn't work. Is there no way to open LEV files? It's weird going to the end of Medivo and there's no boss. I'll probubly end up deleting it soon.
PS: I own 1.21

Myths.

Dermo Jun 7, 2007 02:48 PM

Glad to hear it and Unknown you CAN download sega roms if you own the cartridges.

In Fact here's evidence:

DISCLAIMER:
You may only download these genesis ROMS if you own the respective official cartridges. You may only download these genesis ROMS if you own the respective official cartridges.
If you don't, you must delete them in 48 hours (or less).

EDIT: I can't give the website that i obtained that from out because of "Warez" but there you have it.

n00b Jun 7, 2007 02:50 PM

OMG IF IT'S ON THE ENTERNETS IT HAS TO BE TRUU!

It's a myth dude, you can't legally own roms with the exception for backup purposes, and even then you have to make the backups yourself.

And there is no 48 trial period, that is also bullspit.

Dermo Jun 7, 2007 03:00 PM

There is with the MP3's with that weird protection on them. You have like 30 days to preview them and then you need to pay for them. It's with the Microsoft Zune.

Jerrythabest Jun 7, 2007 11:31 PM

What does all this stuff has to do with JJ2 OEM versions?

And you CAN open .lev files with a program called MLLE (Multi Layer Level Editor) but no-one knows if there is still anyone who has it. At least, in the whole community no-one has MLLE.

That's a different matter entirely. With the MP3's, you're explicitly given permission by the copyright holder to preview them for 30 days. It's a bit like old shareware programs.

With non-free ROMs of any kind, you've not been given that permission.

sonicnathan 1 Jun 8, 2007 10:45 AM

I would be a great help if somebody could find a version of MLLE on the internet. (Unless it's iligal) If somebody knows a link to a site wear I can download it thanks!

n00b Jun 8, 2007 10:52 AM

MLLE was never publicly released. Good friggin' luck finding it

sonicnathan 1 Jun 8, 2007 11:33 AM

haha. IT would be so cool if somebody could get a copy. Epic Games probubly has the only copy of it but those guys are so you might as well be talking to Gorge Bush. Lol

...no.

sonicnathan 1 Jun 8, 2007 12:41 PM

The point is they would never give it to use. (Even if we payed them 10000 dallors)

Seeing as it probably doesn't exist anymore, you're right

sonicnathan 1 Jun 8, 2007 06:50 PM

It may still exist. Only a handful of people may have it. The only people to probubly have the thing are the original Jazz Jackrabbit 2 designers and programmers.

Jerrythabest Jun 9, 2007 01:10 AM

I saw a screenshot once.. does anyone still have a screenshot somewhere? I wanna put it on my desktop so that I can cry to it when I'm sad

What I'm trying to say is, STOP assuming Epic are greedy (-)s who don't want to give out anything.

Birdie Jun 9, 2007 01:24 PM

Just take a few seconds looking at your friend, the ERE!

sonicnathan 1 Jun 9, 2007 01:25 PM

I know.

I'm not saying to do it but has anybody ever ask epic if they had a copy of the MLLE?

I'm genuinely curious- why because of that screenshot? It just looks like an inferior JCS.

Birdie Jun 9, 2007 02:54 PM

It IS an inferior JCS.

n00b Jun 9, 2007 03:05 PM

I don't even know why you would want it aside from editing .levs, the JCS' final interface is so much easier to use than MLLE looks to be.

sonicnathan 1 Jun 9, 2007 03:22 PM

Ya but I want to see if there's any special events (like tweedle working) in the beta version.

n00b Jun 9, 2007 03:29 PM

If Tweedle worked in a Beta, why would he not work in the final version?
The reason why Bolly doesn't work in Beta versions is because they did not program him yet due to more time spent on multiplayer coding.

sonicnathan 1 Jun 9, 2007 06:36 PM

Good point. I think that tweedle was never meant to be in the game because in 1.00g all of tweedles animations but hes not in the game.

Dermo Jun 9, 2007 07:38 PM

Wow

Coo Coo! Coo Coo!

Only joking. I want it to. Mabey enemies liek the butterfly are in the beta versions but they are fully scripted, but they may still work.
If you want to ask epic for it be my guest.
