Tilesets?

Hello. Were can I get a convertion of Jazz 1 Dekstar? (I think that's how you spell it.) I can't find one on J2O. The only on I could find was one called mayhem which isn;t properly converted. Any help?

The list of JJ1 conversions says no, and I agree, having never seen one aside from Mayhem. I have an old in-progress Deckstar conversion somewhere, but I don't anticipate finishing it too soon, Crysilis being a higher priority.

Ok that's it. I'll reward the first person who can eather find a convertion of it on the web or if they make one themselfs!!!!!!! The reward I'll give you the story line and a demo of my upcoming pack!!!! That's all I have!

Personally I would use Palette Suite to make eight (or however many) "minipalettes" and save each individual palette (.pal) file. In other words, I would edit the palette (such as seen in the second picture in the article) so the colors used for the animation get shifted similar to how the article describes. Then, with PSP (I use v7), I would load each palette file--with the Maintain indexes option selected--onto an image with the original palette. And this would be done to make seven seperate images in addition to the unedited original image. With some special palette work, you won't even have to remake the eight palette files for different animations.

This can also be done using TilesetPal instead, but I find PSP to be more straightforward. I think this method is faster than the one in the article, especially if you get the hang of rotating colors around in Palette Suite by doing two consecutive reverses of the color order (one with 8 colors selected, and the other with 7).

Cool artical but I've read lots on tileset making and from what I've read this is just to complicated for me. I have a hard enough time making appreciated levels!

I have one conversion but is uncompiled - otherwise it is finished.
It has a mask and animations, but due to the fact it was made in MS Paint has no palette. Therefore cannot be compiled :(

MSPaint has no palette?

Correction. MSPaint has got a default pallete and you can compile .bmp files from it easily. You propably tried to compile a 24-bit .bmp, you need a 256 colours .bmp . If you won't use the Remap Tileset Pallete checkbox the pallete will be messed up.

It works, but...

Thanks!

Now, the only problem is that when compiled, the mask appears black (like automask) althrough I did specify a mask image.

Help?

sonicnathan 1 Jul 5, 2007 01:49 PM

I have no clue. BUT YOU HAVE A WORKING COVERTION OF DESKSTAR!?!?!?!?!!? THANK YOU! THANK YOU! (Now if only we knew what the problem is.)

HorvatM Jul 6, 2007 08:31 AM

SonicNathan, I can just send you the J2T file and you'll see what the problem is.
Or maybe even the source files.

sonicnathan 1 Jul 6, 2007 09:49 AM

Ok. Send me the tileset and the mask and I'll compile it. MY E mail is sonic-nathan@hotmail.com

HorvatM Jul 7, 2007 06:04 AM

Okay SonicNathan, the email has been sent. All instructions are contained in it.

sonicnathan 1 Jul 7, 2007 09:35 AM

Violet CLM Jul 10, 2007 09:24 PM

It depends on what you mean by "complete it." o.O

sonicnathan 1 Jul 13, 2007 01:40 PM

Unknown can you provide a picture of the Jazz 2 destruct blocks and a sky? Thanks. I'm almost done my coversion. Do you think you can edit the pallet? As when you load level with the tileset the colors of jazz and his weapons turn a wierd color.

Valco Jul 28, 2007 07:54 AM

Maybe you should just put everything you want in your first post.

sonicnathan 1 Jul 29, 2007 06:39 AM
