So? Winamp and Windows Media Player support WMA by default... and if I'm not mistaking, iTunes does too.

Erik Jul 5, 2007 07:34 AM

nevermind mplayer supported WMA

FreeFull Jul 5, 2007 10:08 AM

The point is that you need codecs on linux for it to support WMA.

Oh, I wasn't aware. Ehm... How can I convert Audio CD tracks into .mp3 files?

FreeFull Jul 5, 2007 10:17 AM

It is possible to do in Nero and I think it is possible in Windows Media Player

Erik Jul 5, 2007 11:15 AM

It is possible in like anything

Just load the CD to winamp, choose "WAV Writer" from Device options, and play

Then, when it's WAV, use LAME to convert it to mp3

Doubble Dutch Jul 6, 2007 07:29 AM

All this conversion lowers quality, isn't there something that can convert directly? If not, there should be, now, concentrate on the music, not the extension!

Dermo Jul 6, 2007 12:31 PM

Like Double Dutch said, do a direct conversion.

Erik Jul 7, 2007 01:43 AM

Not really it doesn't

ThunderPX Jul 7, 2007 02:43 AM

EAC can do it if you configure it correctly (but I forgot how)

Strato Jul 7, 2007 08:38 AM

Conversions only lower quality if you're converting between lossless formats like mp3's. So if you do that, you need to at least convert between them at low compression rates.

Black Viper Jul 7, 2007 08:40 AM

Pretty sweet cover job, this is a hard song to do right, you should be proud. Nice work.

You meant lossy, if it would be lossless the quality wouldn't go down.

AGENTS ARE... GO!

You are the growly one, right? I'm pretty sure you are.
Very nice job. *nods*

Thanks. We had to practice a lot... and I mean, like, weeks on one song... but thank you. We are kind of proud ourselves. Never been to a studio before.
