2on2IT Results/comments

A new thread for the results, since the tournament started today. Don't post stuff about the levels, the brackets etc, you can do that in the other thread.

(Thanks Stijn for changing the title ;D )

R3ptile Jan 25, 2008 05:49 AM

uhhh no matches were played yet?

Unhit Jan 25, 2008 06:06 AM

lol, seems not :P FS and i did some warmup games yesterday though, so we might do the first "serious" games soon :P

Nonomu198 Jan 25, 2008 07:34 AM

Maybe there should be official warm up fights (you know like a round in wich you must train and play aginst teams and stuff and not get kicked you of the tournery for losing ect.)? I guess it will make traning much easier, at least for me.

Grytolle Jan 25, 2008 08:21 AM

No. So many games to play anyway

Unhit Jan 25, 2008 08:23 AM

yeah indeed, i don't see a reason in a warmup round. you can just play warmup games like that, it's no problem

Quickz Jan 26, 2008 03:53 PM

Wow, I'm so happy with the fact that two matches have been finished this fast *edits his signature* .. Anyway, it would be great if you can mention the host in future posts as well, thanks.

I will add some pages for results and standings later on the site. Home again sunday, so maybe then.

Vegito Jan 26, 2008 03:57 PM

Chiyu hosted both of our matches.

I hosted round 1 from Sgds Vs. CFC. Hitch the last 2 rounds.

Okay, there were three rounds played here. Unfortunately, only 2 should have been played. That means we'll forget Round 3 and the final score will be 5-5.

So, to be clear, Scores will be combined, which will lead to a final result: a win, a loss or a draw.

We finished the match vs Sdgs

Superjazz Jan 30, 2008 07:34 AM

Sdgs vs WCB

Round 1

Sdgs [1:5] WCB (Jungle's Edge of Sdgs)

Round 2

Sdgs [5:4] WCB (BloodBunny's Lair of WCB)

Overall

Sdgs [6:9] WCB

Round 1 was played on Monday 28th January. It was hosted by DS. The game was annoyingly lagged, but we still won with clear result.

Round 2 was just finished, and it was hosted by Lejdi. Hoping that Lejdi somehow wouldn't lag as much as DS at least, and that the map was picked by us, I expected a good result from this game. However, Lejdi lagged way more horribly than DS, making it almost unplayable. While we kept dying nearly always with 3 health, I often didn't even see my death. Meaning I could have as well abused the lag, and recapture immediately if I happened to die with the flag(j/k.)

A good, classic game(not counting lags.) Awaiting verifications.

verified ;P and yea the last round was kinda laggy for us all. ;X

Sasik Jan 30, 2008 09:34 AM

Imo, it would be much better to count the final result of match by rounds, not by scores. However, that's just my feeling.

Anyway, Quickz, you could make more clearly rules how teams qualify to the next stage, because as we see, there might be many draws. ;P

Hmm... Maybe I should post this in the other thread. eh.

Quickz Jan 30, 2008 10:08 AM

Edit:

Bah, taking things in consideration..

Vegito Jan 30, 2008 11:11 AM

4 teams in 1 poule, and only the first continues.
I seriously don't see why you just can't do 1 round with the first 2 qualifying of each poule. ;[
I don't see the use of 2 entire different rounds.

Raven aka StL Jan 30, 2008 01:28 PM

As there are 5 groups of teams, the thought about only one team advancing from each gives me the chills. That'd (imo, of course) make hardly any sense at all.

Unhit Jan 30, 2008 01:52 PM

I'd suggest that the first two of each bracket proceed. Those ten teams form 2 new brackets (randomly selected) with 5 teams each. Out of these brackets, the first 2 will make it to the semi-finals. Those ranked third play for rank 5 etc. That way it might take quite some longer time to finish, but maybe thus we can bridge the time until the next JDC season ;)

That'd change the tournament's general idea entirely and is thus rendered inadvisable.

Unhit Jan 31, 2008 03:36 AM

Why?

agreed

Raven aka StL Feb 1, 2008 01:16 AM

That'd mean that if you prosper as a team, you'll be competing as individuals later on in the tournament. That'd be harsh crap.

Grytolle Feb 1, 2008 02:13 AM

I don't think counting rounds is a better idea, especially since we only play two rounds per game :P

Vegito Feb 1, 2008 02:44 AM

That would give loads of matches a 1-1 round, probably because most teams have 1 great level and are able to beat anyone there ;-;

with 5 players i meant 5 teams of course, sorry.

Raven aka StL Feb 1, 2008 05:32 PM

So you're saying that you can sensibly divide 5 teams into 2 brackets?

Or are you saying that there should be another league stage afterwards, or something? Because that sounds complicated and quite unnecessary.

I'll just go ahead and say that QZ is doing a fine job, although I support round based scoring with 3 rounds.

Unhit Feb 2, 2008 03:18 AM

If you read "players" as "teams" in my original post, it should be rather obvious what i meant.

Vegito Feb 2, 2008 03:32 AM

It is rather obvious. ;p

Robee Feb 2, 2008 10:45 AM

iR-T [10-2] TR

iR-T's level: Happy Semiconductor CTF
Result:5-0 to iR-T
Comment:
Fast and easy game.

TR's level: Diamondus Warzone
Result:5-2 to iR-T
Comment:
Aw, I saw lots of lagclones, so it was hard to kill enemy. And we very badly started. But GG

Thanks for Veg for hosting both rounds.

Vegito Feb 2, 2008 11:19 AM

Yes confirmed.

Hitch Feb 4, 2008 05:12 PM
