Christmas Contest

Time to get into the Christmas mood for another year! To increase the spirit of the community, looks like it's time for another contest. =P

Here comes my 3rd annual contest, and this time as the name suggests the aim this time is to make the best Christmas/holiday themed level.

Rules:
  • The level can be any game type, although MP is prefered as SP is a little awkward to host online. This will not affect the judging though.
  • Only one entry per person, however collabs are allowed.
  • The level must be newly made for this contest. Any level found released longer than a week ago before this contest starts will be disqualified with no exceptions. You may not convert/remake a previous level either.
  • The level will be primarily judged based on how well it stays true with the Christmas spirit, which does not have to be from any particular point of view. This does not mean gameplay doesn't matter; it will be judged too, so don't go making a 10 minute job.
  • Although I'm leniant with this, any level that clearly does not have anything to do with Christmas/holiday season will not be accepted.
  • Send me the levels either by uploading them to J2O and posting the link here, by uploading them to a file sharing site and PMing me the link, or by sending them to my MSN at billy_the_big@hotmail.com.
  • The deadline is 23rd December.
What are you waiting for? Go make some entries ;)

CrimiClown Nov 2, 2008 03:51 AM

I feel as if I should enter, though I'm a bit stuck on the whole Christmas theme... I'll figure out something creative.

Sonyk Nov 2, 2008 04:06 AM

Why just Christmas? Are holidays in general or just winter not acceptable themes?

PurpleJazz Nov 2, 2008 04:14 AM

Yeah, they'd both be fine. Holiday/winter themes are in my opinion completey acceptable as christmas levels. Anything else associated with Christmas is fine too.

Odin Nov 2, 2008 02:06 PM

If I can recover my hard drive full of JJ2 stuff, count me in.

DarkSonic Nov 2, 2008 02:09 PM

I'm probably in, but I'm not sure yet. I still have enough time to decide if I'm in or not.

Jimbob Nov 2, 2008 02:22 PM

I'm definitely in. I'm already making my level, and I'm already having fun.

Ninja Nov 2, 2008 09:20 PM

Black Ninja Nov 2, 2008 10:43 PM

Just so I am sure I understand, updating the heck out of an ancient level would not be acceptable? ;p

Eh, as long as the level hasn't been shown to the public yet it should be fine.

Ninja Nov 3, 2008 08:06 PM

pft, I'm making a tileset specifically for this level. =P

Raven aka StL Nov 4, 2008 03:57 AM

In... perhaps, I think, maybe, might happen and so on.

I want to, but will I be able to force myself? Only time will tell!

Jimbob Nov 5, 2008 02:11 PM

I had dropped my first level since I didn't like it, but I'm making a new one for the contest.

Black Ninja Nov 5, 2008 02:27 PM

Count me in for now. I am actually attempting to make something new!

TechnoPauluz Nov 5, 2008 03:17 PM

I did already start making a final christmas battle level with the same tileset I did use before... But I am not sure if ill get the deathline because I am a really slow but fine JCS'er that really prefer quality above quantity ;)

Grytolle Nov 7, 2008 05:52 AM

Well, as far as this hasn't been made official yet, I was going to build an Assault level with the Borealis WTF tileset. However, I felt as if this wasn't christmas-y enough, so I decided to try and do something else. Unfortunately, by now, it is safe to say that I won't finish this in time.

Sorry, guys. Now someone else will need to take up last place.
