bash11 thread

Rub it in!

Ragnarok may have a word or two to say here

n00b Mar 2, 2009 06:45 PM

Oh wow, bash time already?

plunK Mar 2, 2009 07:02 PM

How are maps chosen for bash?

Slaz Mar 3, 2009 03:42 AM

I've always seen bash as a good opportunity to play new maps I haven't felt to choose for duels/wars before. So as long as the mappool contains most or all high-rated recently released levels, it's alright with me. :)

CrimiClown Mar 3, 2009 04:49 AM

Dear Bash officials,

Titled 3 will make it in time. We promise.

Sincerely,

DarkSonic and CrimiClown.

Vegito Mar 3, 2009 05:23 AM

Semi, DW...

Superjazz Mar 3, 2009 06:42 AM

Yeah, let Veg compile it. ;P

Or maybe Darksonic/Hitch/Quickz/Ragnarok?

Raven aka StL Mar 4, 2009 04:06 PM

Or yourself, which seems like the best choice.

Ragnarok! Mar 15, 2009 06:27 AM

Yes. Indeed. A word or two, or eight.

Superjazz Mar 15, 2009 07:21 AM

If you want... :)

master sven Mar 15, 2009 09:41 AM

Can New Diamondus Bay be in it?

FireSworD Mar 15, 2009 03:51 PM

I'd like to compile it. I did compile a bash with CelL, but that was a combined effort. If anyone else desires to, then so be it. If no one else steps up to the plate, then I will.

cooba Mar 16, 2009 07:31 AM

To clarify

Ragnarok is doing the bash11 lists. I've asked him to do it right before posting this thread (hence the note in the first post) but apparently he's still in aftershock and unable to announce that anywhere...

He's finding it hard because there is not enough high quality levels made in 2008, and those that are good were included in bash10 already (thanks for rushing your (-) through the door guys!). I'm going with the assumption that no one minds several bash10 levels being repeated.

The lists-in-progress should be available soon.

n00b Mar 16, 2009 11:43 AM

As long as those several repeated levels aren't the ones that abused pits then I personally don't care at all.

Stijn Mar 16, 2009 11:46 AM

I thought there was only a shortage of high quality battle levels. I actually do mind bash10 being repeated, it's just boring. Also, I would like to hear from Ragnarok, since he's organizing this and all.

Then blame the people who were desperate to release their levels just so they would be in bash10.

As cooba said during the public betatesting:
"you guys are so gonna save the bash"

Well it's here now. Check your local download section.

cooba Mar 17, 2009 11:14 AM

In all honesty, I really don't think that the list really needs to have twenty levels from both gamemodes. With 20 levels there will always be filler, in form of either "classics" that all oldies tell you to put in (but will never join the server themselves), or levels that are lukewarm at best.

With 15 levels per gametype there won't be any "baww my level was missed" complaints either :)

Raven aka StL Mar 18, 2009 02:04 PM

Surprisingly well put.

[EDIT] Also... let's start handing out bans for level requests and let the pack compiler(s) (hopefully FS and/or SJ) handle the level packs.

[Also edit] It can't possibly be coincidence that a familiar face jumps out the minute I post here.

Why is it you always have the worst ideas.

It is. I use new posts and check out thread titles that look interesting, previous poster does not factor into this. Honestly, I can't be bothered to actually track whenever a certain person posts. Considering you're about the tenth person to make that claim I'd have to be running some kinda JCF information syndicate just to keep track of all of the people I supposedly follow.

Hell I barely post here anymore. This isn't like when I used to argue with Zapper all the time so he actually had some leverage when he pulled the stalker shtick. Get over yourself. You're not special, your mommy lied to you.

The bash is a community event. Suggesting to ban people who try to help is silly at best.

[EDIT] To be clear, I am not endorsing n00b's post, nor his tone. I discourage such tone.

I re-emphasize: If people want to suggest levels that should be fine

Raven aka StL Mar 19, 2009 04:27 PM

cooba (&Rag): Sorry, didn't notice that...

FQ: Don't except the worst... I'm not an evil person like that.
Was more like trying to say that people who aren't making the bash pack(s) shouldn't try to squeeze levels in.

... Sorry about being 'evil' every time I post. :D

People just ask People to look at (their) levels because sometimes the pack consists of levels by the same group of people, some others have been forgotten...

Stijn Mar 20, 2009 01:27 AM

It would help stop the speculation if Ragnarok posted an update of what he's going to put in the packs.

master sven Mar 20, 2009 01:51 AM

I'd say the best NEW levels should be put in whoever made them.

Ragnarok! Mar 20, 2009 04:32 AM

Okay here's the deal, I'll update you tonight.

I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to do the packs yet, I already have a load of levels but as you can imagine it does not come without its difficulties. I think some of the problems have been addressed to or referred to in this post already, so I don't feel the need to go into them; I've got it under control. Anyway, expect an update later, maybe, possibly, probably...

Bare in mind I can only properly do this stuff when I'm not too busy with school, and I had a load of advanced maths exams recently so I've been really stumped and stuff. This is why I haven't probably been posting here or updating as much as I could/should have. Anyway, please stop arguing! P.S. It's Persian New Year today. Woopwoop.

best post made here for a while!

Ragnarok! Mar 20, 2009 03:20 PM

The likely situation is that there is only going to be 15 levels per category, sorry to disappoint if this does.

Fin Mar 29, 2009 01:30 PM

bash bash

PS: Read that you have to reply to a post first, before you can make new threads. I am new and I can't start new threads, so I am trying this here :D
