JJ2WC Nations Cup Suggestions

I am still working on the final update of the III season, which will even include individual player awards and a nice CC dedicated logo.

Meanwhile, it's time to let you know about the next JJ2WC competition: a nations cup. Please let our crew know about everything you'd like to see in that cup, which would most likely be similar in its rules to the latest JJ2WC season.

master sven Jan 27, 2011 05:52 AM

I think this one needs a longer preparation. Last nation cup there were only 8 participating countries, I think 16 would be nicer and possible. People from all kinds of nationalities need to be informed way before, so they can search and inform other people from their country.
The maximum amount of players on the roster should be quite much, it would be a good experience for all players, even if they only get to train.
It would also be nice if each country could pick 1 map for the mappool. The refs can always add more maps if they think its nessecary. The countries must be well informed that they should be picking 3v3 suitable maps though.

Thats all for now.

Zerg Jan 27, 2011 07:05 AM

If I'm Hungarian from Romania, with who should I play?

Toni Jan 27, 2011 07:08 AM

I'm pretty sure that there aren't much Hungarians in JJ2 who are active. There are more Romanians, but Reni is Hungarian from Romania. Ask her.

Is it possible to make a contest for mappool?

shaney Jan 27, 2011 07:23 AM

i believe a nations cup isnt gonna cut it let me post this idea of me

a 3 v 3 or 2 v 2 league cup

a league cup is something that works on a point system has no final its just pure gaming for points

in a 2 v 2 league cup u need 2 v 2 teams excisting of 3 members (like replacements if someone is un avaible) in a 3 v 3 league cup a team needs to excist of 4 to 5 members

in a league cup its about all teams having faced each other 2 matches only . (one on team 1,s level one on team 2,s level)

the point system looks easy but isnt easy

3 points for win 1 point each team for draw

if at end 2 teams have the same score the F/K ratio takes over . Flag scores and kills

and offcourse u can think awards in such a cup . its not about who eliminates the most teams cause some tems dont even got to face each other .

a league cup if there are like 16 teams in the duration will be 22 matches

if a team is disqualified for what ever the reason . the teams that still eed to face them win by forfeit and gain 3 points . the teams beated by the team will gain 1 point if they beated the team and 3 points if they didnt beat them

Ana Jan 27, 2011 08:39 AM

same rules as the jj2wc,it`s a 3v3 competition so it should be the same as the jj2wc. Mappool : the jj2wc one except na!!!!

[GpW]Urbs Jan 27, 2011 08:42 AM

I say keep NA:)

And let slovenia/croatia play together:)

imo, nation cups sux, especially if u don`t get on well with ur partners :P

wrong the jj2wc is a cup tournament

a league is different the rules work different . a tournament bows on who wins the final . a league is about who wis the most points

Ana Jan 27, 2011 08:48 AM

I didn`t know there is a diff between them.Anyway,it`s JJ2WC Nations CUP not league,so the jj2wc system would work i guess...

u dont know what the difference is between a league and a cup?

let me explain it in a better way whats the difference between a lets say soccer world cup . and a soccer leugue . thats a lot of difference

Ana Jan 27, 2011 08:58 AM

To me ,they were synonyms. :D:D

master sven Jan 27, 2011 09:02 AM

That you liked the way the JJ2WC went doesnt mean that the way the matches were set up was perfect. I think we should get the bad spots out, for example the 4 round matches which were way too long for most ppl in the knock out stage.
Btw in a league everyone plays against everyone and the one that won the most is then the winner. In a cup the winner is decided by the final with the best 2 teams left, a group stage could be first so that all teams at least have some matches to play.
Seeing the way ppl are debating about maps I still think that every nation should have the right to pick a map.

Ana Jan 27, 2011 09:05 AM

yeah,ur idea about map picking is good but what happens if 2 countries want the same map?

master sven Jan 27, 2011 09:17 AM

Well then its even better that that map is in the pool since two countries like it.
And the admins can still add maps if they think more are needed, bcs for example semi is excluded or 5 countries picked the same map.

Jgke Jan 27, 2011 09:24 AM

Also, a contest for the maps would be nice.

master sven Jan 27, 2011 09:25 AM

Nah then ppl will make deals about the maps like last time. (JE had 1 vote more than bblair etc..)

I guess Jake actually means something like what happened before the Duel Tournament 2. Thanks to that level contest a whole lot of great maps appeared. No problems seemed to take place (though I wasn't playing back then so may be wrong).
Making such contests too often may however eventually lower the overall quality/number of entries.

picking levels sucks . so you can make teams prepare for the levels . i am huge fan of an invisible map pool . every nation picks a number and each number is a different level in the pool .

so that on the time of the match then u see what level it is . so u see wich team is better

I don't think they were too long. In fact, they allow others to play as well, different combinations of teams thus more players happy/gathering experience. I don't think they'd have to be longer either but shorter would make it too short at times imo :lori:

[GpW]Urbs Jan 28, 2011 06:46 AM

yup I agree veg. 4 rounds rocked.
5 would have been even better but my noob team mates screwed up:)
I was pwning so hard...

master sven Jan 28, 2011 06:55 AM

If you wish for countries like malaysia or australia or even the USA to be in then it would be hard to find a free hour for both countries if one of those plays against an european country, due to time difference. Having to play 4 matches makes it rather impossible.

Enigma Jan 28, 2011 02:24 PM

Can we assimilate Gry into a Belgian squad? He's practically one of us anyway ;)

Grytolle Jan 28, 2011 05:14 PM

I'd be up for that if DZ doesn't wanna play with me and Grytmastern :D

(I live in Belgium, in case someone didn't know yet)

master sven Jan 29, 2011 01:41 AM

Lionel Messi lives in Spain, no way he is going to play for their national team though.

[GpW]Urbs Jan 29, 2011 01:52 AM

Stupid as that is of him:)

So, are there ay free peoples of the Earth who would wish to allign themselves with the proud Slovenian nation? We can be team World. I'm sure rep won't mind. And it would be keeping up with a tradition from this neck of the woods: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Aligned_Movement

Lets pwn!

BTW I'll even ask the King and Prince if we can have Grytet as our HQ.

Lithium Jan 29, 2011 03:56 AM

What about doing a Yugoslavian team? :P

edit: ffs stop picking on my reputation for no reason

Toni Jan 29, 2011 03:57 AM

What about making a National Cup with countries before The 1st World War?

can't be serious

Jgke Jan 29, 2011 04:23 AM

No. Never a country tournament where Finland would have to play with Russia D:
E: This map is a good one :D

what about the introduction of provinces or states to the tourney . :P then it5 can rock

Treylina Jan 29, 2011 06:32 AM

I'm afraid if I ever wonder UK will come back as a team again for JJ2..I know Scotland wouldn't work at all as I know I'm the only player who seems to be from there who is still playing. Most of UK players are inactive and I'm not sure how what we can be combined with. PJ can you hear me (yeah I understand your bad connection these days is the main reason you hardly play online though)!? I think Dutch and Polish players are plentiful enough to play as their own country, so I see no need for those to be combined with any other. Other countries could be willing though.

xD We would win with Austro-Hungary...
It would be funny..

[GpW]Urbs Jan 29, 2011 07:10 AM

Hehe Austro-Hungarian empire ftw:)

spaceboy Jan 29, 2011 07:12 AM

At least Poland, Finland, Romania, The Netherlands and Germany could form strong teams.. interesting enough for a tourney!

Serbia would have fun pwning it...again. :p

And there wouldn't be Poland and Finland...two good teams off.

(keep off my reputation no offense meant)

[GpW]Urbs Jan 29, 2011 07:34 AM

yup, true enough. Well the finns lost snz, sucer is inactive and raven is hardly around lately as well. Still any team with SJ and Nerd is dangerous.

spaceboy Jan 29, 2011 07:51 AM

It will take a long time till I'll be able to make a new JJ2WC season.
They'll already be back for the tourney by then!

master sven Jan 29, 2011 09:08 AM

Utrecht-Flevoland: Vegito, Shaney, Laro
Gelderland: Chiyu, MS, Slaz, Shaker
Brabant: Loon, Mithos

Don't know where Sweet, TW and jazzRP are from...

Fofel is from Overijssel, which is closest to Gelderland, but it would be more fair to add him to Brabant.

Haha, all just an idea. >P

I didn't ask for Lionel Messi, and the FIFA doesn't make the rules of JJ2WC ;-P

Sure, if we can't get a Belgian team together.

master sven Jan 29, 2011 03:49 PM

:| ..... It was just an example. It would make sence that u play for the country from which u posses the nationality.
