Multiplayer & Servers
Hi everyone. I just have two questions. They're both about multiplayer mode on the Internet.
1. How does the owner of a server kick people off (what does he/she press on the keyboard, etc.)? 2. How does the owner of a server ban people (what does he/she press on the keyboard, etc.)? Thanks to anyone who answers. ~Slix |
To kick, type kick 'insert number/ip here"
To ban, same thing, but with 'ban' instead of 'kick' I assume you're new? If so, welcome. :) |
Remember to press 't' first to bring up the chat thing.
Press F9 to see the player list (and the numbers you use in the kick\ban commands) And welcome :) |
Awww... thanks for the warm welcome, guys.
*grins from ear to ear* Anyway, thanks for your answers. I get it now! :D |
hey you have 1.24 look for me ;)
|
Yes I do!
Yeah... I have TSF. Got it from Aiko :D
*thanks, Aiko* |
Hey, Slix. Hope you have a great time here.
|
Welcome to the JCF, Slix. I'm ElectroPiZZa, but you can call me "stupid". Hope you enjoy your stay!
|
If you want to kick someone and prevent them from coming back, type "ban (player number)" and the troublemaker is banned from the server. However, Black Ninja will return to your server after he's been banned (don't ask how) and crash your game.
|
Wow that's a **** good personal attack that I'd fear to do to Patar even! (oh boy... here I go again...:))
Slix, personal advice: NEVER BAN, banning is lame in many peoples opinions and some plp (like you) might not know how ot un-ban when they regret banning after hearing my word (or rather, reading) *sad puppy face* Welcome! :D |
Welcome to the JCF and JJ2, Slix! and be careful when banning people.
|
Again, thanks y'all for the warm welcome. About this banning thing, just how DO you unban people? I don't even think I like the idea of banning in the first place. Nonetheless, I've seen it happen.
|
The only way to Unban someone is to remake your server.
By the way, if you forever want to Ban a person from your server, go to your JJ2 Folder. Find Banlist.lst, then add their IP Address/Username and save. If you want to remove them from the Banlist delete their IP Address/Username from the list and save. If it is your first time editing the list. You will be unable to edit the list because it is set to 'Read Only' so therefore do this. Click once on Banlist.lst in your JJ2 Folder. Then right click, and click on Properties. Uncheck the box that says 'Read Only' and press ok, then you can edit the Banlist.lst Although if you were to Ban someone from your server they can easily come back. Also me for one and other people, can be annoying and come back to your server. I do it all the time, i'm not going to post how to do it because it'll probably be abused. So there's no way to stop it just keep Banning them, they'll eventually stop. I hope that helps you Slix :) |

Executor, if it's a ban on his ip, did you ever think he might have a dynamic ip as some broadband users do and dialup users do? |
Thanks everyone.
|
Or a Spoofer Defolcon.
I thaught banning someone meant that he NEVER could come back, you mean to un-ban jsut restart server? (tell me I am rgiht or wrong about this sentance ;)) I'm glad you think negative about banning too Slix. And, (for the 2nd or 3rd time ;)) welcome. (and your welcome! lol) Got an ICQ to tell the lazy profile-reading-haters? :P |
Your Welcome, Slix.
|
Welcome to the JJ2 community.

And if Black Ninja comes back after being banned (bychanging his IP, or using a proxy) and trys to crash MY server... I will personally eat him and poke his ISP's eyes out ~_^ |
Go away. Far away.
I just can't _stand_ to be like every one else. :P |

|

I don't think that's a very fair accusation, I know some accusations I could make. |
Welcome to the Jazz2 Community!
Uh..what a dynamic IP, I knew but I forgot, Thanks |
A dynamic IP is a IP that changes every time you login/dial-up to your ISP/etc. im pretty sure thats what it is.. :)
|
Yup, that's what it is, all right!
