So, anyone made any concept art yet?

*taps foot*

This one is equipped with "Super Snipping Action"!

I like it!

That's the best anything that I've seen come from you. ;)

I told you, I can't make concept art without good description of classes, personalities and their parts in the storyline. That's all things that influence the design.

Strato Oct 22, 2003 01:01 PM

Concept art should begin after we design a class system. Check out mine on this board.

Onag Oct 22, 2003 01:09 PM

I disagree. Artwork is inspiring and will help us to formulate new ideas about how the classes should be organized.

While we shouldn't be working on final designs right now, some sketches of cool machines could be very useful.

Oh... okay.

And again I ask, how's 484-DON for a baddy's name? =b

Strato Oct 22, 2003 01:13 PM

Unless the bad guy is a robot that name wouldn't be good.

Fawriel Oct 22, 2003 01:15 PM

Well, those guys are half man- half robot, no?

Radium Oct 22, 2003 01:29 PM

Why not just call him "Abadon"?

And I agree with Iceman.

Xeno Oct 22, 2003 03:05 PM

Perhaps you could take the "animal approach" to names and designs of mechs. While the names of the mechs don't have to be the direct name of the animal (i.e. Dog, Cat, Spider), instead the names of the mechs could be similar to the genus, class, family, etc.

Although, this concept is far from original, it is logical (that is, if the mechs were originally made by humans or human-like beings).

Tac-GX9 flies across the landscape ready to rain serious painering on j00 n00b.

Cos Abadon is *unoriginal*?

Oh yeah...

And I'll drop this for an unknown amount of time.
I gave myself far too many tasks already, A JJ2pack, my own artwork, commissions, a website, yadda yadda...
As soon as I've cleared some of those I can be of your assisstance in this.

Thanks for your input so far. Hopefully there will be more to discuss when you return.

Hiya!

Here's something I whipped up with my tablet...

Just because they are mechs doen't mean they can't keep a bit of animal type looks to their form. :)

This one has a bit of a Robo Cop look to it I guess. I think it is also cool to have the visor display data on it.

Oh, and sorry for the poor handwriting. I'm still getting used to the tablet, so anything I don't sketch turns out inacurate.

Hare Oct 25, 2003 03:43 AM

Oh... Hmm, maybe I should have put a bit more care in making sure the lines are clearly seen. he has tubing out the side of his cheeks that looks like part of a badly drawn muzzle. *chuckles* I'll redraw it sometime and make sure it is cleared up. ^_^ It doesn't have a muzzle, really.

Hare Oct 25, 2003 04:49 PM

Ok, here's one that is a bit better :)

I dunno... This is very anime. *chuckles* I don't know what art style Onag has in mind, if any, but it was fun to make anyways.

I made a thread entirely to answer this question. I must be able to see the future =D.

Nice pic, too.
