Open Canvas Art

I just whipped this up with Open Canvas. :)

The program is freeware if anyone is interested. It is also capable of online multi-user mode, where multiple artists draw on the same page over the net. I've had my tablet for a while, but this program is the only one that really gives me reason to use it much.

MoonBlazE Oct 26, 2003 12:08 AM

You = r0x

Hare Oct 26, 2003 03:10 AM

Here's one I just made.

I haven't done enough color images lately. And no groveling at my feet. :P LOL

I made this image in one sitting. Earlier, I had to take days to color something like this, but I find it much easier with Open Canvas. GIMP is not compatable with my tablet anyways.

Radium Oct 26, 2003 04:56 AM

I wish I was against Open Canvas so I had something to complain about. Could you possibly name any way that it might be (a.) conning you out of money, (b.) eating your soul, or (d.) hiding things from you?

And I agree with Blaze.

OMG! HARE!

Erm, yeah.
(It seems like Rad has an evil alter ego that is caused by the letters "F", "A" and "W".... incredible. )

And I agree with Blaze. Erm, Moony.

Hare Oct 26, 2003 11:19 AM

Uhm. Well, Open Canvas is easy to color with, so I'll be doing more colored art. So I don't see how that would be evil... But then again, they could have made it easy to color with because they want me distracted while the program hides my games folder, eats my soul, and steals my credit card numbers... which I don't really have, making it all the more mysterious.

GuMmYBeAr! Oct 27, 2003 02:41 AM

Where did you get OC. >|

Ninja Oct 27, 2003 07:56 AM

..gummi...will you draw with me? ;.;

Yes. <3

Hare Oct 27, 2003 08:51 PM

The program in its latest version is no longer freeware, and whoever makes it no longer hosts the free version on their site annymore... but that doesn't mean others can't host the freeware version instead ^_^

*shing!* Sparkle Sparkle

:P

Drawing with others is the most fun when one of those people is partially or completely insane.

Sun Fun Dude Oct 27, 2003 09:56 PM

These are really great!

Hare Oct 28, 2003 01:34 AM

Thanks. I can churn these out in one sitting, too. It is nice.

I worked with tints in this one. Yes, I did sloppy on the body structure.

Ninja Oct 28, 2003 07:29 AM

rowwr, I want to be able to use this. >|

So did you find a CD-key, hare, or are you not using the trial version..?

..and what version should I download, and if you could, can you give me a direct link to it?

Coppertop Oct 28, 2003 09:57 AM

Nice. I'm pencil and paper type, tho.

Hare Oct 28, 2003 03:59 PM

trial version? CD key? You must have went to the official site. They don't support the freeware version any more, so they don't have it.

The direct link to the program is here:

And I would challenge you to a non-file sharing duel to the death!

Nice pictures, by the way. Except the tail on the third one looks more like a log or something than anything else.

Hare Oct 28, 2003 05:01 PM

Hey, I don't illegally share files.

This is the freeware version.

I never said you did. The sentence started with "if", referring to that mythical world where stuff isn't generally good.

BIRNG IT ON! *doesn't share files* *doesn't share files* *still isn't sharing files*

And about the images, I agree with you about the body structure on the last one.

Hare Oct 28, 2003 06:42 PM

Yes, I was sloppy.

Hare Oct 30, 2003 04:04 PM

Practice with facial shapes...

I watched The Lion King and it woke me up from my artistic sloppiness. So I got on track with trying to draw things accurately again.

Coppertop Oct 30, 2003 05:04 PM

Lion King = Evil. *shudders*

Hmm, that letter must have ran away to another woord.

Gummi, I cried too. I was about five or six, but I cried. I cried easily back then.

Xion Oct 30, 2003 05:56 PM

*gives radium a purple nurple*

let's see if you cry now!

Radium Oct 30, 2003 06:00 PM

When I get hurt now I make this wierd hissing noise that sounds vaugely like Gollum. It's an instinct.

Xion Oct 30, 2003 06:01 PM

an instinct, not in instinct.

Jeez...Go back to school.

Radium Oct 30, 2003 06:04 PM

It's 9:00 PM and I got up at five. Give me a break.

Hare Oct 30, 2003 07:47 PM

She said she cried while watching the Lion King, not "The Lion King scarred me for life". heh.

A friend did a fan picture that reminded me that I used to draw Toca with a super touch of cuteness. I like my newest version, but I still like the cuter version too. So I tried to draw the cuteness once again...

I guess I still got it :D

Once again, some changes in how I draw were inspired by Disney art...

...Well actually.

This summer I've watched Lilo and stitch and cried.

And I've recently cried in the beauty and the beast. ;P
