I have a small problem. I'm trying to run a full time server for jj2. For some messed up reason if I leave my computer for a certain amount of time and come back jj2 has been frozen. It still says my server is there but I'm sure it's just pinging all the time. The I have to click on it and number of time and then it's unfrozen.

So my question is.... Does anyone know how to stop this or what are the right settings to use in order for the game to stop freezing?

The same thing happens to me when I host a server with one of my own tilesets. Especially when I'm using a new tileset when everybody is downloading. And when I try to chat to other ppl I press enter and BOOM! JJ2 is frozen. It unfreezes after some time. I have a 56K modem but I don't know how to solve the problem...

Aiko may know.

The only thing I can think of doing is setting it so jj2 got full use of my CPU most of the time before anything else.. but I don't think that will solve the problem just screw up my computer even more.

Yeah, dude, that's what he says.

Anyway. I got that problem (JJ2 frozen) also, when I created some server with my own (custom-tilest using) levels. I think it may have some problems with all taht pppl downloading the same file at the same time.

I have Win 2k Pro.. so that could be why it's causing me problems.. I dunno though.

I don't know why for sure, but here are a few tips:

Don't minimize the window

Try running the standard levels and see if it still freezes

umm..

I can't really think of any.

Are you minimizing the Jazz 2 window while running the server? That could most likely be the culprit.

Then again, Jazz 2 servers just tend to crash every so often.

Overlord, i once explained it to you in detail

Short summary:

I think its a mixture of bad network code (blame Michiel O. or Arjan and, in the meantime, your bad, slow connection. Just wait a while (up to 15 minutes, sometimes) and it will unfreeze, Overlord.

Yes, Flea knows. It must be Win 2k then. Cuz I run it normally. I'm tryed messing around with the jj2 setting to see if that did anything but it doesn't, then comes crashy crashy.

Aiko!

I know :P

You still didn't say how to prevent it from happening. That's what I would like to know... if there is a solution.
